At first Jaq was super attentive, asked questions about what I wanted, was always available to talk, and worked with my budget. It all seemed great. He said he would take a couple of days to send the first image (did a bulk order of 10 images) but then weeks went by and I had received nothing. I had to continuously email him various times and even had to have my friend that referred me to him reach out because now that he had already received the payment, he wasn't responding. It took over 2 months for me to finally get an image sent to me and it was nothing like what I had asked for. He then promised he would get me a better image within the next week and once again I didn't hear back from him for weeks. He wasn't answering phone calls, emails, DMs, nothing. My friend had to reach out AGAIN in order to get a response. I was more than lenient with him in regards to time considering he had said it would all get done in a matter of weeks and now we were more than 3 months into the process. I eventually asked for a refund for the remaining 9 images since I had only received one so far out of 10. My reasoning behind wanting a refund was simply because it was impossible to get a response from him at this point and my director (working for an extremely large telecommunications company) was getting impatient since there were no results and so much time had passed. Jaq dodged me as always and finally responded by saying that he's sorry that "I felt that way" but based on his policy, he would not be providing a refund if I chose not to work with him anymore. He didn't provide the services we had discussed yet he wouldn't give me a refund for the work he HADN'T done. I told him I'd be happy to continue working with him as long as the communication was better but instead he blocked me so I couldn't reach him. I tried to be nice and understanding but you can't get anything done when someone is provided ZERO communication and does a 180 change on how they're treating you as a customer since they've already gotten paid. Save your time and money and find someone else because this is honestly the worst person you could ever come across as far as business goes.

No follow up. No follow through…read more My business partner and I were looking to upgrade the signage for our business. We were looking for a 7 foot by 5 foot double pylon sign. Hartlauer Signs was our first call. We reached out to them on Tuesday Aug 10th. I briefly spoke with a lady that answered the phone and transferred me. The gentleman I then spoke with took all the details for what we were looking for and actually educated me a bit about the different types of signs available. He took my contact info down and let me know that he was going to personally head to the design/engineering dept to get me an estimate and get back to me before the end of the day. I never heard back from him. I figured people get busy so let me wait a couple days. Nothing. So I reached back out a few days later and was told I would get a call back within the hour. Nothing. Fast forward to Tuesday August 17th (1 week after my initial call). I reached out again and was told I would get a call back. 3 hours later; nothing. I called again and the lady was surprised no one had reached out. She got me in contact with Dennis Connor. He apologised for the lack of follow up. He and I spoke at length as to what we were looking for. Very similar conversation that I had with the previous rep a week prior. Dennis told me he would get this information to the design/engineering dept and get back to me the following business day. He even emailed me after our conversation apologising for my previous experience with them and reassured me he would get me different options to look over and the info I requested. At this point, I was glad I gave them another chance. I understand things happen in business that may affect the day to day. A couple days later; nothing. I decided to email Dennis in hopes of getting some response. That was about 2 weeks ago now. I was just hoping for some communication. Nothing: no email reply, no phone response. It's like this company doesn't want business. They talk a great game, but have zero action behind it. I was very disappointed. If you can't come through as promised, just communicate that to your customers. Most of the people using their service are small business owners themselves. We understand business doesn't always run smoothly. Things happen. But to disappear and forget completely about a potential client doesn't leave a good first, second or third impression. If I would have received a call back or a email reply explaining a delay, I would have been fine with that. But to completely ignore a future customer before you even have my business leads me to believe they won't give a care in the world once we pay them and we're committed. Relationships matter. Don't let them fool you with empty promises. Follow through matters. People matter. We do not recommend this business.

I changed companies and met Jesse Hartlauer and knew this was the better company to work with. They built everything in house and were be able to meet all of my needs and expectations. They installed my signs on my crazy schedule and made sure I knew what to expect. Kudos to Hartlauer signs and their guys. The tech they sent to install our signs was great. Zack the installer was professional and efficient. He made sure everything was exactly what we expected and to our standards before leaving the job. He even checked in after the fact to make sure we were still happy with the product and install. We plan on moving offices soon and will need new signs.
