First, it is important to have perspective when doing business with off-road enthusiasts (motocross, 4 wheel off-road, ect.). That is, if you expect to be greeted by a person welcoming you to the store or someone doting on you, your expectation may be misplaced. For me, I may ask for advice or I may show-up with my own parts for installation. In my case, I ordered my parts and arranged for ORW to do the installation as they are an authorized dealer. In an effort not to provide a knee-jerk reaction to any of the general BS that can happen when installing a new to market 6" BDS kit on my 2017 F250, I waited 2 years before giving this review. In June 2017, I had ORW install a to new market BDS 6" lift kit. on my new 2017 F250 that I had bought two weeks earlier. Make know mistake ORW's installation was flawless, including a front end alignment. The issue was BDS was still working out issues with the kit. Both BDS and ORW worked together and with Ford to resolve an issue with the kit. In short all issues where resolved and BDS was kind enough to provide me some enhanced kit at no cost or at BDS's cost. Now after two years I have had no issues with ORW's installation or BDS's 6" lift kit. I believe after two years I can say with some confidence that I highly recommend ORW and BDS. Went in to ask about a specific part to support suspension on my car. The clerk did not seem at all interested in helping me but was the only one available. He told me they would have to order the part- at double the cost of the exact one I was asking about and showed him from another website. Then I asked if they could install it for me, he hesitated to answer. Another employee came over, looked at the screen and told me it wasn't a good idea to install that on my car. No explanation offered, just a flat out, won't work. Ok, sell me an alternative or help a girl out with ideas to solve my problem. None offered. My last question was, "If you order the part for me, how much will you charge me to install it?" I knew already this is not the hardest install and shouldn't take a trained technician more than an hour because the person who told me about this is an amateur mechanic and said he would be able to do it in about an hour. Their quote was over $700, not sure if that included the part or not but I imagine if I brought in the part they would not stand by the installation. I'm used to be treated as "just another ignorant woman who knows nothing about cars" but their attitude was beyond insulting. Not helpful, not friendly, and very, very disappointing. read more

This place is horrible, please don't take your vehicle here, I've had so many issues after I got my truck lifted here, they don't wanna help fix the problem, just come up with excuses. I've delt with management and regional management with no help from them, they only had excuses too. I keep putting money into it trying to fix the problems, but it doesn't help . They also aren't considerate about my job, because they keep telling me to bring it back like I don't have a one. I've been back in to try to fix problems over 10 times. I'm very pleased with my step up bars for my truck, fair price with a quick turn around considering they came from L.A. I placed the order over the phone on Monday and paid in full including installation. I was given two options for an installation appointment on Wednesday, which was two days later. (Today) I chose the 9am slot rather than the 3pm slot thinking this one hour installation would get me out of there quickly Why only 3 stars? This place opens at 9am, I was there at 8:55. I check in at the desk and the kid, Oscar tells me that my truck would be ready at 3pm. No,no,no,no young man, I have a 9 o'clock appointment I'm not not waiting 6 hours for a one installation and reminded him that I had already paid in full two days prior. So Oscar says he'll put in front of everyone else. Ok My wife and I take a walk to Parkway Plaza for coffee and then to get something to eat. We get done and walk back to the shop arriving at 11:30. I'm not seeing my truck so I walk to back to find that they had just gotten started on the work. I stood there and watched the guy work on it for awhile then went back inside. We finally got out of there 12:30. Apparently appointments mean nothing to these guys. Once again it was only a one hour job. read more

