I cannot recommend OLK9, and specifically Trainer Christina enough. My pup is 5.5 years old, extremely sweet, but would get extremely excited around other people/ dogs. We couldn't take him in public. When we'd have to take him to the vet, he would pull so hard (90 lb pitbull/ American bull dog, so he pulls HARD) that he would choke himself and make my hand hurt from holding the leash, and he would SCREAM/ bark/ cry when we wouldn't let him go up to people and dogs. He wouldn't tire out. He would do that the entire time. It was stressful as all heck when we'd have people over to our house. He would jump all over people, knock over small kids, non stop licking people, etc for about 15-20 min before calming down. If we kept him crated when people were over, he'd scream the entire time (I'm talking HOURS). It was extremely stressful. We did the 2 week board and train program with Christina. I'll be honest, because his issues seemed more like personality issues rather than not knowing commands, etc. I was a little nervous that our biggest concerns wouldn't be fixed. Him sitting, laying down, walking on heel, etc would be nice and all, but really what we needed was for him to be able to CALM DOWN around people. Lucky for us, we got the best of both worlds! My husband and I are blown away by the change in our boy. It's truly day and night. We picked him just one week ago. Yesterday I took him to the local Farmer's Market. He walked at a heel the whole time, not pulling toward any of the other people or dogs. We also spent multiple minutes at a time in a "sit" or "down" position just watching. This used to be a scenario where he'd be going crazy trying to get to everyone, but he remained calm for the whole 45 ish minutes we were there. Shortly after that, we had 2 new-to-Wesley friends come over to our house. I placed him on his cot before they came in the door. He jumped up once, but after I placed him back on it, he remained there and didn't move until I allowed him too. I thought for sure after I let him off, he'd run over and jump on his new friends. But nope! He walked over and let them pet him, but remained calm with all four feet on the floor and didn't lick them like crazy. He spend most of the afternoon just laying near us but not demanding attention like usual. He even stayed by himself quietly inside, while we were in the backyard (another first, he always wants to be where the people are) A total transformation!! Not having him for 2 weeks was definitely tough but Christina sent us multiple pictures and videos every single day, letting us know how he was doing and just showing us his cute face. She was quick to answer every question. You can truly tell how much she loves dogs and what she does. When we picked him up, we spent about 2 hours where Christina taught up how to use the e collar and worked on some training with us and Wesley together. The only thing I'm disappointed in with this training is not doing it sooner. I am in awe of what my boy learned at almost 6 years old and I truly cannot recommend Christina enough. We took Ivy, our 7 month old German Shepherd/Malinois mix, for the 2-week off-leash program with Channa, and we were very satisfied. Ivy is an extremely energetic puppy who has a hard time focusing on following commands, and her recall was really bad. When I took her for walks, it was very difficult because she pulled a lot and was reactive to dogs and people that passed by. Also, taking Ivy anywhere was very difficult because she was really hard to handle. Dogs need a job to do or become destructive. Unfortunately, I learned this the hard and expensive way! I'm super happy with my experience with Off Leash K9 and our trainer Channa. I was very scared to signup my golden retriever for a board and train program but it was needed as he was a bit out of control to the point that I didn't know what to do. From the moment I first contacted them with an inquiry, they were super responsive and attentive to my needs and concerns. Once training started, Channa was very good at communicating not only progress in regards to the training but also about Albus in general which made me feel like Albus was in good hands. It got to the point were it was too hard to control him because of his size and pulling on the leash that we had to stop walks because they weren't safe. We would just play at home to get exercise but we wanted him with us on trips and walks, etc.. He tried to flee and hide if we are out in public/camping, or he would act erratically and bark incessantly. Inside our home he had no issues except barking at the doorbell excessively. We had tried online research and rewards but no good progress. Christina with Off Leash K9 trained our dog for 14 days at her big property and at local public places. Our dog did very well and was responsive to her technics and the Ecollar. It helped to get and keep his attention while training therefore allowing him to focus on Christina and her commands. It helped to build his confidence and keep control of his actions. Our family received 2 hours of detailed training for how to