Probably the worst customer service in Fresno. The lady working the counter has this "don't ask me for anything" type vibe and won't lift a finger to show you where anything is located in the store. You could literally walk around this place for hours, and you will never hear the words "how can I help you?" or "are you finding everything OK?" Never stepping foot in this place again. However, when the service station was down, each and every employee was very kind, patient and helpful with my printing needs. I had ordered some photo prints from Office Depot two days ago (same day pick up). It turned out I had to pick them up two days later, which didn't bother me at all. I patiently waited the two days, but my pictures still weren't ready. So, I decided to go to Office Depot and asked the photo center lady, who had a nose piercing, politely if she could help me with my order. She immediately gave me attitude and said she hadn't gotten my photos ready because she was "busy." There weren't many people there, so I asked nicely if she could help me now since I was there. She responded, "I cannot help you. You will have to wait until I get to them or I can refund you." I was very embarrassed and ashamed of how rude she was, so I asked for a refund. She turned around and left me talking without giving proper guidance on how my refund would be processed. I waited, and she ignored me for quite some time. After she got tired of ignoring me, she said, "I will cancel your order via email." I was shocked and upset. I understand any job can be stressful and hectic, but you always need to provide decent customer service and be a little more respectful to people. She is definitely not a problem solver. I frequently forget this handy store is just a few miles from home and the office. Recently I've purchased school supplies, monthly planner, printer ink and acrylic table top sign holders. I was dreading looking for the sign holders on the north side of town when I remembered Office Depot. Checked online and sure enough, this store had them in stock. Service is top notch here: you're greeted at the door and they actually want to help you find what you need. Line is never long and the cashier always asks if you have their rewards card or whatever they call it. I've received a few coupons and discounts after I signed up my email. read more

This branch of Office Depot has all the varieties of pens, papers and gadgets which one might expect in such a store - yet even I (possibly an addict when it comes to purchasing notebooks and writing instruments) cannot bring myself to be excited by this store. The staff are pleasant and attentive - I don't think I have ever been here without being asked if I needed help to find something. There are lots of parking spaces for this location (including bays reserved for Office Depot Customers). A steady, reliable outlet; it is always (in my experience) noticeably quiet in a way that reminds me of a museum or art gallery. read more

I make lots of copies. I mean lots. I also live in an area where making lots of copies can get pricey. This is the reason I frequent Office Depot rather than Kinko's, which I find a bit more expensive. I also live in Downtown Fresno, so if I can frequent businesses in the area, I'm all for it. This is why it pains me to write this review. I just left this establishment 10 minutes ago, and I am still bothered by the entire visit. I counted 8 employee's working. 2 of which who had Manager attached to their name tags and only two people were actually working on the register. 1 person was in the copy center and one person at the front of the store at the register. In each line there was about 6 of us, waiting so patiently while employee's on the floor made every effort to avoid eye contact while they busied themselves putting away merchandise or restocking shelves. Now mind you, I'm used to lines, eye aversion and it taking at least 20 minutes for someone to help me in the copy center. What I'm not used to is the sheer lack of enthusiasm or drive it takes to provide even mediocre customer service. I especially found it painful to watch the Manager respond to an employee asking a question with a rather flip " It wasn't me". No, that's not horrible, but it's not uncommon and if you prefer an enjoyable experience while you shop, I'm afraid this is just not the place for it. From now on I'll get in my car and drive a little further and pay a little more for better, more efficient and dare I say quality, service. read more

I love this Office Depot, period. I come here probably 3-4 times a week for mostly Copy Center services, but I occasionally wander around the store and pick up items. The Copy Center gets quite overwhelmed here on your regular day, primarily because this location is downtown. After a few visits, the workers get to know you and your usual routine, which is nice. During those long waits, many staff members have offered additional free services or directed me to another register for a quicker check out, due in part to the long wait. I've never had a problem shipping a package or sending emails for large print jobs, the staff is comfortable with computer geeks such as myself "taking control". I have had employees inform me of discounts and coupons for things I wasn't aware of before, this has seriously saved me a lot of money and continues to. One of the best instances of customer service was a few months ago when I purchased a computer chair. I'd been eyeing this particular chair for quite sometime and it has recently gone on sale. I fortunately found enough time to get to the store before the sale ended, about 45 minutes to be exact, only to find the store closed. This was quite unorthodox and frankly I was sadden because I missed the sale, which ended that day. The next morning I went in to find the chair regularly priced and decided to share with a associate the issue from the previous day. He immediately met with his manager, discussed the situation, and swiftly took the chair to the register discounting it to the sale price of the previous day with a little on top for the hassle. Overall, please cut these people some slack! They deal with A LOT of business on a day to day basis. I have had my bad instances of service, but frankly enjoy most my visits and never dread coming here for a purchase, shipment, or print. read more

