AVOID THIS SALON. I…read morehad the absolute worst experience at La Jolie Salon & Spa. I left in tears feeling ugly and not looking like myself. I went in for a brow lamination and tint plus a lash tint. I was never asked what shape or tint color I would like. The tint does not match my hair or skin tone and the shape is not what I would have picked. The lash tint is jet black and left stains around my eyes - I look like a punk rocker raccoon. I never received post care instructions so when I went home I scrubbed my face to get as much of the tint off as possible. I know from getting laminations before that you cannot get them wet same day so this treatment was useless and a HUGE waste of my money. On top of not getting to advise on my service, during the service I was not treated with care. I was left in the room for random amounts of time on several occasions. I had my Apple Watch so I would see if the salon would come back to check on me when they said but the times were always extended which is probably why the tints are so much darker then expected. I cannot stress this enough - do not go here.

Both of them are extremely talented, kind, professional, and truly want to make your experience the best possible. The salon isn't huge, so it's nice and feels more intimate. It's always clean, well taken care of, and they offer you a variety of goodies like water, wine, coffee or hot cocoa when you arrive. It's situated on a busier road within Harbor Point. Parking can be sometimes tougher right outside the business, but there's still plenty of parking all around the establishment including a free parking garage. To make it even better - if you're not looking to get your hair done, you can still use any of their other services like massages, or other beautician services such as nails and waxes. Something I've wanted to try!

I panicked because I assumed they forgot about the birthday party. I had questions about the hair styling and other activities that was supposed to take place. The theme of the party was Kpop demon hunters and I wanted them to give my daughter a Rumi braid (being that it was a salon, you would think that was an easy ask?). When I finally received a call back, I was never given an answer about the hair. The day of the party, not only were there no extensions (for the birthday girl or anyone else), but the girl doing the hair looked like she's never done hair a day in her life (She even told me she was not a stylist!). She just did a simple braid on my daughter and I was really upset. For some other girls, she put a few curls with a curling iron and did nothing else. I am assuming based on my experience earlier in the week not being able to contact the salon that all the regular stylists were on vacation since the salon was officially closed. Not one of the 3 hosts had any enthusiasm and barely interacted with any of the girls. I had a few parents even say to me that they were very low energy. I think you can imagine how disappointed I was. One of the hosts did simple "face paint" where you could barely recognize what it was she was painting. She also left in the middle of the party - which I thought was very unprofessional. There was also absolutely no structure or flow to the party and everything was free for all. They advertise on the website "Stress-free and all-inclusive celebrations". This party was anything but. I was completely stressed and embarrassed the entire time. My daughter was disappointed about the karaoke. The kids were just grabbing the microphone and making noises. I was very overwhelmed and didn't know what to do. I had to stop the girl from doing hair to play the bingo game that I brought. There was no host-led dancing or other games. The salon had no cake knife or at least something to cut the cake with and the pieces were absolutely butchered. This party was clearly an afterthought and the only nice things about it were what I brought to the salon. It was embarrassing for me as the host and to have other adults notice too. The 3 ladies had no energy and looked like they didn't even want to be there. I would never recommend this place to anyone. I was also ghosted when I tried addressing these issues with the owner.

This place is by far the best hair salon I've ever been to. Jerry did my hair and he fixed it from a horrible orange color to a very modern gray tint looking balayage/highlights. I went in there knowing that I just wanted my hair back to black so that I didn't have to deal with a bad hair color again. He was extremely patient, nice and supportive of everything I wanted but also gave me very good suggestions. I ended with my hair back to black with a light melt into highlights at the tips. Not only was Jerry good but all the people at this salon. They gave me coffee and offered snacks, and the hair wash was amazing. I had scheduled an appointment with Leeza but she was sick and cancelled, so Jerry ended up doing my hair. I was scared at first but now I know that both of the hair colorists are very capable and experienced. They also said they had professional new york stylist come in frequently to teach the latest hair fashion trends and tips. They're very much up to date, so I didn't feel like I had to be scared that they were going to do something horrible to my hair. I got a major fix of color, a light balayage, hair wash, awesome haircut and they gave me some wavy curls at the end. All of this took at least three hours and came out to be around $200. I have long and thick hair so I wasn't surprised or regretful of what I paid. I def recommend this place to anyone who wants a good hair colorist. Having said that, It's been over three months since I got my hair done and just in the pst month I started noticing that the color is turning a little more brassy and yellow than it was. Nothing extreme and it doesn't look bad but just letting you all know that the tint is not going to last forever. read more