move forward, very thorough! We can call if we need future guidance too. I find at home now, after training, i do not need use the Ecollar and he responds to the commands right away. He is wearing it a few hours per day for small training sessions. His barking at the doorbell has greatly improved...he may bark 3-4 times and we repeat the command to have him stop. It is working well! On our walks, he no longer drags us and he walks side by side with the Ecollar and commands. Work is still needed in areas that he is unfamiliar in and with distractions but we keep doing what we were trained on and it is improving each time. Our oldest son can now control our dog enough to walk him safety. There has been no barking at neighbors or other dogs in the week since we've been home. We tried a walk by the lake, where he is not used to, and there were lots of distractions. He does need a little more work to become more used to the distractions and keep building confidence. I couldn't find the Off Leash K9 for the Sacramento area but I'll leave my review here for that location. Peanut Butter my Chihuahua/Bichon Frise mix who is 3 years old went to Ashley as his trainer for a Board & Stay. I watched the Youtube videos for months before deciding to let Peanut go to this training program, as I wanted some professional training for him to get a step into becoming my Service Dog. (Keep in mind this company doesn't teach task work, but the obedience was a nice headstart, I taught Peanut his tasks after the fact). I liked Ashley inititally upon meeting her and I gave her a list of things I wanted her to mostly work out first that was the biggest priority for his training. She did amazing at teaching him his down stays and sit stays as well as heeling. Peanut went for this Board & Stay in January, 2017. But I also made a huge emphasis on how I wanted Peanut to be better socialized with people and animals in certain outdoor situations he'd be new to. I feel Ashley never really socialized him as much as I initially wanted her to but she did work him in public areas which was still good. When Peanut finally came back home his training showed flawlessly at the progress he had made. I was very excited to keep him on track, as I have. I'm not rich, but I paid the full price upfront because with the help from my community, friends and family, they donated ALL of the money needed to get Peanut his training knowing I was in need of training a dog to be my Service Dog for my medical needs. So not only was I holding my own expectations of the end result but the expectations of those who believed I chose the right place for my Peanut to go to for his adventure. Fast forward to current time. Peanut has improved 100% with his training that since Off Leash K9. He no longer is using the E-Collar to take direction and listens flawlessly other than needing refreshers on his off leash heeling. He is slightly reactive to men who try petting him but for the most part he is friendly to all now and still working it out since I had to grab help from an outside source to help me with this. He is now tasked train to help me deal with my disability since I spent many many hours training him to learn them. He is now doing Public Access and still working out some bugs. Off Leash K9 helped him as a stepping stone into the world of good obedience and dog manners. But I just felt some things were lacking for the price I paid. read more

We are so incredibly grateful that we found David with Off Leash K9 Training for our 9 month old German Shepherd/Husky puppy, Lilly. We originally tried training her ourselves to save money but she wasn't staying in her commands, she jumped up on us or on our sliding glass door constantly, she started chewing up our couch, books, base boards, in addition to the dozens of toys and various types of bones that we gave her. She is incredibly hyperactive, intelligent, but also super stubborn so that combination made it very difficult for us to train her properly. Due to being hyperactive, we would walk her everyday but hated every minute of it because she tugged so badly that she was pulling our arms out of our sockets and just didn't listen to us, especially if there were other distractions. We chose to do the popular 2 week Board and Train program due to our lifestyle and even though it isn't cheap by any means, it was so incredibly worth it. The cost was an investment in our dog that will last a lifetime and we have no regrets. We paid the cost up front, but they did mention that they have options for a payment plan. They also have other training options where you get to be the one to do all of the training. During the two weeks, David sent us videos and pictures of Lilly everyday showing us what he was teaching her and describing how she was doing. Then when we went to pick her up, he spent about two hours with us teaching us how to use the e-collar, then training us on how to train Lilly as well as walking us through the different commands. He made sure we left with no questions and that we felt comfortable with the e-collar. He also stated that if we ever