I was a huge pain in the butt deciding what lift I wanted for my truck (sorry Elias), switched between two setups and then back to my original setup due to it being the more affordable option at the time. Elias was super helpful and got me all dialed into a perfect setup for my truck. I expected him to be annoyed with me which I would understand haha but nope, he was cool about everything. I recently decided to purchase a new truck for the upcoming desert season so I decided to come to ORW in El Cajon to get some work done. When I walked through the door I was greeted immediately by a friendly guy named Sean. He is a big guy but not intimidating at all, I felt comfortable with him right away. I explained what I was looking for and he gave me a few different options. I decided to go with the Fox 3.5 bypasses. They were within my budget and Sean said previous customers had been pleased with them. He put in the order and I brought my truck in the next day and they did the work super fast. I felt it to be my civic duty to write this review. I wish I was an isolated case, but I know multiple folks who made the same mistake of trusting this sales staff and the technicians to upgrade their truck, only to leave them stranded and wishing they invested somewhere else. Don't expect to get anything done here without being a very squeaky wheel, especially for warranty work. Last year, I asked the sales rep to recommend me a lift I needed for my 4X4 Tacoma. Without even looking at my truck, I was issued a 3" lift and I was told it would be perfect. I took their word for it. A week later, I bring my truck in as scheduled after all the parts arrived. Instead of completing work that day as I was told, it was several days later that I received a call saying they ripped my fender skirt off during alignment. . . Hmm, "thought there would be more clearance than before, that makes little sense", I thought. Sure enough, the lift they recommend translated into 1/2" of actual elevation change. With the increased wheel diameter, it only created less clearance than before. . . I had to wrestle with management, who admitted this was the wrong kit and that my truck carries too much weight for the lift they recommended. I was then forwarded to a kit that was an additional $4K to install. I had to leave my truck with them for a 'couple days' to make it happen. Long story short, THEY HAD MY TRUCK FOR OVER THREE WEEKS after I dropped it off. I checked in every day to see what the new story was, because they never gave me a courtesy call to update the status of my main transportation. "We're really booked up right now" was the common response I would get, as if I was not a paying customer with a scheduled appointment. . . I picked it up and drove the truck for 6,000 miles, with maybe 100 miles of off-road. 16 months later- All four shocks leaking, bolts falling off the arms. I go in for re-torque and have them inspected. The very first question I am asked regarding my 'offroad conversion' is 'Well, were you using it for offroad?' I also am told that the warranty on the shocks are only 1 year. . . Dumbfounded, I demanded that ORW replaces/repairs the shocks. They have told me that the rear ones were bent beyond repair and that I should use Beilstein instead and they get to keep my old shocks for 'warranty trade'. The rear DIRT LOGIC shocks were over $500 and they want to replace them with $150 shocks, and charge me for it! In the end, I paid $650 for $150 worth of shocks. DONE WITH THESE CLOWNS! There are other folks to bring your business to. Do a little research, you'll find them. read more

I'm back here, 08/30/19, to get an alignment done to my 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon Recon Edition. This has got to be the worst alignment I've ever gotten. I just installed new coils on it and figured they could dial in my control arms since all eight are adjustable. When paying for the alignment I ask for a printout with the final numbers after of all the adjustments that were made. They said that they were unable to print one. I was told that they adjusted my pinion angle and caster. I'm gonna assume they adjusted the toe as well. But when I got home I realized that the front drivers side coil was almost making contact with the front swaybar link. It was so close I could barely fit my pinky between the two. The passenger side had about an inch of clearance between the two. So I went underneath the Jeep and measured the lower control arms on both front drivers and passengers side. The drivers side lower control arm was almost 3/4 of an inch longer than the passenger side lower control arm. How is it possible to align a vehicle when the front axle isn't square? So after leaving my Jeep there for half a day all I got was having to pay $162.50, a steering wheel that wasn't centered and trying to figure out how to fix this. read more

