My visit took longer than expected though. I have good veins and drink plenty of water so I rarely have any issues. Maybe the nurse was new I'm not sure. Just know she kept having to adjust the needle. My donation from start to finish took almost 3 hours. Not fun. I liked that they have squeeze balls readily available, well it's more like a styrofoam roll but works the same. Also liked that they call you by name when they are ready for you. Other centers that I've gone to don't do this. Only wish that they'd speak louder or come out to the waiting area when they call your name. Overall, solid first impression, would come here again if in the area.

This is getting worse! I went to the Baltimore place, they said my appointment was for later and…read morethey would not change it. Mind you, they had 3 nurses on the counter and only 5 donors in line. I check the app, the place in Towson could see me. The Biolife app has the wrong address! Now I'm lost, and I'm late for the Towson appointment, they won't change it. I reschedule again for the place in Baltimore who NOW can see me earlier ‍ Now the Baltimore place has 1 person on the counter and a line of about 20 people. How was this better than seeing me earlier?! By the time I'm finally reach the counter (1 hour and 15 minutes later!) I'm mad. Guess what happens when you're mad? Your heart rate goes up! Now they won't see me because my heart rate is higher than my normal rate. I left without donating. How is this better than DoorDashing?! I think they make you miss donations so you won't get the new donor bonus (you have to make 8 donations in 30 days).

Parking is easy, there is a solid selection of snacks and drinks, and donors occasionally receive gifts and merchandise. As I entered the building, I was immediately greeted by the security guard. After checking my identification, he directed me to the donation room. As I entered the donation area, I was once again, immediately greeted. Each person with which I interacted was VERY professional and courteous. I was seen almost immediately (in advance of my appointment time). The technician that took care of me (Ms. S) was one of the fastest and most polite people I have ever had the fortune with which to work (not that I did much). Her donation stick was painless and fast. She explained each step of the process and what to do and expect post donation. The 'recovery' canteen was bountiful. I took in my share of cookies and juices. Upon my departure, I was thanked again and given a t-shirt.

The welcome area and lobby are brand new, contemporary and quite beautiful. There was no one in the waiting area and from what I could see no donors were in the lab area. According to the Red Cross mobile app scheduling for that afternoon was wide open but I was having trouble scheduling via the app. Thought I could just walk-in and be assisted with scheduling by Red Cross staff. Not the case. The slovenly low-energy woman at the welcome counter was gloriously rude and unhelpful. Ended up leaving Mount Hope without donating and going to the York Road center a few days later. Stay away from Mount Hope if you can. They are miserable.

Only to find after I'd been sitting there 15 minutes already that the blood procurement team was delayed AT LEAST 30 minutes. I found this particularly frustrating as I had left work to donate, but I stuck it out since I was already there. Luckily when I was called back, the Red Cross person helping me fill out online forms was nice and processed me through quickly. She also set me up comfortably to have my blood withdrawn. She was able to find my vein and poke me with little pain nor fanfare. This whole process took maybe 20-30 minutes and wasn't bad - I just surfed on my phone. So overall, all the Red Cross folk I interacted with were great, but the time management was lacking. I will, of course, continue to give blood, however, next time I schedule an appointment, it will be first thing in the morning, not at 1:45pm on a workday.

I encountered her on different occasions and she is the same no matter when you go. You must undergo an medical assessment in order to donate plasma. After this process you will be taken into the main donation room to make your contribution. The other employees are very kind and courteous. You just have to make it past the nurse and then you'll be fine. Good way to earn pocket money and help others. I just pray they find another nurse because that one shouldn't be working with the public. I take off two stars for her lack of professionalism.

They say this is because so many people make appointments and don't show. This can happen with in-person appointments too! There's gotta be a better way. Also, I've made appointments several times and then come in to find out my appointment either wasn't on the book or totally the wrong time! Staffing is awful (even though the staff is really kind to donors!). The turn-around rate for employees is terrible. Many of them have told me their bosses treat them like crap. Take heed, center management: people don't quit their jobs; their quit their bosses. Communication between employees stinks in this place. Overall, this place helps saves lives and that's fantastic. But management is a sham and they come up with terrible solutions to common problems. This leads to EVERYONE suffering for the mistakes of a few.
