I was first referred to their Oceanside location. Walking into their office was frightening, low lighting and a room full of waiting people. IWhen I reached the clerk to register I was met with not so friendly customer service. Granted it was a full house etc. but customer exchange is important as it reflects to me the type of care one will get. So I left, went to the Valley Stream location unknowingly. nicer office, had the exam but what caught my attention was the indifferent attitude of the initial exam. The doctor herself was okay, but she looked overworked. So I have yet to have the eye surgery yet as I am frightened by the attitude of staff at both places. I checked the background of both doctors at both locations. First location the doctor had more experience and the second had less experience. So here I am a near month later in need of surgery on one eye frighten to put my eyes in the hands of unfriendly clinics. If your overworked and tired how will it affect the only eyes I have in surgery. Any business office must have a welcoming front desk person as it reflects on the rest of the business. I may wind up at the emergency dept of Mt. Sinai South Oceanside, in which they are okay. read more

Since I had an easy eye procedure which I was advised was easy at the time from the son of a known doctor at Ocli I have been terribly suffering daily with no response to my constant calls trying to get help !! I would never refer Ocli ever again !!! read more

the office is nice and clean but the time they make you wait is ridiculous. I had a 12pm appointment. Got there at 11:45am. Its 1:45 pm and I still haven't been called in. When asked about how much longer I will have to wait I was given an attitude by a worker. They take people who came in way after me and see them first which isn't right at all. The Valley Stream office is the worst and I will never come back here again. If you need to find a good eye specialist find another office because this one is HORRIBLE!!!!! read more

I was very happy with the optometrist at OCLI. Unfortunately, it is impossible to make an appointment by phone or online for Valley Stream. When I called, I was lost in an infinite loop and then disconnected, three times. When I tried to book online I was unable to get past verifying my information. Eye exam is throughly done. Unfortunately, this is my 3rd or 4th time here, and it's always been at least a 2 and half hour wait. Dilated my sons eyes for over an hour. The staff I would say is not rude, but not friendly either. Just raw with their job. Staff can't tell you how long to wait. They jump you from room to room. I said I would change offices and Dr. Michael S. Confirmed that I should when I told him about the extremely long wait time on several visits. He explained he had an emergency, which is understandable, but I said it was not the 1st time I have had to wait this long. Then he proceeded to tell me I was early for my appt. That maybe I should find another place to go. I said that being rude. He said no I'm rude cause I called him a liar because he had an emergency. Great doctors that give you wonderful services. They saved my eye sights for the best

Awful wait time. They constantly forget to check in your chart and leave you in the waiting room for over an hour. Transfer you from one room to another then a middle waiting area. Expect to be here two hour minimum and to see the doctor for 5 minutes tops. Dr. Swerdin is super nice, but the office is just a joke. Your time is worth more. My appointment was at 3:15. They trick you into thinking the wait is not long by moving you from the main waiting room to another where you will wait again. At 4:30 I asked how much longer I had to wait, I was told there were still two patients in front of me. I knew the Dr. would not spend more than ten minutes with me as I have been herre before so I left without being seen. I have found a new opthamologist. This practice is very poorly run. read more

I had a 12:00 appointment with dr. Swerdin this past Monday. Typical routine checkup. He is great however wait time is awful. I have extreme anxiety issues. When I made the appointment I mentioned this and they said to call that morning. I called the main office and they said just go over no problem. Efficient, and highly professional, is how I would describe O.C.L.I. during my recent visit. I made the appointment for a 'same day' visit and filled out my paperwork before arrival as forms were available on line. I was seen immediately upon arrival. I was impressed by the 'state of the art' equipment. The technician who performed the initial evaluation and the doctor who examined me and delivered the diagnosis were highly professional, efficient, and courteous. They forwarded the prescription to my neighborhood pharmacy which I picked up immediately after the visit. I am both satisfied and impressed. read more
