Really enjoyed my dining experience at Nativo. From the chips and salsa, to my fajitas and margarita, everything was very enjoyable. Our waiter was very friendly and super attentive. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There wasn't a lot of people on a Monday night so it was nice that it wasn't too loud.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I have no complaints and will definitely be back.

I place an order with Nativo for a company event. I order 4 orders of the Taco Bar from their catering menu. I requested setup when I placed the order, the driver, brought the food and left. So, I set the food up and when I open the containers, I was confused; I request the Taco Bar, not a Burritos Bar. The Beef and the Chicken has rice in it, the Sauteed vegetable's has rice in them. It's a Taco Bar, that should have served Beef Barbacoa and Chipotle Chicken and everything of your choice to add your taco, not them adding it for you in the pan, with the chicken and beef. On top of that, they sent one half size pan of rice, and one half size pan of sauteed vegetable with rice, one half size pan of lettuce, half pan of black beans, no onions for 60 people. The problem is, they were cutting corners, they didn't want to serve full pans of just chicken and beef, so they want to save themselves money and added rice to everything. This could have been a good business opportunity for Nativo, we place orders all the time, and having to tell others, that the order was not done correctly, doesn't carry well. You messed up Nativo!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance: welcoming, warm and pleasant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service: friendly and our waiter checked up on us multiple times. They modified guacamole for us and kids separately. Food: very deliciously and we were pleasantly surprised with the taste and menu. Definitely much better than other Mexican restaurants in the neighborhood. This is our new go-to Mexican restaurant for special occasions.

The fried ice cream made to perfection.

I went here with a group of 5 via a reservation. We were immediately welcomed and greeted by a wonderful host who sat us and explained the menu options and recommended we try everything. We did just that we tried over half the menu and everything was incredible. Highly recommend the deviled eggs, brussel sprouts, bao buns, spicy edamame, udon noodles and more. After dinner we popped into the other side of the bar which is an art gallery and the bartender was so friendly, welcoming and fun! We walked around the art gallery, enjoying the beautiful exhibit and sipped our cocktails for at least an hour. This was such a wonderful experience, we will def be back!

It wasn't so much a speakeasy because it was not hidden, but that didn't really matter to us once we were there . The food was Asian themed and they had different drinks than the other restaurant next-door . I thought the focal point would be a bar in the middle of the restaurant, but there was never any bar that I could locate so that was also confusing. The food was really good. We had black garlic, deviled eggs, some tuna tartare and a lamb Ragu that was really good. So if you're looking for speakeasy, this is not really a speakeasy, but it has really good Asian food so just an FYI when browsing the Internet. The only reason I gave it four stars is because I was expecting one thing when I walked in and I got another, but we were pleasantly surprised with the food and drinks that we received so we will be back.

We visited for tea with some adults and children this weekend…read more The room near the patio is gorgeous (the inner room is more on the cozy side). We were quickly seated with a reservation and the tables were lovely - gorgeous wedgewood china (even for the kids!). Greeted with prosecco for adults and sparkling juice for the kids. Service was really friendly and helpful with tea selections. There are about 4 options for children if they want tea as well. Food was good and there was a tower for the kids (their the older child at our table wanted the adult sandwiches...). Plenty of sandwiches and sweets. The scone actually was the standout though - orange cranberry - very soft and delicious. Customary lemon curd, jelly and cream - delicious. All in all, this was a nice, fancy time for tea but there were some negatives namely: no one ever asked if we wanted more drinks (I would have had a glass of champagne but no one returned or asked - I could have flagged someone down but was surprised at this level of hotel that service wasn't so helpful). We also felt rushed - I would have stayed longer to enjoy but get they were cleaning up our table quickly. Instead, we brought some of the treats to go. While the staff was friendly, they weren't really there a lot - I saw some tables get asked if they wanted more sandwiches - but we did not... and it wasn't because we had kids at the table because I'd say at the time we went, more than 50% of the tables had kids with them. We did get a nice little to go gift of tea, chocolate and a tea strainer. I'm conflicted upon returning just due to feeling rushed.... I always go for tea once a year at least and I've been to every fancy hotel in the city (and other restaurants) for tea and multiple hotels in Europe (Ireland, England) and this was the most European feeling but really felt less relaxed even though the surroundings were gorgeous.

I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately it wasn't for me…read more The restaurant was mostly empty when we arrived, yet we were told they were "fully committed" because we didn't have a reservation. It made the experience feel impersonal from the moment we walked in. The atmosphere was very dark and gothic, which may appeal to some people, but it didn't feel warm or inviting to us. Between the unwelcoming first impression and the overall vibe, it's just not a place I would choose to visit again. Unfortunately, I wouldn't be back.

For my meal, I ordered the lake forest breakfast. The ingredients were all fresh and the combination of meat, potatoes, and vegetables made for the perfect balanced breakfast. I felt as light as a feather afterwards! I was told the avocado toast and cobb salad were delicious as well. Inside is an English style pub with very dim lights. The menu sounded delicious. They serve a complimentary bread with butter, but we didn't receive any until we noticed another table did as soon as they sat down. So I asked. And eventually someone brought exactly two over and plopped them down on one of our very dirty, used plates. My favorite part was when the server so confidently plopped down the extremely burnt roll and scurried off. So I asked if they could bring out a new roll and butter. Never received either. To start we ordered the Burrata and the Steak Frites. The Burrata was good and I enjoyed the bread it was served with, but the tomatoes could've been in more bite-sized pieces since they were chunks. The Steak Frites was good too... the steak had the allusive butter. The fries were crisp, I didn't try the onion rings though. I wasn't intending to eat much of this dish, but without asking, the kitchen decided to fully split the dish. Not a big deal and I kind of get thinking. The bread thing was weird. Then there was this weird moment where they just tossed a box on the side of the table and scurried off again. The entire time I felt like my presence was inconveniencing them from doing their job. The whole thing felt awkward and gave a sense like they were bothered by something. Perhaps the way I was dressed, but it's a pub for crying out loud, and if I walked down the street to Le Colonial with how I was dressed, LC wouldn't have even batted an eye or had an attitude when it came to service. So next time I'll walk down the street to LC.
