I don't usually write reviews, but as the 55-year-old son of an 89-year-old mother with dementia, I…read morefeel compelled to speak up after our recent experience. We took my mom in for her scheduled appointment, only to be kept waiting for 45 minutes. Delays happen, I understand that--but what unfolded during that time was completely unacceptable. We were first met with a very unfriendly and dismissive front desk staff. No warmth, no welcome--just attitude. While waiting, I stepped outside to grab a book from the car, and saw one of the assistants--who I had seen earlier at check-in--outside vaping what was clearly a weed pen. She had black and blonde hair, and the smell was unmistakable even from the door. Back inside, I noticed another assistant going through the patient charts, flipping around and not following any clear order. It made me wonder if we had been skipped altogether. The disorganization and lack of professionalism was glaring. Now, I will say--Amy, the young lady who worked us up, was the one bright spot in the entire visit. She was kind, attentive, and seemed to genuinely care. But unfortunately, that's where the positives end. Once we were taken to the room, we could clearly hear staff out in the hallway gossiping--talking badly about the doctors, the management, and even each other. At one point, someone commented that a team member was "missing again, probably outside smoking weed." If that wasn't concerning enough, most of the staff we saw were glued to their phones or chatting loudly instead of focusing on patient care. Dr. Krueger himself was great. But let me be clear: no doctor, no matter how skilled, can make up for a team that behaves like this. It doesn't feel like a place that values patients or takes pride in their work. It certainly doesn't feel family-oriented, which is what vulnerable patients--like my mother--need most. We've already started the process of transferring her care elsewhere. I genuinely feel bad for the doctors here, because it's the unprofessionalism and lack of basic decency from the staff that will drive patients away.

I just wanna say thanks to Amy. The technician who took care of me before I saw Dr. Brock. She was…read moregreat. Keep up the fine work!

The vision in my left eye had also gone from about 20-40 to 20-80 or worse after the surgery, which had tightened a saggy left eyelid muscle. I went in 12/22 for an annual appointment and to talk about the dry eyes and vision change. Dr. Kruger's assistant (Adonis) was great, but when the doc came in he spent about 5 minutes with me, if that, and was really dismissive and gruff - horrible bedside manner. He put a plug in a left tear duct which helped for only a few minutes. Did not acknowledge that the problems could be related to the surgery. I went back 4-5 weeks later saying hey, this is really a problem for me, and it was the same thing. A nice tech, then a couple of minutes with the doctor, who confirmed the plug was still in place, glanced at my eyes and said he saw no evidence of disease, and prescribed a steroid eye drop (that didn't help). And he was gone. He's a cataract surgeon, and otherwise, he seems not to be interested. I'm still struggling, but finally 2 months ago an optometrist at UCH did a test and said my left eye rarely closes when I blink, which confirmed my feeling that my eyes drift open when I sleep. Problems which I believe were caused by the surgery, but it seems no doctor wants to blame another for a problem. If you want someone who cares and listens and problem solves, this is not your guy, based on my experience.

This guy and his lasik machine are miracle workers!…read more I waited 15 years to get lasik because I was a.) terrified and b.) waiting to need reading glasses. Well at age 47, after years of wearing contacts and glasses, I finally made the decision to get custom wave form lasik with monovision. The procedure performed by Dr. Hines could not have gone better. After giving me my "courage cocktail", the procedure took maybe 45 minutes in total. it was pretty freaky, but not scary. I asked Dr Hines how many surgeries like this he had done and he said "40,000". Ok, not his first rodeo. When I left the chair to go meet my friend, with my fancy steampunk goggles and all, I could already tell I could see better! I watched TV that night (in my goggles) and woke up the next day seeing perfectly- I don't need ANY correction for near or farsightedness- NO reading glasses necessary! I had a very good result and a very good experience and wish I hadn't waited 15 years!
