Haven't been to Office Depot in awhile. Used to have a business which required me to go often, even had a business account here, yet lately just haven't had a reason - this time, needed to drop something off for FedEx - so that's a lovely service, although I wish they would give you a receipt as proof of drop off; it's a bit unsettling to see them just put your package on a shelf and say you're all done. But anyway. I've thought for a long time that the interior of any Office Depot was a bit dusty and empty looking - in spite of being full! And this location is no different. The furniture in the back especially looks kind of haphazardly arranged. Not very appealing if you are hunting for office furniture. I had fun browsing the school supplies, though, and picked up some cute items, including a fuzzy pencil holder, for a friend. Staff. Must note that the staff here is great. Been to this location a couple times for prints. Usually the process is pretty smooth but the last 2 times I visited they were closed before stated closing time. On google and on the phone the closing time is 8pm but when I visited around 6:30pm one day and 7:30 another day they were closed with no signage or updated hours. Worst Ever. No, really. Usually Office Depot is bland but acceptable, somewhat overpriced but well-stocked. This store felt like one going out of business. There were four staffers that I saw; two at registers, one dude in the copy center, and a manager type. I tried to get the attention of each of them and they completely ignored me, like I was invisible. I finally waited in the checkout line to ask my question and she sighed audibly at being forced to look something up for a customer. Wow. The store was about 15 degrees warmer than the outside temperature, which was 43F. How about some heat? They didn't have the product I wanted, and the cashier gloated when she said, "that's an online-only item... do you own a computer?" What the hell? I've been using computers longer than she's been ALIVE, the snotty little brat. Do not waste your time or energy on this store. They don't deserve your business. read more

I think I saw a tumbleweed roll through here once. On a serious note I don't go to Office Depot for more then the basic things - paper, pens, maybe look at a computer chair. It does give a sense of going out of business because while everything is in its place there is very few people. Despite the vacancy they don't keep the store immaculate which they could very well do considering how dead it is. Their demo computers don't always work, desks have broken shelves, and their displays are maintained well. If you're looking for a quiet atmosphere and nonexistent sales people then this is the place to be! read more

This is a huge Office Depot. It's clean, spacious, and stocked up with most office items that you'll need. I came here with one of my directors for work to stock up on more office supplies instead of ordering them like we usually do. We found everything we needed! The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable of the items we were looking for. Our cashier was polite and patient with all of our items. He even bagged them carefully instead of just tossing them in the bags like others may do. They also offer a rewards system, so right then and there we received a discount. read more

They initially did a notebook print job incorrectly; however, when I talked with the store manager he was very gracious and wanted to make sure I had what I needed. They reran the job and it looks beautiful. Both the store manager and the assistant manager were a pleasure to work with. read more