This salon is a gem! Gina Coloni and Leeza are fantastic. I have gone now for a few appointments and each time these lovely ladies work with me I leave feeling completely pampered and made over like a star! They listen to what my concerns/needs/wants are and advise me appropriately on what would be both good looking and healthy for my hair. They really take the time to check my hair out and also educate me. It's wonderful to feel like the people working on you are as concerned with how you feel as you do. I've had cuts and color where the stylist seemed detached and more concerned with talking to the stylist next to them, or better yet, the stylist on the other side of the salon. I have never feel so comfortable and trusting of both the stylist(s) working with me and of the salon itself. The owner is very nice and concerned that your experience is great every time. Plus it's also a plus that it's very clean and well decorated so that it feels welcoming. There is always water, coffee and little biscuits available when I've been. Please go see these ladies!! Gina has given me two wonderful cuts that just fall beautifully when I run my fivers through my hair. Leeza and Gina together made a custom palate for my hair color and were not afraid to conferee with each other about what tones and ratios would be best and the results show it! I would give this salon TEN STARS IF I COULD. After a series of ridiculous hair color/cuts (all in a row, to fix the prior hair disaster which just kept getting worse and worse) I almost gave up and figured I would just have to live through terrible hair until it grew out. After a month or so, I was so upset looking at the mess every day that I decided that extensions would be my only option. I looked up salons that offer this service and found Odyssey. I called immediately and they were more than accommodating - to listen, to get me in right away, etc. As soon as I walked in everyone was friendly and welcoming. I sat down in the stylist chair and something amazing happened - he listened so carefully to what had been done to my hair and then based on that, suggested different options for correcting. He explained the risks since so much had been done up to that point and I couldn't tell him exactly what products, etc. had been used but it was obvious to him that there were numerous applied. After a series of steps, I walked out feeling like myself again - it felt so great!!! I will never go anywhere else, I recently moved to Stamford (which is the reason I was in a hair mess to begin with since I was experimenting with different salons) and finally I have found my go-to place!!! I recently went for the first time to this salon after moving to Stamford a few months ago. I had been to another Stamford salon before, and although the location was fancy and the stylists were nice, I didn't feel like I was getting what I wanted even though my bill was totaling at least $300 every time (my hair is just below my shoulders). I usually get balayage, as I'm always looking for a natural sun kissed look. For some reason this request to have a natural look was really tough to get before and I'd end up with really blonde hair. I decided to try Odyssey and was paired with Leeza, who patiently listened to what I wanted. Throughout the whole process, she made sure to explain what she was doing and ask for my feedback. She was really open and easy to communicate with. I'm one of those customers who feels awkward asking a stylist to change what they're doing, but expressing my opinion was really easy with her. She was also very clear about the cost of what she was doing from the beginning, and let's just say I saved some sweet dollars. Overall, I highly recommend Odyssey. I am in love with my hair. If you're getting highlights or balayage, please ask for Leeza. As a side note, the facilities and location are not fancy or stuffy, but don't let that deter you. I travel an hour and a half to sit with Gina and boy it was worth it !!!! I've had long hair for many years and Gina Coloni has been the only COLORIST/STYLIST I have trusted. I am very hard to please and she creates magic always,spot on what ever picture I show her . I love the Balayage - Highlites color how natural she makes it look so seamless. We have tried different colors and I never worry how its gonna come out because she has a knack for what works and what doesn't. Every visit she discusses new and refreshing ideas and plants seeds for the next visit. I really like her Energy and look forward to the each visit. The biggest decision I've made most recently was to go really short . Gina took her time with me because she knew I was very nervous. We looked at several pictures and she handled me with ease. I am so happy I cant tell you how many compliments I get on a "daily".... I should have done this years ago. Finally found the best stylist ever, who can cut, color and style hair like no other. This magician's name is Jerry. I have long, thick and wavy hair that's very difficult to manage and work with. I went through numerous salons and stylists and haven't found the right one. That is until I met Jerry. Jerry and his team are the best group of stylists I've met thus far. They're very professional, courteous and pleasure to deal with. The salon is clean and beautifully decorated. They even go as far as serving you coffee and freshly baked Italian cookies. Jerry was very attentive and patient. He took his time to listen to my concerns and tried to address all my questions. I had a hair cut, full highlights and a conditioning treatment. I left salon with gorgeous and silky hair. I don't remember the last time I was so happy and pleased with my results. Got lots of compliments from my coworkers and friends. I've been going to Odyssey Salon since February. I decided it was time to "break-up" with my former stylist and headed to Yelp looking for some new options. Odyssey had good reviews and it was local (back parking lot is added bonus) so I decided to take a risk and trust a total stranger with my hair!!! Yikes! This could have gone either way. When I booked the appointment, I explained my hair type and what I was looking for. The receptionist said, "Ok. I'll book you with Jerry." Couple days later I'm walking in. Nice, friendly, and comfortable atmosphere, not intimidating or pretentious. I was introduced to Jerry and we were off to his chair. We had a 10 minute consultation and the rest is history! My highlights are always well blended especially considering my roots are so dark! The cut is always textured and shaped well. Odyssey is a great find! The prices are reasonable and the hair speaks for itself. Give em a try! I highly recommend! *Ask Jerry for his chain puzzle if you're feeling antsy! I don't think I made it past level 1! read more

