Also known as Ogden Car Care and Transmission. I had some work done at another garage and was pleased. Asked for a quote for brakes and was given what I thought was a really high price. Called Ogden Car Care to get a second quote. They were $110 cheaper. We are trading in the truck this year so was more concerned with price. We took the truck in to get serviced and I told them to change the plugs while they were at it. About an hour later I get a call from the owner. He told me that it would cost over $100 to change the plugs (they are hard to get to) and that it wouldn't be worth it if I were going to be trading the truck in in the next few months. I'm thinking who does that? Telling a customer not to do something because it's not worth it. Most garages would have done that and found something else to charge me for. The work was done in the time they had told me and done right. Brakes work fine and I am really pleased with the professional service and that they actually looked out for me. 5 Stars and you have my business and personal car work from here on out. read more

I was experiencing driving issues that, to me, seemed transmission related. I called on a Saturday, and although they weren't open (by appointment on Saturdays) Mike still answered the call and talked to me for about 30 min while I rambled about what was going on. He tells me to bring it in first thing Monday and they'll run diagnostics. Drop it off at 8 AM Monday, and around 10:30-11 AM Mike calls me to tell me the synopsis. It's not the transmission, it's a cylinder misfire. He then recommends me to two gentlemen at a shop in La Grange that CAN help me with what's going on. When I pick up my car to take it to his recommended shop, he says I owe him nothing. THIS IS HOW MECHANICS SHOULD BE!!! Mike is the gold standard. While I am thankful I didn't have a transmission issue, I am a little sad I didn't get to give him my business, because I gladly would have, and most certainly would recommend him to anyone else! read more

He explained the process and gave me the quote, which was definitely fair. My car is a 2002 Honda Civic, so he didn't go with the most expensive shocks out there; which many places seem to only use "premier" parts, making it pricier. Had a great experience with fantastic customer service. Mike is top notch and made me feel like I was his #1 customer on the phone before I even dropped my car off. Mike gave me 3 options for the transmission repair for my 2002 Honda Accord 1. Replace the transmission which is the most expensive option, 2. Rebuild it which was the cheaper option or 3. Do nothing and buy a new/used car. Given the cost of rebuild vs. actual value of the car, Mike advised that it's not worth repairing and go with option 3. He even gave me his personal cellphone and told me to call him if I had any questions or needed advice while I'm car shopping. Mike was friendly and helpful, and gave us a great deal. When he couldn't get the work done in one day, he comp'ed us the cost of a rental car to get us through. He also pointed out that one of the error message that we were getting was covered under the Federal Emissions Act and that it would be free to get it fixed at the dealer--he could have talked me into paying him to fix it and instead he let us know where we could get it for free!!