I stopped in here because I noticed I was missing a bolt from my rear stabilizer bar. The guy that helped me was initially helpful. He came outside and took a look at what I had going on, then came and checked the books to see if it is something they have or can order. Then oddly he took a 2-3 minute long break (with a fellow employee?? friend??) to talk about washing his helmet. After living in California for over five years, I still do not understand the general lack of customer service that haunts this state. Anyway, turns out this is not a part they have or can order, but they said they could come up with something. Okay cool. I figure all I really need is a bolt, so it wouldn't take a rocket scientist to find me the right bolt. Then they say they have to put the vehicle on the lift to figure out the bolt. Considering my vehicle is lifted about 9 inches already, and the bolt area is very easily accessible, I thought this was kind of odd but went with it. They had me sign a form saying I give permission for them to check out my vehicle, and the cost of doing so is zero dollars. So I figure, no risk. Twenty minutes pass, and they tell me the vehicle is done. They did not ask permission to put the part on, they did not offer for me to do it myself (I may be FEMALE but I can, in fact, put on a bolt). In fact, they "informed" me that I have $1000 worth of repairs that need to be made on the vehicle and said "but the good news is you only owe $45 today.". So they charged me for a half hour of labor even though I never told them to put the stupid bolt on. Then they try to make it sound not so bad compared to the supposed $1000 worth of other repairs I need. I asked them for a copy of the repairs they claim I needed and the guy working seemed very reluctant to do so, and then told me they would email this to me. Of course, this email never came. Makes me think they were trying to get one over on me... an honest shop should have no problem telling you what you need done. Maybe other locations are better??? But I know for sure I will not be returning to these ass clowns. read more

I made the mistake of giving a big job to a shop I hadn't used before. I needed a light bar, fog lights, a dimming/temp/compass rearview mirror, ground wires, a rear sway bar, and a tow hitch installed (I provided all the parts, which added a degree of difficulty to the job). I also asked that all the lights be aimed after the install. The first time I came to pick up my vehicle, the fog lights were installed upside down, the ground wires weren't connected, the switches for the light bar and fog lights were mounted sloppy, and the sensor for the compass was wedged between the headliner and the mirror mount upside down (giving the wrong direction on the compass), not held in place (it should just snap onto the mount). The headlights were at two different levels. The fog lights weren't mounted where we had discussed exactly, which I don't fault them for because it was a custom install, and to their credit, they offerent to remount them on a different day (free of charge). When I brought the vehicle back the 2nd time (out of 4) to have the fog lights remounted, they relocated them but they were at a 45 degree angle pointing at the ground. You couldn't even see them if you pulled up to a wall unless you were about 3 feet away. When I went to adjust them myself, I saw they mounted them in a way where you couldn't access the adjustment screw. Again, to their credit, they offered (free of charge, again) to correct the mistake. (They also corrected the sloppy switch mounting) The 3rd time I brought it back and they mounted the fog lights correctly, albeit one is aimed slightly lower than the other, but I will just adjust that myself (but it speaks to the lack of attention to detail). However, about a week later, the rearview mirror begins to lose power intermittently. Again, they offer to fix it and I bring it in and they correct it. By this point (4th visit), they inform me that the tech who worked on the vehicle first has been let go because of multiple mistakes in addition to my vehicle. So again, to their credit, they took corrective action. A few days goes by and I go to turn on my fog lights and there's no power... the light bar too. At this point, I decide I'm not interested in a 5th trip to the shop, so I trace the wires back myself and find a connector wasn't secured well and had fallen off. I also see that they spliced the same wire twice, the first splice didn't work, so they just left it there unconnected next to the "working" one... very sloppy. The customer service is excellent... if you use this shop, work with Allen, he did an excellent job of managing this disaster and trying to make everything right. They got the fog lights in the right location with a custom mount and didn't charge me for that labor. He really tried to ease the pain of all these mistakes and he is the sole reason this is a 2 star and not a 1 star review. Unfortunately, the actual work done on the vehicle doesn't warrant anything higher than 2 stars. As I said, they let the tech go who did the original work, so maybe it was a fluke. I really don't like trashing a shop, especially one that really did work hard to "make it right", that isn't my intention here. read more

