A unique antique spot inside an old hall. It's very tightly packed with some treasures. Oddly, you aren't supposed to travel the different floors with merchandise. No one seemed to follow those directions. I went after Xmas so there were lots of booth sales and good prices. There is a little something for everyone. Odd Fellows is a fitting name for this shop since the building formerly served as a meeting place for the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. The two story store had a lot of neat merchandise: art, old radios, lighting, doll house furniture, home furnishings, and vintage clothing. They also had tons of vintage Christmas ornaments and decor. Granted, we were there in December, so I'm not sure if they rotate the Christmas merchandise in seasonally, but it was neat to see during the season. read more

We absolutely LOVED this antique store. Drove over 40 minutes to check this place out and were not disappointed. Images online are exactly what you get. Floors and floors of opportunities to find unique and reasonably priced items. Dad found the most perfect lap, music posters and I landed a dress and a new top. The staff was helpful and friendly. One of the best antique/vintage stores in the area! So much stuff to look through, especially if you like hunting a bit. The store is set up with different booths, so some are definitely on the pricier side, but there are plenty of options for lower priced items too. Very nice store in a beautiful building and good location. The only problem is that 80-90% of the inventory is always the same because it is insanely overpriced. I mean think of what you would consider a high retail price for an item would be and double or even triple it here. I usually go in here for ideas, and if I see an item I like I can buy it, shipping included, from eBay, marketplace etc.. for half the price, easily. They really should encourage the sellers to price competitively, because I go in there way less because it's always the same stuff at the same high prices. read more

This is a solid antique store in that it's large, has a little bit of everything, and keeps out the junk (the importance of the latter cannot be stressed enough, especially these days). That said, though there are a few standout booths, a lot of it looks the same. More often than not, I leave here empty-handed. I find it leans more towards MCM and 70s, which is not my bag to begin with (not their fault, but it would help to have more diverse merchandise). Prices are on the higher side, which is fine if you're able to actually sell it, but their stagnant turnover rate indicates otherwise. I want this place to succeed though so I'll keep coming back in the hopes of quicker turnover. read more

This is probably the best antique shop I've ever been too. It's got things I actually want to have in my house. It's not like someone cleaned out their garage and dumped their crap in a store - it's like a perfectly and meticulously curated little collection of things that probably have fantastic stories behind them. I have only ever written good reviews on Yelp but I'm still frustrated by my experience, so I felt the need to advise others. It is truly a great store, aside from one very rude member of the staff. We were walking the through the store, and I was flipping through a book to decide if I wanted to purchase the book for my coffee table. When a particularly curt staff member came up to me and asked if she could help. When I said no, just flipping through the book to check it out. She then, loudly nonetheless, asked me to put it back because "we don't like people going through our books unless they intend to purchase." If she had asked if I was going to purchase instead of essentially treating me like I was stealing from the store, I likely would have said yes. It would have been the perfect addition to my coffee table. That said, I did not want to make an uneducated decision which was why I was going through the book. Please note, this book was not in a case and there was not any signage that prohibited me from carefully paging through the book. Following the encounter, another patron of the store came up to me and expressed that he thought her behavior was as rude as I conceived it to be. Unfortunately, I listened, put the book back, like she had asked, and then the store lost my business indefinitely. It also earned them a two star review. Quite simply, every single other person was pleasant, friendly and helpful, but it only takes one person to ruin a shopping experience. I walked out of the store, empty handed, embarrassed and frustrated. I hope you read this review and still decide to visit the store. First and foremost, this is a beautiful and classy antique mall. The inventory is fabulous and the prices are fair. The ladies that work there are all friendly and helpful. The dealers are also open to negotiation. One dealer not only gave me a sizeable discount, but he also offered a 60-day layaway instead of the usual 30. This store is filled with the stuff your grandma never let you touch. Now you have no interest in doing so. I've recently been on a weird old stuff kick, so I figured I could try this place to see if they have nay weird old things to decorate my apartment. What I found was what looked more like a museum than a store. Most of the things here are very lah-dee-dah porcelain in locked cases. Lots of dinnerware and cups, not too much kitschy and weird. One redeeming quality of this place is the old wooden floors that creak as you walk on them. The staff seemed cold and unwelcoming to the likes of me. Seeing as how I'm under 50, I'm categorized under "dirty fingered ragamuffin" and deserve a leering gaze. Prices are what you'd expect - this side of expensive. They had some old books that were interesting, but they were 5x the cost of what I'd expect. If you have a rich grandmother who needs a new tea set, bring her here, otherwise, try somewhere else. read more

