They have a phone number to call and check in if you need to schedule a slot. Whole blood is all I've ever done. But they are equipped to do other types of donations. It doesn't hurt like people might think. Ok...actually the worst part is when the peel off a couple inches of tape and "wax" some hair on my wrist. But it's not a problem at all. Simple snacks are a right of passage once you've donated. Don't hesitate to do this if you're eligible. I tend to have slightly high iron so a blood-letting is actually prescribed every 8 weeks. All joking aside....try it. It's easy.

I went back to CSL 1/30/26 only to be told I attempted to donate more than the allowed 2 times in a week. When I corrected their mistake, well the wannabe god, deferred me until Feb. 6th. Unbelievable. I emailed the higher ups only to be stonewalled and of course they were too busy and intelligent to check it out for themselves. If I could give them a negative 5 I would. I have been donating here for as long as they have been open in Bloomington, IN. I have…read morerecommended them for years to friends and colleagues, however currently, they are a horribly mismanaged operation. They are severely understaffed and and that creates horrible wait times for donors. You are required to make an appointment for donations, no problem. When you show up at your pre-determined appointment time you may still have a two hour wait just to be able to get in and donate. In fact you might even check in just to be sent back to your car to wait for a phone call, so that you can come in and wait in line. But yes you had to have that appointment, that means absolutely NOTHING. To make matters worse, they have multiple front office personnel, and nurses walking around that are either unable to or unwilling to step in and help speed the process along. The staff on the floor is great as always but when it takes two hours to get out to the floor it is ridiculous. The management needs to take a look at what is going on because their current procedures are idiotic.

This place was decent back in early 2024. The staff used to be careful with your veins, even if the…read morewait times were horrendous. However, the quality of care has plummeted. The staff has become increasingly incompetent, with inexperienced technicians who jab your arm blindly. When they fail to get a proper flow, they simply blame it on the donor having 'bad veins.' I returned today after recovering from the flu, only to have two inexperienced techs repeatedly probe my vein. Even when the machine alerted them of a poor flow, their only solution was to jab me further. I eventually had to refuse when they tried to move to my left arm. To make matters worse, they seem to have changed their pay structure. Compensation used to be for your time, but now it seems to be based solely on the volume collected. Last year, a technician blew my vein and caused a severe hematoma (see attached pictures). You're better off doing DoorDash than letting these 'pretend' technicians play with your health.

There is not one person at this location that give a damn about their job. There are long periods between screens because they lazy person sitting down have to hard of a job. They need to fire to management again and start over. I would not recommend this place to a test animal. It really is this bad. I do not recommend this place to even try. Very bad business control in here. They do what they want when they want and don't care about the donors.
