We needed help with printing machine that wasn't working. We put money in the machine, because you have to do that to even use it, I guess. Then it wouldn't print what we needed printed. When we asked the employee for help, he said he knew the machine was broken but said he was too busy to help. I asked why they didn't have a sign on the machine if they knew it wasn't working. He just looked at me, told me I could go to FedEx down the road, then turned away from me. I asked him how I get my money back that I put in the machine. He turned around and said it'll be refunded back on my card in a couple of days. Literally zero help. Thanks my guy! If someone in charge happens to see this, maybe have a talk with the guy with the long hair in the printing department. While he's on the clock, he does actually work there. I came in to get a document printed. I was told I could use the self service. I tried.. ask for help, the guy said he couldn't because he didn't have any experience with Android phones. I needed a specific poster. I was told it could be done, but in-store staff wouldn't help me. They told me how to do it online and how to enter special instructions. Product I received was not what I wanted and they won't refund my money because it was a custom order. So now I'm out $225 and don't have the product I wanted. Waste of time and money! read more

I work for a nonprofit and send mailings out every month. OfficeMax is my go to for print needs. The staff are helpful, friendly and efficient. Megan, Ebony and Will are stellar employees. This year I wanted to try designing my own Christmas card on Canva and printing. I saved more than $100 by printing at OfficeMax instead of Shutterfly. It did not take me long and I'm really happy with the result. Just a heads up that what the website says is in stock for the store is not always accurate. The customer service at the Monroeville Office Depot/Office Max was horrible. Earlier in the week we purchased this desk from the Greensburg location and went to buy another. The desk was sold out in Greensburg so we went to Monroeville to see if they had one . For context, our house has 2 people who work from home. At the Greensburg location we purchased this desk for $263.00 on sale, and with a 15% member discount. For the same desk and same sale we spent $309.00 at the Monroeville location. We asked the general manager, Dixie, to honor the same discount. She said she said no, and called Greensburg and told us we were in the wrong. On top of this, it took about 30 minutes to get an answer from the workers on the floor and they (we asked 2 people) told us to just wait til they were done with their task, removing the sale stickers from the floor, even though the sale doesn't end until Sunday, and this was a Saturday. The service was horrible and I will not be returning to this store. After tax and warranty, and Dixie not honoring the 15% discount we received at the Greensburg location, we spent $56.00 more for the same desk and warranty at Monroeville than at Greensburg. For the sake of your wallet, mental health, and nicer customer service, just drive the extra 20 mins to Greensburg. read more

This was my second visit in the past few months. Had a return without my receipt. Was very apprehensive. Cashier Desmond pulled up my transaction immediately, processed my return, and when I gathered up the correct products, he rang me up. Fast. Professional. Offered suggestions, like the fact that Office Max provides rewards for recycling ink cartridges with them. (HP gives nothing for recycling) Store is clean, neat, well-organized with fast checkout. There are many sources for tech and office supplies. After two perfect visits to Office Max, I won't even look anywhere else. Why? Everyone prices things the same. I bought a new laser printer in spite of the terrible salesman and cashier. The salesman made me feel like I was bother to him after I looked for anybody who can help me. When I didn't bite for the extended warranty he was sure to tell the cashier in a disgusted voice to be sure he marked that the warranty was discussed with the customers and he declined. The sales price was exactly the same as the price on Amazon.....and Amazon shipped for free. I think I won't be shopping there again. By the way, I had a similar experience about a year ago when I bought a new computer. Should have learned my lesson. read more