No one in SD could help me but Gabe went out of his way to help try to get the shock fixed and to reach out to everyone he knew to find a replacement shock. I have four off road vehicles and just starting to fix them up and now I have to find someplace else to install the winch for this bumper or raise my cherokee. The headlight filler plates were reversed and the grille was hanging by two zip ties. I understand this is an older truck and i easily ordered new brackets but at least tell me about it. Pry marks and two nickel sized paint chips showed me that there was no concern for me nor my vehicle. I was going to ask for 150 back half the labor but I won't grovel when they don't care. I'm writing this review because when you spend big money on your hobby, you need to know what you are getting. I spent over $10,000 on my 2002 Toyota Tundra getting the rear end hooked up with 18" of travel with fox shocks/reservoirs/and everything in between. They did a front bumper that was absolutely amazing. Everything done on the truck was done right the first time. The turn around time was fast and everything exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend them. Even today I came back years later for some valve cover breathers and the service was still outstanding! You just don't get the service like that these days. I called for an estimate for work on my Jeep. They quoted me a price for parts and labor and said I had to pay at least half up front before they would order the parts. I paid a little more than half and the parts were ordered. Three days later when I thought they were calling me to set a date to do the work, they called to say they made a mistake on the quote and would need to increase the quote by a little over $300. This took their quote from the least expensive around to the most expensive. When I asked them to honor their original quote they said they would not and I could get a refund for my money. I had to go somewhere else which means my Jeep will not be ready on time for my trip because I had to start from square one with a new location ordering parts and waiting for a date to get the work done. I believe they should have honored their original price since the screw up was on their employee who quoted me wrong. read more

Ensure you get an estimate and walk through the details with the sales person and document all conversations. Had work done to my jeep and they changed the work order with out prior authorization. The work I wanted done was not able to be completed with out cutting off welded on brackets and spending another two to three days in the shop after an already overdue four days. No call so I went back and talked to him personally. I let him know what I wanted and even showed him the competes kit and said I have $5,000 and want to get this done. May be a great shop when you have an appointment but don't stop in an emergency. Was towing a trailer from Utah to Arizona when I had suspension airbag problems. They said they only work by appointment, maybe could look at it in 3 hours. They did however recommend someone who was able to solve the problem in 15 minutes. I was initially very frustrated with what I received for the money spent. Longer than expected timelines and complications that kept my truck in the bay longer than it should have been. Fully prepared to give a lengthy 1 star review, I requested to speak with someone above the front desk and expressed my concern and dissatisfaction. I would have preferred to voice my concerns in person but the circumstances at hand prevented it, nonetheless, I wanted to give the shop the opportunity to make things right. Upon speaking with the manager, we came to an agreement to fix the problems that had turned up over the course of a few months of my truck being in and out of their custody. I was informed that I was not the first to have frustrations with certain aspects and assured that certain actions had been taken. As I discussed the areas of concern with the manager, he was looking over the work orders and verifying that I wasn't pulling things out of thin air. Ultimately, the work that I wanted competed was done correctly. Some by the ORW staff, some by another shop. The reason for this review is to show that even though the initial work was only worthy of 1 star, if that, after giving them the opportunity to make things right, I received 5 star performance which balanced at the 3 stars I am giving. I would not turn someone away from them and am glad that I reached back out to them. On one hand I could've eaten my bill and dragged them through the mud, but i still would have had to pay to fix my truck. The manager knows this post is coming and I have left the details out intentionally, dollar amounts and what parts were worked on are irrelevant, the bottom line is, in the end I know the management team cares about their customers and will not allow the actions of those working on the shop floor, answering phones, or in customer service completely ruin someone's view of their establishment of they are aware and can help correct the situation. read more

Probably about the worst place to try to get work done on a truck. First called and made an appt 5 days ahead of time. Told them over the phone what I wanted and they said no problem. Day of appt the call an hour before and say we are running behind and won't be able to complete the job. So I just asked for a few things. Ok no problem bring it in and do the rest next week..... no here is the biggie to me. Long hair guy and the front counter once stated what was going on gave instant attitude and said what the tech and myself didn't make any sense. I almost walked out then but stayed. I asked how much am i paying. He states I don't know lets go look at the truck. So we do. Come back and he prints off the paper and show 5.28 total I once again asked what am I paying. He states I don't know I didn't tell you. Well how can you provide 2 simple services and not know what to charge me??? Very rude CS as everyone has stated goto other locations or even better a different business. Nothing but issues here and they didn't even get to the truck before I gave up.