My story goes... I bought a combo pack of printer ink at the Gig Harbor store. My printer would not recognize the yellow and apparently all 4 ink cartridges need to work for my printer to print. I called Gig Harbor store and they told me the new ink probably had a bad microchip and to bring back "only the yellow cartridge " and they would replace it. Awesome. I grabbed the yellow cartridge. Well I had to run to a different job for a few days in Seattle and my printer is on my Bainbridge Island job. So I called the Tukwilla store, explained my situation, and asked if I could return this ink at their store, I have the receipt. I was told no by the girl (I wish I knew her name) that answered the phone. I asked to speak to a manager and was put on hold. The same girl came back and told me the manager said no returns unless I brought all 4 ink cartridges back. I told the girl that I had asked to speak to the manager, not have her go ask for me. The girl hung up on me. I called right back and a man answered the phone. He got a manager, Brittany, right away. Brittany was super polite, no issues with the return at all, and said no one had asked her anything about any ink cartridges. When I got to the store I asked for Brittany but was told she was on lunch. That's when Alisha stepped in. She heard part of what was going on and happily exchanged my defective ink. She was great. Happy, friendly, and knew her job. Big thanks to Brittany and Alisha! You two are awesome. As for the girl that first answered the phone, her attitude was deliberate. Great way to turn a customer away. If it wasn't for Brittany and Alisha I wouldn't go back to that store. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. I called the print center to inquire about a larger print I wanted done for my mom's birthday. I wasn't set on the size, as I wanted to see what would be the fastest large size they could print. Flexible enough to change my options depending on how my questions were answered. DONT BOTHER DAVID In summary, the person in the print center named David seemed very busy. Too busy to answer any questions but hungry enough to let me know he was about to go on lunch. Evidently, not eating gave him a massive attitude. Telling me it wasn't his job to help me or answer my questions. He seems to have other similar complaints on yelp already. If you care to read the awful convo, it is posted below. Thankfully I sat in traffic afterward and vented via yelp. CALL TO PRINT CENTER David: "hello hello?" (Busy/rushed voice) Me: "Hi! I'm calling to get some information about larger prints for pick up possibly today. I know you close at 7 (it's now 6) so I thought I'd see if it was an option" David: "I mean, I'm about to go on lunch and there's no coverage so ...." Me: "ok, not a problem, just checking." David: "Well what did you even need?" Me: "I needed a photo printed, about 2ft tall. But depending on another faster option I could change the height. What is your biggest fastest print?" David: "So you don't even know what you want?" Me: "I want a picture printed as fast and as tall as you can, if possible." David: "okay, but what am I supposed to print? You haven't told me!" Me: "A photo. And I can email it, but I don't want to send it if it can't be printed tonight which is why I'm seeing what my options are." David: "You just sound indecisive." Me: "I'm a customer with questions. And you're being kind of rude honestly." David: "I am about to go on lunch and I'm the only one here and there are other jobs that need to er done and it's not my fault you don't know what you want. It's not my job to help you" (In my mind: what in the world is this even?) Me: "Okay. I don't think this is going to be an option. Can I speak to your manager?" David: "what the fu$*?...? You want a manager? Here then..." Manager arrives and is barely apologetic. It was like I was being punk'd. Still no Ashton .... I frequently use the Tacoma Office Depot print center and occasionally the Auburn one and those are both much better and far more accommodating. First I hope Office Depot Corporate reads Yelp because this is written as a service to Office Depot. Second, reading the prior reviews here inspired me to return my purchase and decide never to support this company again. Third, I don't think Office Depot makes money off of people like me, they probably make money off of corporate purchases, so why don't they save money and close all their retail stores. (Store employees, you deserve to work for a better company.) Finally, the trip to Staples in Renton at the Landing is worth it. Suffice it to say that I've been repeatedly dismayed by the service of this store. Even the store in fancy Bellevue doesn't raise the bar. I never bothered to say anything before, but I feel it's my duty now as an American consumer to speak because the competition is so fierce out there, and customer service is now a finely honed branding art that my heart bleeds for stores such as Office Depot who are clearly so behind the curve. My most recent and final sad experience at Office Depot in Tukwila involved the underwhelming performance of both the sales person (young kid who perhaps has left all shopping responsibilities in his life to an adult figure) and the regent store manager (fully formed adult who looks like he has the capacity to know what it is to BE a customer). That manager meant well, but he didn't know how or wasn't authorized to let me know I was valued and to offer me something to win me back as a customer. I literally asked him to win me back! This store is in kind of sad shape. Overall it's clean, but there's so little inventory that they're storing empty cardboard on the floor. If you need a really common item they'll probably have it, but I wouldn't waste time coming here for anything else...unless you're into bargain bins. This office depot near Southcenter Mall is a pretty good location. It's close to Southcenter which makes it easy to get here, but it's far enough away that the traffic is not quite so terrible. This is a large location that is sandwiched between a Barnes and Noble and Total Wine. They have wide aisles that are always very clear, there aren't any open boxes laying around or anything of the sort, the merchandise is always well stocked, and they have a large variety of a number of the stationary supplies - which is what usually brings me here. In particular their washi tape selection and their index card paper. The staff the last few times that I have been in have been extremely helpful. There is one woman who is usually a little rude, and one or two others that are a bit awkward - regardless of that, they have always been very helpful. While the prices are a little high - they sometimes have promotions for $10 off of $30 or $10 off of $40 so make sure you scour the internet for those before you head over there. read more