have any questions, he is always available by text and if we need a refresher in the future, we can always contact him for that. After Lilly's training, we have not had any issues with chewing because we are now able to engage and stimulate her both mentally and physically which completely exhausts her. We have never seen her so tired after the training sessions we do with her! We can walk her now (and actually enjoy our time with her), both loose leash AND off leash and she actually listens to us!! She is a completely different dog from when we first dropped her off and we are absolutely blown away by how well she behaves now. We even took her to The Lazy Dog in Folsom and everyone was amazed at how well behaved she was compared to some of the other dogs there. I'm so ecstatic that I get to spend time with my dog and actually enjoy my time with her, instead of spending my time with her angry and frustrated. We are coming up on our 3rd week home with our 8month old Doberman. She spent 2weeks with Melissa in the board and train program. Our pup was fearful, reactive on walks, had little manners, and hard to manage. She would bark incessantly in the car while we drove, lunged at people she didn't know, jumped on us, counter surf, and bark at EVERYTHING while in our backyard. While she was in training she was not able to achieve the off leash walking goals we had expected, however, we have such a well behaved little girl! Kody with off leash K9 training is AMAZING!!! We took our 5 month old Rottweiler Bonnie to training because she is such a scared breed, her dad and I wanted to make sure that she was properly trained on and off leash. I did alot of research and decided off leash was the right choice for our puppy. Kody was fantastic. I was super skeptical about leaving our girl for 2 weeks, but he was so on top of texting us pictures and videos every single day of all of her accomplishments! We just picked her up a few days ago and WOW the difference!!! She can do all of her commands + more!! It's such an amazing feeling being confident in your dog and your dog being confident in themselves. Kody allowed me to come out and train with her and that made me a confident owner of a big dog. I dropped off a fear-aggressive dog with poor impulse control. But he did know a lot of basic commands. I did the 3-week program, and it really helped him. He's more confident around unfamiliar dogs and people. When he wants to control a situation and default to fear-aggression, I can correct him and he trusts that I'll handle the situation. His heckles hardly go up, he's able to relax in public instead of being on guard the whole time. It's much easier to communicate with him, especially when there are distractions. He's 20lbs and sensitive to the e collar, and I don't need to use high levels of stimulation. When I put the prongs on my skin I can't feel the stimulation at his working/motivational level. It's a great tool. When we do trainings drills, he does most things with no stimulation now, he gets so excited to do the commands and get praise and he just looks so confident and happy and hoppy! My dog Penny had already completed two different training courses but she still thought that coming when she was called was her choice. I had been using positive reinforcement and treats for everything, but was feeling powerless in a lot of circumstances where treats weren't working to control her. The e-collar training started to sound good, especially the way that Off-Leash uses it as a communication tool, not as punishment. I signed Penny up for the 4-class package, and we seriously felt that it was worth the cost after just the first lesson. Penny comes EVERY TIME now. We have a new way to communicate that makes us both more confident to go out and play and hike. Cady was our trainer and she is seriously THE BEST! She did the hard work of getting Penny used to the e-collar and showed me how to practice with her at home. We are in Reno and Rick was our puppies trainer. He was nothing short of amazing! He trained our timid and misbehaving puppy into a confident and obedient dog. We are so proud of our heeler, Taffy. She is so smart and learned to much, we barely recognize her as the same dog. Rick did a wonderful job communicating with us daily. He sent us pictures and video everyday. After two weeks of board and train, our now seven month old golden retriever puppy has come back a well trained and obedient boy. Our golden is a fairly mellow boy, but we lacked the skills to train him properly. My overall goal is to be able to take him everywhere on or off leash. Melissa was great! He learned skills both on and off leash (come, down, off/leave it, break, heel, place) and she made sure I had the necessary skills to continue his training. He is still a puppy and sometimes needs reminders, but he is much more enjoyable to walk and there is minimal stress, since he does not constantly chew or take things anymore, in the house. Melissa sent pictures and videos everyday, which helped us see the progress Odin was making and also helped so we didn't miss him so much.
