I had a planned C-section with my doctor, and I'm not going to lie--I was nervous at first. I had heard this hospital was small, but also that they offered a more personal, 1-on-1 experience. Since this was my last baby, I was really hoping for something better than my previous births with my other two daughters. Let me just say--it was the most amazing experience I've ever had. I was treated with such care, like a close family member was looking after me. The staff constantly checked in to make sure I was okay, explained everything clearly, and truly made me feel supported. My baby stayed in the room with me almost the entire time--only leaving briefly for a few necessary tests--and the nurses were kind, patient, and incredibly understanding. Honestly, it didn't feel like a regular hospital at all--it felt peaceful, warm, and focused on me and my baby. If you're on the fence about coming here, I say go for it. I 100% recommend this hospital--it was a beautiful way to welcome my last little one into the world. read more

My nurses were arguing about how my test should be administered, doctor never called me or spoke to me during or after the test, and the offices REFUSE to call me back. NEVER GO HERE. A couple of years ago, I was in a terrible accident as we admitted to the ICU at Ogden Regional. Everyone was fantastic. So naturally, when I needed some specialty care via radiology, I assumed my experience would be similar. I was completely wrong. It is almost impossible to make an appointment, and when you do, you are required to wait at least 1.5 months to get in. Each time you arrive, you must check in with registration and fill out 22 pages of information-even if you were just there a few days prior. Nothing transfers, the same mistakes must be corrected each time and the receptionist does not care about your concerns. On top of the ridiculous paperwork, they tell you to arrive 30 minutes prior to your actual appointment, which means if you are prompt, you end up waiting an additional 30 minutes for no reason. The MRI techs are apathetic and question your decisions, i.e. I have severe allergies and declined a portion of the MRI due to allergy concerns. The tech and the receptionist had a conversation about me and my choices in ear shot of me and others in the waiting room. To make matters worse, I was given incorrect information about the scan. The scheduler told me no food for 8 hours prior to the scan, which meant I could not take my migraine medications prior to the scan. When I ended up with one of the most severe migraines I've ever experienced and had to stop the scan, the tech told me I could have eaten before and taken my medications. That sure would have been nice to know. When I stopped the test due to the migraine, the techs didn't ask me if I was okay, nor did they help me as I was dizzy and on the verge of vomiting. I sat completely alone in the locker room trying to regain my balance and get to my feet. When I did get to my feet, I was given directions to the front door, not even a question as to whether I would be okay to make it home. I've had several other MRI's prior to this one and have never been treated with such disrespect or apathy. They clearly do not care that someone under their care is experiencing a medical issue. I cannot believe the difference between in-patient and out-patient care at this hospital. Now, I am trying to reach radiology to schedule a procedure appointment. I was promised a call days ago and when I call now, I am directed to voicemail and no one calls me back. I will be looking for another hospital. read more

I had to go here for a blood specialized blood test. They did it wrong the first time and had to have me come back because their lab tech messed up. Ogden regional promoted an intensive therapy program that they described as 6 days a week 6 hours a day. So, I signed up and paid $4,200 cash because nothing else has helped my PTSD. When I showed up it was only 3 days a week, 3 hours each time. It wasn' t intensive therapy, it was behavioral modification. I told them it wasn't for me. That's not what they sold me. It's bait and switch. So I asked for refund of my money. Because I was lied to. They committed fraud. They are charging me $2,300 for the 3 hour class that I sat through and already knew everything that the goofy unqualified guy talked about. I don't understand any of the negative reviews on here. Every single doctor and nurse has been super sweet and very accommodating the 2x nights we were here for my first babies delivery. I was blown away. Also the baby rooms are huuuuuge here so come here! I'm willing to bet all the pissy reviews are your anxiety ridden, average IQ, entitled dumbass of a person that expects everything to be handed to them. They couldn't get my mother out quicker. She had a seizure and there was something still wrong. They did some tests and couldn't figure it out and just told her to see a neurologist. Next thing we know, She wasn't even lucid and they were making her sign discharge papers and basically pushed her out the door. Even while they were having her sign papers her oxygen levels tanked in the 70-80s and the alarms went off but they still wanted her out. She slumped over in the front seat when they put her In the car and then they peaced out. The nurse also had really strong perfume on as well and my mom is really sensitive. I am still appalled at how they treated my mom and even tho she didn't feel well and wasn't lucid they wanted to kick her out. The quality of care was awful, I'd recommend going elsewhere. read more