Snapshot: Kitsch to glam, an assortment of Victorian to mid-century antiques priced fairly. Entering into Odd Fellows Antiques is not for the claustrophobic. 150 booths fill two floors of a stately brick building on Twelve Mile in Berkley, a sort of Rust Belt or Yellow Door Market for the antique crawling set. Trying to characterize the whole lot is difficult, but Odd Fellows represents the odd couple. French provincial furniture sits side by side with rose-patterned china and cast iron cruets. Latch hook rugs are just as common a sight as moody landscape paintings. Each booth reflects a totally different pastiche of preferences, ranging from china shepherdesses rescued from Grandma's curio cabinet to vintage Michigan farm signage. Electric items like lamps and old radios stand alongside an enormous array of dishware and housewares. Come here with a look in mind, or prepare to spend hours sorting through the different booths trying to find it. Fortunately the staff are quite familiar with each seller's offerings, and will happily guide you to find something you seek. The beau and I searched over a weekday for a bedside table for our guest room. In about thirty minutes, while I basked in the sun on a park bench adjacent to Clark's Ice Cream, a friendly employee helped him locate two potential tables. I went in armed with the booth numbers, found my preference, and we concluded a sale in two shakes of a lamb's tail. Regular markdowns, sales, and consignments help to keep the reasonable prices within the stratosphere of reason. You could spend easily double the price for a furnishing at a mainstream furniture store, or get real wood and an antique or vintage piece. Odd Fellows can be rather tight on space and overwhelming if you do not go in with a game plan. Fortunately, even vague instructions ("a solid wood table," "a record player," "green cups") can translate into a real find. Hardcore thrifters and antique hunters will certainly be in their element here, but for the average shopper tired of Target's contemporary look or the Macy's premium can still thrive here to their satisfaction. Parking is easy in their side lot, and they have a wheelchair accessible ramp -- great if you have a heavy piece to wheel up the car. Make sure to stop in at Clark's for a special treat. read more

If you enjoy hunting at garage sales but don't have the time this may be the store for you. It is made of different sellers selling their best "finds"- from furniture to plates, normally vintage. If you are a collector of the old, this is a good hunt. The store is only organized by seller, so you could spend almost an entire afternoon sorting through the junk. Keep in mind that many of the items there will eventually go on sale, but you'd still find a better deal if you hunted through the garage sales yourself. read more

This is far and away the best kept antique shop that I have found in the Detroit metro area, period. (At least, yet...but after many!) It's toe to toe with the Motor City Antique Mall, because the latter has some good finds. But I think Oddfellows edges it out in terms of proximity to the city, and its appeal to my personal taste, however subjective that is! Well organized, clean, and fabulous compared to many other places. Each booth is a unique dealer with their own style. Since it's more curated than some other places, prices may be higher on some things, but don't let that deter you from looking for a deal. Many dealers can come down a little, or will mark down individual items in their booth that they want to sell off. You can also make an offer, and they will call the dealer to see what they can do. It is also a good spot for well-cared for, beautiful furniture items--they are sprinkled throughout the place since it's mostly populated by smaller pieces, but keep your eye out for them. Sometimes the shelves or tables that other items are on are for sale. I got a five piece set of Victorian chairs and a sofa for a mere $400, and they are beautiful. The cheapest, shittiest couch made of cardboard at Ikea is $400, and you can score five gorgeous antique pieces for that. Also spotted: an incredible tiki bar, some amazing mid-century modern chairs and tables, one booth that is entirely art deco/mid century awesomeness, and some other amazing little knick knacks. Cameras, miniatures, jewelry, kitsch...you name it, it's here. Obviously inventory turns over across time, but isn't that the best part? Last time I was here, I bought a life sized painted Dalmatian - unique finds galore. Have always had nice chats with a gentlemen who works there (he's usually downstairs).