I have come to understand that in today's world if you are a younger man and with the rampant theft going on everywhere you will find that store employees and security may keep far to close an eye on you to make sure you don't steal from them. This sucks it feels really bad and uncomfortable but I accept it. What I can't except is never having been in a store before and with my COVID mask on being told I have been recognized from having stolen from the store I am inside of and being told I have to leave and in front of other people what blew me away though was that it was the store manager who said it to me I told him he was mistaken then when he did not back off I asked how he could accurately go about having a solid I.d on me with a face mask on my response was him taking out his cell phone and saying leave or I call the police. An even longer story left fairly long already I left the store before the police made the same mistake. I like to do business with this location because it's closer to home and they have most friendly and helping hands available when visited the store several times. However, not all employees have the same attitude when it comes to help out their customers. Today I visited here for an simple job but learned later that the person was too lazy to do the work he took in. So I came and thought they done. They were sitting on the same location. It turned out he didn't do it. His co worker ended up doing his job and the job he thought I have to turn in 24 hours in advance it turned out it only takes 15 minute to do. I'm mad at this employee. The one star is for lazy on his part and he was kind of rude and not friendly to begin with when I approached him at the counter for info. I hope he wasn't a manager he sure lazy and buy time. He's wasting my valuable time. The tall gentlemen and the nice lady who work at the counter were right on with customers services when they are there. They were nice, friendly, and make sure their customers happy with their work. If you go there ask for them and you will see what I mean. Great customer services helping business moving forward. I ordered a printer from Office Depot for my parents' house. I did a lot of research and during the pandemic, printer availability is sparse but I found what I needed online at Office Depot! When my dad and I installed it, we kept getting a message to reinstall the black ink. At this store location, we got the help we needed! Alisha, the GM, was incredibly patient and helpful. She and my dad were able to troubleshoot that the problem wasn't with the printer but just with the black ink cartridge (as we hoped, thank goodness). Alisha waited for the printer to be fully set-up to assure it was just the ink cartridge, replaced the black ink cartridge for us, and unplugged a now functioning printer. We were dreading repacking the printer, creating a label, printing up the label at FedEx, sending it off, and go back to searching for a new printer (since the one we bought is now out-of-stock). Alisha made a frustrating situation to a pleasant one, because of her not only will we think of Office Depot for our office supplies (because let's be real, people just order their office supplies through Amazon now) but we know that we will be taken care of. read more

I called the store and let them know I would not be able to make it by EOB on 2/19. The person I spoke with said "as long as you place the order online, the inventory is yours". I ordered (2) of these (on 2/19), the Office Depot website said they were in stock. On the afternoon of 2/20, I went to the store for pickup. After about 10 mins of waiting at the counter, the rep came back and said "we only have 1 in stock". I guess online ordering is pointless for Office Depot, wont be back. Fry's FTW! I bought a file cabinet from here and when I took it to my office and tried to put it together, one of the rails was bent and the drawer wouldn't go on. I brought the defective rail back to the store and John looked at the rail and went in the back and got one out of another package to trade me. He told me I could call and get one sent by the company but it would take 7-10 business days. I really appreciate John for taking care of my needs and having the part sent to the store to replace the defective one. Great customer service from John! read more