I know people have bad days and most times I'm understanding but this guy doesn't need to be working with customers. He definitely deserves to be fired or working in the back away from customers. The least accommodating Office Depot in all of Fresno. Took a document to enlarge but their computer did not have the same font sizes as mine, so it distorted my document. Rather than fixing it, she said it would be a charge to fix it or I could go all the way back home and change it. Also, I could not make the changes because it was not a public computer. It happened to be super busy and there were lots of little details I had to go over, Vanessa the Print station associate did an amazing job getting me just what I wanted and fast. Went in to print a document off phone asked to go to printer follow directions. As I struggled, one came by to see if I needed help told her yes and as she walked by quickly said download to your phone and print. Another young lady came to see if I needed help said yes and then told her she stated oh I have an Apple phone and don't know how asked another who attempted but didn't finished stood at machine for 20 minutes while two employees talked about whatever near restroom and two others wouldn't make eye contact with me. As I struggled almost in tears because this was very important no one responded until I gave up. As I walked out shaking head I was asked did everything go ok. I said no. Put $300 worth of merchandise back to go to another Office Depot. I am glad my school district gets their delivery because their customer service is. It well if your only spending .12 a copy. The girl told me I couldn't even send them the copies and she told me to create an account that didn't even allow me to login into their computer. We waited in line for 15 minutes (my 5 year old, my 7 year old, and myself). We were overlooked and the person next to us was helped first. Then finally after 20 minutes I was asked what I needed. When I told them I was printing from my phone she said to get the cord for my phone. I sent my husband (who was shopping around) to the car... Here is where it gets bad. Instead of waiting 30 seconds for that cord, I was sent to the back of the line! Unbelievable. I waited 20 minutes with 2 very patient kids and they couldn't wait for a cord? Finally we arrived back at the counter (40 minutes has now gone by) the cord doesn't work (my phone was found, but not my files) so the associate had me email it. Really? You couldn't do that to begin with? Instead you sent me to the back of the line. We spent an hour there to print 4 black and white papers. I see there is another review similar to mine regarding the phone cord. This company may want to rethink their policy in the print/copy department. I understand they are extremely busy. Very friendly staff! Everything is quick and easy to find, the lady asked me if I wanted color or black and white print I went with the color and just because the color was a bit off she offered to reprint (most people wouldn't bother to offer) so I appreciate that. For the most part it's a clean and friendly environment but the location isn't the best that's the reason for the 4 stars. read more

I have shopped at this location multiple times, but during this review I had the most awful experience. Since this location is practically located in downtown, shopping at this location during rush hours can be quiet a pain to get into the parking lot. I recommend entering from the south entrance so you won't block traffic. Moreover, I was shopping at this location for printer ink cartridges. Everything went great until I was completely ignore by one of the employees working in the printer and ink section. There were two other customers looking for items in this area; I was the second to be in this area. When I first moved into the ink section, this employee was already helping a customer there. When he was done, he skipped me and went to the customer that came after me. At first, I thought, ok that was weird. This employee completely ignored me, although I was standing next to the customer he was assisting. But it got even more discouraging, after he was done helping the third customer he just worked out of the area, even though I was standing next to the customers he was helping. I got a little upset and said to him as he was walking away, "excuse me sir," I was shocked, he didn't even hear me. So before I got even more upset, I just left the area and try to find a different employee for assistance. In the end, I did purchased all the items I intended to buy. My final thoughts, Avoid shopping at this location during rush hours. If you have time and want better service, I recommend shopping at the Office Depot located on Shaw Ave. I have never been disrespected or ignored at that location. read more

Prices are reasonable and competitive, but it can be insulting to shop and wait for a member of staff to answer phones before assisting you. To top it off: business accounts are screened at random. Problem? Office Depot employees can't even reach their own member services after 5 pm to verify your account, so you're given the option of finding some other way to pay or coming back another day. This is just a FYI kind of thing. This issue was resolved. I get copies made here from time to time (99% of the time because it's close to me). It's kind of pricey (compared to my favorite place: Master Copy Center on Shaw/Cedar). I never had a problem and never noticed they were a drop off for UPS and USPS until I went to print a shipping label (by the way, tape your packages IF you're going to drop it off there: they charge $1 for taping the box.... YES). I shipped two packages that day and one of them got lost (still have no clue where it is!). The package that got lost was a package I was returning for a refund. Since the package was dropped off there and it got lost, I requested a refund from them. After talking to 4 different people, including shift and store manager; and running around from there and UPS and home; they told me they were NOT going to give me a refund because they were not responsible for my package (practically putting the blame on me, but not quite saying it); they are just a drop off and are not responsible for any package. As far as I"m concerned; If you're going to take MY package (drop-off or not) and MY money for taping the package and printing the label: you ARE responsible! That's just me, though. I was infuriated, to say the least. I went back home to collect my thoughts. I contacted Office Depot Headquarters that day via the website under contact us, complaints. I let them know what happened, and got a refund for the package a few days later directly from the store manager, who told me that next time I drop a package off, I have to put the shipping label and handle the package myself (no worries, since I won't be going back). LONG STORY SHORT: A package I left at Office Depot was lost (don't know who was to blame: Office Depot or UPS, but I left it with Office Depot, so they're responsible in my opinion). They didn't want to give me a refund. I contacted Office Depot's Headquarters via email and got a refund. Again, this is just FYI if you're going to drop a package off at Office Depot or if someone is going through this and not sure what to do. My issue was resolved after about 2 weeks, a lot of legwork, and determination. read more

We purchased a printer here recently and now it doesn't work. This Office Depot would not replace their faulty product even though it was under warranty. They wanted us to send it back to manufacturer which would put us without a printer for another couple of weeks. We will NEVER purchase from them again. read more
