My visit took longer than expected though. I have good veins and drink plenty of water so I rarely have any issues. Maybe the nurse was new I'm not sure. Just know she kept having to adjust the needle. My donation from start to finish took almost 3 hours. Not fun. I liked that they have squeeze balls readily available, well it's more like a styrofoam roll but works the same. Also liked that they call you by name when they are ready for you. Other centers that I've gone to don't do this. Only wish that they'd speak louder or come out to the waiting area when they call your name. Overall, solid first impression, would come here again if in the area.

Mind you, they had 3 nurses on the counter and only 5 donors in line. I check the app, the place in Towson could see me. The Biolife app has the wrong address! Now I'm lost, and I'm late for the Towson appointment, they won't change it. I reschedule again for the place in Baltimore who NOW can see me earlier ‍ Now the Baltimore place has 1 person on the counter and a line of about 20 people. How was this better than seeing me earlier?! By the time I'm finally reach the counter (1 hour and 15 minutes later!) I'm mad. Guess what happens when you're mad? Your heart rate goes up! Now they won't see me because my heart rate is higher than my normal rate. I left without donating. How is this better than DoorDashing?! I think they make you miss donations so you won't get the new donor bonus (you have to make 8 donations in 30 days).

Today, I watched as more than eight people had to come back and get re-wrapped because one individual, a short woman with glasses and very dark hair (either Asian or Latinx) failed to properly wrap them the first time after they completed their donations. That is a safety and health hazard. When I tell you that these people came back leaking blood all over the floor, I am not exaggerating... at all. I don't know if this girl was new or what but she was very slow, and not doing a great job. she also didn't arrange donors in order, so there were people who were assigned at bed, long after others, who were hooked up to the machines out of order. Super annoying when you've already been waiting nearly an hour. I would beware.

However, they wanted me to wait and talk to a Manger to see if they took a picture. If another center could upload it. As I sat and waited with no one in line, 1 lady was walking around and the one waiting on me and asked me to wait, helped the other person. When I got up to leave after 10 minutes of nothing, the lady not doing anything asks if I am leaving. Then the other one who was originally helping me says she was going to help me when she was done. Needless to say, I can not donate because my picture needs to be uploaded but the day shift can only do that and I work 2 full times jobs and was trying to squeeze in a donation. I think a phone call would have been nice but apparently that is NOT what they do. No contact number on the website or App.

They are attentive and perfectly willing to talk you through any nervousness and many of them have great senses of humor which really helps to pass the time. I actually look forward to donating blood.

I'm not going to say I was looking forward to or eager to give blood, but I'd signed up for a…read morespecific time (1:45pm), as required, and arrived in advance of my appointment. Only to find after I'd been sitting there 15 minutes already that the blood procurement team was delayed AT LEAST 30 minutes. I found this particularly frustrating as I had left work to donate, but I stuck it out since I was already there. Luckily when I was called back, the Red Cross person helping me fill out online forms was nice and processed me through quickly. She also set me up comfortably to have my blood withdrawn. She was able to find my vein and poke me with little pain nor fanfare. This whole process took maybe 20-30 minutes and wasn't bad - I just surfed on my phone. So overall, all the Red Cross folk I interacted with were great, but the time management was lacking. I will, of course, continue to give blood, however, next time I schedule an appointment, it will be first thing in the morning, not at 1:45pm on a workday.

On par with and/or worse than any fast food restaurant, Walmart, or brunch place. The employees cannot stop having personal conversations, even with a needle in your arm or during an interaction where personal information is being shared. Then they get sassy, snippy, and/or rude with you as if you're the problem because you want them to concentrate on their job (you)! I can't stress enough how poorly this place is run, you can tell management is also immature and unprofessional as well. This staff reminded me of wannabe popular high school girls during lunch (which was all they seemed to be worried about was when their lunch break was). I will never go here again, I would never recommend anyone support this business, but unfortunately because of the poverty levels, homelessness, and high percentage of drug addiction where they operate, they're always going to have a consistent clientele base, whom they're always going to exploit. They know their customer bases' standards aren't particularly high, and their job performance reflects this.
