It has a nice space for outdoor seating and would be a decent place to have drinks and enjoy the chips, salsa, and homemade guac.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] However, my review for Nativo can be summed up in one word: bland. The chips are very salty, so the salsa washes some of that off, but these and their margaritas are good. Everything else is flavorless. This was the first time we've had fajitas with no flavor. There was no seasoning whatsoever. The chicken was dry and the shrimp was tasteless. Even the Mexican rice had no flavor. Our server was zipping around the restaurant helping everybody and was constantly refilling drinks and chips, but never stopped to see how our dinner was. A runner brought our food and had to bring mine back as I requested no onions and they were in my fajitas. I think our server may have noticed. Also, my wife and I asked for extra rice and no beans. We got the beans, so back they went. It wasn't a nice start, but the staff was friendly and I think they were busy earlier since it was Cinco de Mayo. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The Mariachi duo were a nice touch.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Not sure we'll be back as there are plenty of spots that offer flavor in their meals. Our waiter was super friendly and everything moved quickly, in terms of orders, etc. There was no need to flag anyone down. The raspberry margarita was great, not too strong, and a bizarre mix between tasting fake and real. It tasted a bit artificial but had raspberry seeds in it and maybe a bit of citrus zest, so who knows? But it was delicious. I got the shrimp diablo, which came with soup or salad. I got a tiny cup of tortilla soup, and it was very flavorful, one of the better tortilla soups I've had! Sadly, they add sour cream, which I don't really like, on top of it without telling you, but the flavor was strong enough that I didn't even notice the sour cream! The shrimp diablo came out lukewarm and were a disappointment. The sauce was fine, nothing too special other than "having a kick." The grilled vegetables were decent. The scoops of mashed potatoes might be from some packet, since they were dry and flavorless. All of this for $25ish is simply not fair to the customer. It felt like this dish had very little effort put in. However, the drink, the soup, and my husband's entree were all great! His entree was a Mexican twist on saganaki, interesting since this restaurant replaced a Greek restaurant. I don't mind monterrey jack, so I tried some, and it was wonderful. There are tons of grilled veggies in the dish, too, and it's presented like a cross between saganaki and fajitas. It was definitely a standout! read more

I place an order with Nativo for a company event. I order 4 orders of the Taco Bar from their catering menu. I requested setup when I placed the order, the driver, brought the food and left. So, I set the food up and when I open the containers, I was confused; I request the Taco Bar, not a Burritos Bar. The Beef and the Chicken has rice in it, the Sauteed vegetable's has rice in them. It's a Taco Bar, that should have served Beef Barbacoa and Chipotle Chicken and everything of your choice to add your taco, not them adding it for you in the pan, with the chicken and beef. On top of that, they sent one half size pan of rice, and one half size pan of sauteed vegetable with rice, one half size pan of lettuce, half pan of black beans, no onions for 60 people. The problem is, they were cutting corners, they didn't want to serve full pans of just chicken and beef, so they want to save themselves money and added rice to everything. This could have been a good business opportunity for Nativo, we place orders all the time, and having to tell others, that the order was not done correctly, doesn't carry well. You messed up Nativo! read more

We have been visiting Nativo for several years and enjoyed it. The food and service has declined. Tonight, my husband's steak was unseasoned and overcooked. When we visited a month ago, my son's meat was also bland and the salmon I had was overcooked. Today on my nearly $200.00 bill for 4 people I asked for an extra 2 tortillas to take home and was told that I would have to pay extra. This small sample of greed was the final straw. Some of the dishes that are prepared here are very good but I will not be returning. Hope losing customers is worth the price of 2 tortillas. read more

My wife and I had margaritas that were very good. We ordered guacamole that was made at the table and it was very good as well. The portion was quite large and we probably will not order it next time. My wife had chicken enchiladas. She said that they were crispy. They had red peppers in them which are not her favorite. When we paid the check, the manager said they could easily substitute tomatoes for the peppers. I had tortillas with mole sauce which I hadn't had for a long while. Very good. Nativo has a tempting menu and wonderful and very efficient staff. Unfortunately the best my companions and I could come up with was a rating of 2.5 out of five. Our server knew the menu well and was able to guide our most food-allergic friend to a grilled veggie platter that she considered safe. This after she was told the special of the day was not available (15 minutes after the restaurant opened). My other companion ordered salmon fajitas and I had a steak chimichanga. The food arrived promptly with efficient presentation but when it came to the quality of the meal, we agreed it was good...but no more so than we could have gotten at a less expensive chain restaurant. The two of us who received rice and beans with our meals found that typical side dish flavorless. My chimichanga was tasty but overwhelmed by the spinach included inside. The fried ice cream was rated "the best part of the meal" by my companion who had never tasted the dish before. This was our first time at the relatively new Nativo. While I'm not what one would consider a Mexican food expert, I can tell the difference from a less expensive chain versus quality Mexican food. In my opinion this is the real deal. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were seated on the patio by the parking lot, but several feet of landscaping hid the parking from view and made for a pleasant setting.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Yes they served chips & salsa; the salsa could have been a little thicker-but never-the-less enjoyable. My mojito was well prepared and evident someone took their time preparing it. My go to Mexican dish is a chimichanga (perhaps a dead give-away I'm not very adventurous). It was well prepared and tasty accompanied by the obligatory beans & rice. My wife's vegetable tortilla was truly an impressive plate of freshly prepared vegetables. The other couple we were with were equally pleased with their dinners. The fact Jessie stopped by our table several times to check on us was a nice touch, as opposed to being served and needing to hunt down wait staff. Bottom line-we'll be back. read more

Food - not so much. we were ordering by 5PM and I was informed that I couldn't order one of the listed special dishes because they were out of it. How can an "upscale" restaurant be out of a special so early? FYI - they weren't open for lunch so they couldn't have sold out. No chicken? There's a Heinan's grocery right there. I opted for the grilled veggie platter. I compared what I got to the veggies listed on the menu. I was missing the red bell pepper and the mushrooms. 3 of us tried this new Mexican restaurant and we all LOVED our food! The menu had the usual Mexican standards on one side and some creative dishes on the other. The tortilla chips were great; not greasy, and were actually flaky. I ate way too many.Two of us had chicken fajitas and one had chicken quesadillas-so tasty!!! I'm not usually a fan of refried beans, but these were pureed and so yummy! A nice size portion along with yummy Mexican rice. The Bannockburn margarita was delicious with a lovely balance of flavor. Major disappointment across the board. Highly recommended by friends who had been there several times and invited us to go with them. Service staff had a major attitude - took 20 minutes just to get water, though we asked 3 times. Service was meh from there. Drinks were ok, not great. Freshly made guacamole was good. It was all downhill after that. Entrees as simple as a quesadilla were not at all good - beef was tough as nails - didn't bother bringing my leftovers home. As we left, our friend had a conversation with the manager - let him know of our overall disappointment compared to the three other times they had been there - his response "3 out of 4 ain't bad". nice job at empathy.
