We were here for the soft menu opening. I am so excited for this place!!! The food is unbelievably good and the service and attention are incredibly passionate. The restaurant is new, so they are still working out some kinks on timing, so it's important to be patient. They will start lunch service and brunch soon. The menu is really excellent and tailors to many different tastes, really embodying the "world cuisine" In the title. Chips and salsa were brought to the table right after you sit down. Drink orders come soon after. The cocktails are incredibly creative, tasty, and potent. Remember to designate a driver beforehand or you could get carried away and end up in an Uber. My favorite surprise was finding a picture of the crazy girlfriend in the bottom of my Captain Lawrence IPA. We had: Chicken wings Coconut shrimp Lobster bisque (with grilled cheese) Spaghetti carbonara Jerk chicken Jollof rice Chicken tacos (corn tortillas) Each dish was absolutely fantastic. Warning on the jerk chicken - it has a serious kick for the faint of heart. Also, the chicken was dark meat only (personally, my favorite, but may not be for everyone). Chicken wings weren't spicy at all and not overly crispy, just how I expected them. They were perfect. I wouldn't have minded extra spice, but they rocked, nonetheless. The lobster bisque had a ton of flavor and you could get little bites of the lobster throughout the bowl. I thoroughly enjoyed the soup. The grilled cheese was a nice touch for those that like to dip. Jollof rice had deep flavor and A perfectly cooked texture. The chicken tacos come in soft flour tortillas and also had great flavor. The coconut shrimp were off the hook. They were crispy, with a sweet taste of coconut, and were perfectly matched with the accompanying dip. Kudos to the all gender bathrooms!!! Walter, Tara, and Jessica made us feel right at home and were incredibly friendly. We would come back just to hang out with them. There is a great private room in the back that's a bit quieter than the main area, which was very loud and rocking on this first night. The private room has a great chandelier and potential. All of the food is GREAT here. You can really tell they use quality ingredients. My fish is always crispy, fresh and NEVER bland. The jerk chicken is delicious...a perfect fusion of flavors from across the globe! The calamari...don't get me started . I wish I took a picture of the fufu and goat soup! We order food from here 1-2x a week, it's that good! I saw this place as I was walking by and decided to check it out. Wow. A Mexican, Caribbean, African, and American fusion restaurant. I have never had food like this before in my life. I wasn't sure I'd like it. I didn't like it. I LOVED IT. As my entree, I ordered goat peanut soup. The savoriness of the soup was complimented by some earthy umami from the goat, which was nice and tender. The soup had a rich broth with rice and solid chunks of meat mixed in. It was very filling and hearty. The soup was served in a small, hot, metal pot with an empty bowl next to it and a ladle. What you do is dip your ladle in the pot and spoon it into the bowl yourself. The metal pot keeps your soup from going cold in the bowl. For dessert, I ordered the fried banana cheesecake. I wasn't sure what to expect. I thought it would be a slice of New York cheesecake with slices of fried banana on top. It was actually a slice of cheesecake made with pureed banana and cream cheese that was deep-fried and topped with chocolate syrup. It was positively decadent. It was definitely sweet, but not overwhelmingly so. I definitely liked it. They had a live DJ there. It was kinda cool. It's nice to have some music while I eat. My only complaint was that it was too loud. If you get easily overstimulated, I'd eat somewhere else. Otherwise, the music was kind of a nice touch. Overall, I'd give this place a 10/10. The vegetable was so scrumptous I had to work at not eating it all at once! The house salad was very good but I might ask for the dressing on the side in case you don't like it so moist. We ordered tacos [not quite ready to order their Ghanan cuisine] and got 3 tacos per order -- small ones but really tasty. The owner Lawrence Ofori came around to be sure all was OK -- we love that. When we asked about some of his Ghanan cuisine, he brought us a small dish of his curry rice to try. It was very good. There's only one complaint: the background music was so loud -- too loud for us! Luckily we were able to sit at the window...far from the speakers. Although still crazy loud, it was manageable. My wife and I ate at Ofori last night, and I wanted to leave a review while it was fresh on my mind. The food here is spectacular; the best meal I've had out in a very long time. We started with the calamari and the jerk chicken wings. The calamari was cooked perfectly. Likely the best calamari I've ever had. The wings were also excellent; the jerk sauce was smoky, sweet, and spicy all at once. Delicious. I had the ox tail. Mind blowing good. Despite being a restaurant, the ox tail felt like a home cooked meal. The jollof rice it came with-addictive. So incredibly delicious. My wife had the branzino. The spices used were unlike anything we've had. I'm not a branzino fan; next time I go to Ofori, I will likely order the branzino. Additionally, Mr. Ofori is extremely nice, the ambiance was chill, the service was exceptional, and there is a parking lot within 25 feet of the restaurant. My husband and I had a FABULOUS meal at Ofori last night. Great service: we were welcomed warmly at the door by the bartender/server who took great care of us all evening--checking in just often enough. The chef even came out at the end of our meal to make sure we had enjoyed it--such a nice touch. We had a very hard time deciding what to order, but were SO glad we ordered the calamari to start--perfectly crispy and served with two great dipping sauces: marinara and a to-die-for-but-didn't-kill-us-with-heat habanero sauce. We settled on the fried burrito (amazing flavors and served with a garlicky sauce), and fufu with spinach soup and the fish of the day, which was a perfectly seasoned red snapper.