I emailed documents to be printed for an event and they waited until the next day, late afternoon, to say that couldn't get it done and it would take 2-3 days using the paper I requested. I went in to have some paintings scanned. I knew it wouldn't be a professional, color-corrected job, but just wanted some digital copies and I could do all the editing myself. The first time they were awful! When I went back in, they we SO very helpful, did a fantastic job, and absolutely made up for the inconvenience. Went in for printing on a Sunday about 45 mins before closing. There was no one else there and the guy said it was too close to closing to get it done before they closed. It seemed off but, I figured maybe he had some other projects. He said it should be done next day and they would call when it was ready. He noted the latest would be Tuesday. Monday came and went as did Tuesday. Called on Thursday and got the same guy who took my order. His response was, "I don't see it here, I don't know what happened? Let me call my coworker and call you back in 10 minutes". He never called back. When I went to check out I noticed that one of the staff members was standing around doing nothing. I assume they were taking a break, but they didn't say anything when I walked in their direction. He said, we don't carry them, did you look online? Well, no. I called you. I came in to get some copies done and sheets laminated for a project I was completing at work. I went to the copy center and waited for assistance as the sales associate appeared to be helping another customer. While I was waiting, the sales associate David, looked up and saw me and said "Can I help you? I don't know you need help if you don't come over here" I came over and told him I thought he was helping the other lady to which he replied, "I can help you both at the same time. What do you need? Do you have a question?" Every time he spoke he had a rude and demeaning tone to his voice. I told him that I needed some sheets laminated and then tried to explain to him what I needed printed (I admit that my request was sort of complicated because I didn't know exactly what size I needed). He proceeded to tell me that He's not a mathematician and he was rude and seemed unwilling to help the entire time. He was also rude to the lady that he was helping at the same time as me and she ended up confronting him about it and his excuse was that he's from New York. Eventually he printed out a sample for me that I could take with me to see if it would be the right size. I was there for over an hour. The next time I came in David was there again. I told him that the sample he printed was too big and I would like to see if 2 feet high would be the right size. That was too small so I figured 2.5 feet would be perfect. Every time I asked him something it seemed like a chore for him he would sigh and make some kind of rude remark. He said that it wouldn't make much of a difference between 2 feet and 2.5 feet because he would only be adding a half an inch. We argued back and forth because I was trying to convince him that 2.5 feet would be 30 inches not the 24.5 inches that he was typing into the computer. He said to me "you're still not getting it are you?" I was ready to just walk out of there but then another sales associate, I believe her name was Lesley, noticed that something was wrong and came to help. As she was walking towards us. David seemed to realize I was right and quickly changed 24.5in to 30 in so that when Lesley asked what was wrong he just told her "she wants 30 inches so I put in 30 inches" as if he were doing the right thing the whole time. At this point David had to go to lunch so Matias took over. Matias was wonderful! He got everything printed out for me and they look beautiful. He was very helpful and was able to figure out what size I needed by looking at my diagram (David was unable to do this and said he's not a mathematician). Up to this point I wasn't going to complain about David and was going to let it go. But my third experience with him pushed me over the edge. I realized that I wasn't given my USB drive back so I called to see if it was still there and I got David on the phone. I asked him if he could see if my USB drive was still there and he said "well we don't throw them away. You can come look through the box if you want.' I asked if he would look for me before I make a trip over there and he replied "No!I'm not going to look through all of them. There's a lot. People leave them here all the time" I said "well that's not very good customer service. You should be willing to help me since it was your store that didn't give it back to me." He said "I didn't forget to give it back because I'm not the one who dealt with you" I said "you did deal with me I remember you" and he said "oh ok if you remember me then what's my name?" I mean really, how rude and unprofessional is this man? He has no business working in customer service. If one of my associates treated a customer like that they would no longer have a job! I realize that it would be a lot to look through all of the USB drives but the way he dealt with the situation was horrible. I would've been fine with "I'm sorry but there are a lot here and it would be difficult for me to tell which one is yours without knowing what it looks like. Will never go back! Second and last time in. First time 3 weeks ago to have blueprints enlarged. I was 3rd in line at copy/business center with one person working the area. After helping one lady she stopped to chat with a coworker for a while that passed by, then emptied the wast basket, etc, ignoring the lady in front of me. After 10 minutes with still two people in front of me not helped, I left. This morning I came in to purchase a set of permanent markers. Store was empty. I went to the section of marker and was looking at different products when a sales person came by and grabbed six boxes of markers where I was standing. It was a blatant ruse to see if I was stealing markers or sundries. Really!!! Then at the checkout the register wouldn't work so had to go to next register which charged me twice for the markers which she didn't catch, until I pointed it out, then took more time to try and take the item off, Then the debit card reader wouldn't work, so thankfully I had cash which took longer since she had to redo the transaction. So to buy one pack of markers it took almost 15 minutes at the register(s). How is place still open???? I will make the extra drive to Staples in Renton where plenty of help at business center and knowledgeable staff. read more
