There is tons of aisles full of interesting toy ideas for kids. I like that the toys are created by teachers. They had a couple sale items which were a good deal and they offer coupons too which they are happy to help you sign up for at the counter. It ended up saving me $30 :) The store itself is located in a run down strip mall but inside it was clean and the staff was very friendly. They have tons of teacher supplies here as well as some nice books on a back wall. Overall it was a good place to go for Christmas shopping and I'll keep it in mind for kids upcoming birthday presents.

I had some speculation that the new B&N was going to be small and cramped, but that was not my experience this morning. They used half of the space or slightly more of the leftover Gordman's building, and they did it wisely. There are so many nooks and quiet spaces to check out a book and get a good taste of it before purchasing it. On the right-hand side is a Starbucks and a small table section to have some matcha, latte, or even a tea. There's a lot to take in, and I can see this B&N being a great place to escape the insanity of Eagle Road and relax. The staff was welcoming, and I especially liked watching one of the employees in the back kiosk help an elderly customer. Can't wait to go back and explore some more of the mystery and horror sections.

But the aroma of coffee greeted me on my walk in the door for my first visit to the newly opened second location in the Treasure Valley. This store located in the outer mall at The Village (next to Nordstrom Rack on The Boise CoOp side of the mall) is a bit smaller, or seems so, than the behemoth older sibling in Boise but also maybe more welcoming as a result. The layout is a little confusing first time in. I didn't find anything intuitive about the location of things in various spaces in the store, but that same thing might be said of all of the B&N I have shopped in the last thirty years. The friendly staff was working hard in the face of near overwhelm number of people lined up to buy books on the day I was in, but it was not that long after their November opening and I'm sure buyer crowds even out over time. PARKING: Lots of it in the mall lot. ACCESSIBILITY: B&N is a chain store so knows the rules of ADA compliance and follows them for an accessible shopping experience for disabled shoppers. Of which I am one. INTERESTING FACT: B&N opened 55 new stores in 2025. So much for the demise of bricks and mortar book sellers in the age of Amazon. PET PEEVE: People who park their posteriors at the tables in the store's Starbucks to work for hours on end, thereby making the tables unavailable to store customers and in particular a pox on those single customers who spread out on a 4-top table.