Lots of stylists can cut long hair, but it takes a super stylist to give a good short hair cut. Jerry is a super stylist. I travel from Stratford to Stamford to come to Odyssey because nobody, and I mean nobody, in the New York metro area gives a better short haircut for a woman than him. I used to live in Yonkers, and I even tried some high end New York City salons. Jerry's cut was always better. When I moved from Yonkers to Stratford, I had a series of really awful haircuts, at high end salons in the Stratford-Trumbull-Monroe area, so after those experiences I just decided to go back to Odyssey. I constantly get compliments on my haircut after visiting this salon, and the good "lines" of the cut last from haircut to haircut. If you've had bad experiences with other hairdressers, and you're tired of crying over bad hairs days, pick yourself up and head on down to Odyssey in Stamford. Ask for Jerry. He's the best. GINA COLONI is the best! I am so thankful my previous stylist recommended her quite a few years ago when he moved out of the area. I like a very natural look when it comes to color & highlights. GINA accomplishes that everytime! She cares for my hair so well.....through her, I've discovered chemical-free shampoos, conditioners & other hair products. First I will say that I am a 39 yo male that cares about his hair and MUST get a cut every 3 weeks. I've only gone to about 5 different hair dressers in my life because when I find one I like, I stay with them. I've been coming to this salon for about 18 month now and I must say, I love it. The staff is GREAT. I love the warm family-like feel and the owner Jerry is great with all his customers. I normally get a nice shot of expresso with my cut :) They have a little drink/snack table set up for all customers to choose from. Parking is very convenient and the hours they keep couldn't be more accommodating. I highly recommend this salon and hope to keep coming here for years to come. read more

I'm so lucky I found Gina! I've been looking for a good stylist for years and she's wonderful, she really listens to exactly what you want. I've had some pretty bad haircut experiences in the past, but I feel very comfortable in Gina's hands. I was super nervous to go short after having long hair all my life, but she did a great job and I've been getting tons of compliments ever since! She even offered to let me see how the haircut flowed after the first few days and said that if it wasn't short enough, I could go back in and she would do any necessary touch-ups until I was completely satisfied. I've been going to Odyssey for over 7 years now. Initially went on a friend's recommendation and I haven't gone anywhere else since then. I don't know about the other stylists/colorists, but Gina has been my hair stylist and she is fabulous. She is really a great colorist and a good hair stylist. I haven't done any trendy haircuts in awhile so I don't know how good she is with keeping up with the latest styles, but she is great with highlighting/hair coloring. Love this place. First of all great customer service. Everyone is friendly and happy to help. I usually go to Jerry and he is amazing. I'm A European girl who lived in NY for years. Gina has been my hair stylist for 20 years. Now that sounds a bit dated - like I'm going for a wash and set every Saturday, but that is not the case. Gina is the best! I'm an entertainer, designer and make-up artist so I have to look good for working in that industry. Gina is a master of hair color. She always does a custom mix for me and blends the perfect colors. She is an artist. Then the haircuts she gives me are edgy and always exactly what I want. I have to say that Phillip is a very talented stylist and was very informative on the best way to take care of my haircut. It was one of the best I have ever had. I walked out of the salon with everything I needed to care for my hair for the next month or so, and prices were reasonable. The staff is friendly, and the salon has a pleasant atmosphere.
