I have never been into Ogden before, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I grew up in Tucson however so I was kind of imagining something similar out of their airport but on a much smaller scale. I was close, but try a much, much, much smaller scale. I flew in through Allegiant Air direct from Williams Gateway in Mesa, AZ. It was a quick flight which I slept through most of so I didn't know we were there until the tires hit the runway. Then the door to back ofthe plane opened which isn't a unique experience, but not exactly what you normally expect either. From there we were directed down a set of stairs brought to the plane and across the tarmac. The last time I actually had to walk across an airport runway to get into the terminal was when I was in Hawaii a few years ago, and I fly a lot, so it was worth noting. The airport has only one terminal as I guess most people fly out of SLC. Getting through TSA was easy enough which makes sense because it's not often angry members of the Church of LDS try to hijack a plane. As long as they don't run out of Mormon Muffins I think anybody flying out of Ogden should be okay. There are only two restrooms in the terminal and two in the main lobby which are down a flight of stairs that inspired the chase music from a Friday the 13th movie to play in my head as I descended them. The men's room was clean, but not something I would want a kid to go into alone. There was just something creepy about it. The airport could fit inside of a Sprouts Market with plenty of room left over. It closes at night, as they only run a few airlines out of there I think, but for convenience it's super quick to get in and out of and I had no complaints. read more

Terrible!! First our plane alevo was delayed for 2 hours and then when we got to Ogden airport they only had one ramp to disembark a plane. There was another plane there and we had to wait at least 45 minutes. If you are going to be an airport then have more than 1 ramp to disembark!!! Poor!! read more

Super small. Super fast. Super convenient. I love this airport. I've been flying out of here quite often over the last year, and it's so very hard to go back to the big airports. Right now Allegiant Airlines is about the only major carrier here (although I did see a small Delta Connection flight here?) and so the choices are very limited. But if you have the opportunity and are willing to roll the dice on Allegiant, it may be worth it. First, there's only one big flight leaving at a time. The most I've ever waited in line for ticket and security is about 15 minutes. There's never going to be a bigger crowd when you just have one flight leaving at a time. I wouldn't recommend it, but I've shown up 30 minutes before departure and still made it in to the gate area and waited to board. The whole thing is a walk of 50 yards, from parking to ticket, to gate. Second, parking. Right now their parking system isn't installed, so parking has been free over the last year. Eventually they're going to make it a priority to fix it, but until then, it's free! Even when it was (?) running, the posted rate is $3.50 per day. Third, security. They're so nice. No barking. They look you in the eye. There's only one line, and they're super thoughtful. It's human. It's humane. Other bonuses: The Auger Cafe is in the airport. If you want some down home diner food. People stop by just for that, as it's not past security so anyone can eat there. I haven't tried it, but just looking and smelling it seems like a nifty little local joint. The men's restroom is amazing. I mean, it's just weird. You go down the stairs and land in this big lobby with a black and white checkered floor. There's nothing in that part of the restroom. Then in back there are a couple of stalls. I swear I remember a shower there, and then in the back by the urinals there is a door that time forgot. I have no idea what lies beyond it, but it may open the portal to an alternate universe. Or just be storage. Either way. One thing I wish was different (and this is not the fault of the airport) is the public transportation. I once flew out of Ogden but back into SLC, which left my car stuck at the airport. I hopped on FrontRunner and made it to Ogden, but there is no transportation from the FrontRunner station in Ogden to the airport. There's a bus that gets you sorta close, but you still have to hoof it a mile or so. I love this little airport. Although Allegiant has been hit or miss (mostly hit, to be fair) the airport is perfect. read more

Drove from SLC to pick up a passenger and waited an hour in the parking lot while the plane sat on the runway the entire time. Waiting for a ramp. How about unload the plane that takes 10 minutes before the loading the one that doesn't leave for another hour and a half?! read more

LOVE LOVE LOVE this airport, love these tower ATC guys. They make it easy to fly in, easy to learn, they are infinitely patient with beginners. Flew into Utah for wedding thru SLC airport but flew back to Phoenix from the Ogden airport. First thing we notice was how tiny this airport was. We were hungry and thirsty and not one restaurant inside. They only had two vending machines that took cash only. Checked in our luggage. Black guy aka Uncl Tom?(I'm of color so ya)was very rude and verbally loud with me as I showed my id and boarding pass. Then I was "selected" to do a body search on(probably cause brotha was so loud with me). My husband jokingly said "bet they gonna check inside our checked bag too". Sure enough when we got home and opened our luggage, there was a note inside from the TSA saying they went thru our checked bag, sorry for the inconvenience. I'm normally not the one to bring up racial profiling, but I felt I was singled out as soon as I walked in. Just from the tone of how they spoke to me and the stares. By the way, I was the only person of color on that flight. Worst unprofessional airport staff I've encountered. Stay away from this small, outdated place. Hopefully, I never have to fly back to this state. read more

I have flown to and from Mesa AZ/Ogden three times. Two times out of the three, I have been stuck in the Ogden airport waiting room for upwards of four hours. This most recent time, the Allegiant plane that was supposed to come had had a bee infestation. The problem with waiting in this airport is that once you are in that waiting room, there are no amenities besides a single bathroom and two vending machines. One has soda (no water for sale). One has Sun Chips and chocolate bars, and often it doesn't take dollar bills; so you put the dollar bill in the soda machine to get change and then put the change in the other machine. This is a metaphor for the entire place. Rinky-dink and not quite functional. To be fair, the Allegiant flights are cheaper than Southwest into SLC. The other problem is that the ONLY rental car service with cars on site at the airport is Budget. If you rent from Hertz and call the information line (for Hertz), they will tell you that cars are on site (because there is no shuttle service listed in the information page; therefore, they must be on site, right?). This is COMPLETELY FALSE information. The cars are located down the road, at 1805 West Riverdale Road, about a 7-10 minute ride away. There are no taxis out front waiting to meet flights, so you must call for a cab or UBER, which takes up to 20 minutes. I strongly suggest that if you want to save money and use this airport you bring substantial food with you (not just a light snack) and use Budget if you need a rental car. read more