I'm totally surprised reading some of these negative reviews. Ogden Regional Hospital is a GOOD hospital. My daughter has been here many times, TWICE on life support. When I say LIFE SUPPORT I mean where they take you to a room and ask you to let her go. Each time I said no. She continued receiving the same level of care regardless. I cannot put a monetary value on the care my daughter received. From ER to the ICU (intensive care unit) and Linda in the cafeteria my favorite person in the entire world, the gift store which I frequented the coffee shop and I can't say enough about the Chaplains who held my hands during those times what would I have done without their prayers. When my daughter went to different areas for test the staff was so kind!!! Did I agree with everything that occurred? No I did not. Once I had an issue with something I did not like and I reported it and the Director of Nursing sought me out to fix it what was wrong. I stayed with my daughter day and night and I meticulously watched the care she received. And her care was exceptional. I cannot express my gratitude to them enough that each time they gave my daughter back to me. Before you judge this hospital because of negative reviews, keep in mind that every hospital experience is different. I called to check on some information on my induction that I have scheduled for the very next day. So UNDERSTANDABLY, I wanted to ask a few questions as I also just recently got a new phone number, and needed to update it for when they call me in the evening to give me a specific time on when to come in. Well, the second the lady in the birthing unit answered, it was answered with an extremely annoyed, "I'm better than you and don't talk too much because I'm cranky" attitude. So immediately I'm already feeling dumb and embarrassed for calling.. Well, all I did was try and keep it short but also ask what I needed to ask. I told her I was being induced the next day, she cut me off immediately as if she just knew what I was going to ask. And she stopped me in the middle of me talking and said "OK YA SO THEY WILL CALL YOU TONIGHT AND TELL YOU WHAT TIME TO COME JN. THATS IT. WE CANT HELP YOU WITH WHAT TIME TO COME IN YET " So, I replied with saying "yes, thats fine. However I need to update my phone number and make sure you guys aren't calling the wrong number. Because the number on file, is someone's whom I don't want knowing about my induction at this time. So I'd like to change it to MY personal phone number so that I don't miss the call and it doesn't cause issues in my personal life by you calling the person I don't want involved right now" well I guess that was too much talking from me. Because she cut me off about 4 times throughout me trying to explain that to Her, and she spoke over me multiple times just repeating herself saying "yep. Ya the number is changed. Ya I changed it so would you like me to transfer you to admissions now?" And I never felt so stupid and talked down on before. All I was doing, was trying to confirm personal information. Followed with an explanation on specifically why I needed the old phone number removed, because I wanted to make it clear that I did not want the old number being called and that it was really important that I made sure it didnt accidentally still get called for whatever reason. But she did NOT care. She changed the number, and that was that. She didn't want to hear anything else I had to say, she wanted me to just shut my mouth. I get it she's probably exhausted but this is a really important moment for me and the last thing I need is to be talked down to and treated that way by one of the birthing staff. Now I am extremely worried and stressed that I have now picked the wrong hospital to deliver at. If she could treat a random pregnant woman asking about her induction, wantimg to just verify things so that I don't miss the phone call that I need in order to know what time to come in and avoid a family dispute by them calling the wrong number , then I can only IMAGINE how I'm going tk be treated the second I arrive. She was awful. I wish I had gotten her name. Be kind people!! I get it. Youbhate yournjob. But don't go talking down on and cutting off an excited mother to be who's just trying to work out her birthing plan with ease. Now I'm too worried to even give birth at this hospital and I just hope and PRAY that the rest of the staff treats me with more compassion, kindness, and respect when I go in to give birth. read more

We went to the Emergency room early on Feb 18. We were wrangled for payment before the doctor came in the room an hour later. They did a lot of tests and made a diagnosis. (WRONG diagnosis) They said they would forward the test results to our doctor that we gave them. (They never did). We went to our doc no info, a specialist, who got half. They sent bill, calls, texts, about money...pay the bill. But they wouldn't get the info on most of the tests to anyone to even prove they were done. SIX weeks before, I was able to get into a site to download/print out the results and hand walked them over to our doctor. This was long after we had tests redone and a procedure done to help resolve the health problem. The hospital may be good but avoid the ER. It's the worst experience. read more

I had an absolutely horrific experience with the staff at ORMC ED. I was dehumanized and treated with such disrespect that it's nauseating to think about now. The staff withheld information from my husband and refused to update him on my condition as a punishment to me for not wanting to complete one part of the treatment. During my almost 72 hours in the ED, many basic necessities were denied, I was rarely updated or even spoken to about my care, and I only saw a physician one time, and that was after I complained I hadn't seen one yet in the 48 hours I had been there! The staff were dismissive of my concerns, condescending, and outright unprofessional. On top it all of this, housekeeping never showed up during my whole stay, even when requested and my floor was FILTHY--it turned my socks black walking across it one time in socks. If you want quality care then I would urge you to seek help at literally any other hospital in the area. read more

I couldn't figure out if this was a hospital, or a clinic, or Dr offices. I had a Dr's appt. and this is where GPS told me the exact location was. GPS couldn't tell me which building it was, so it took me a few minutes to find the office. After I located the suite for my appointment, I decided to walk around to try and find a snack shop, trying to kill some time. I found a very small gift shop on the main level that sold snacks and gifts. When I was looking around I caught the tail end of the conversation between a customer buying a bottle of sprite, and the store manager selling coke. "You know" said the customer saying something about Mormans shouldn't be drinking Coke, but how they own part of Coke. (A rumor I"ve heard for years.) Basically she wanted the gift store to stop selling coke, but sprite was ok. The store manager said that she sells to all people, not just certain religions. I had to bite my tongue because I didn't feel like getting into a brawl over soda I don't even drink. I got my snack, and walked towards my appt. There was a bit of construction going on. I don't know if it was a remodel, or if they were fixing something. On my walk around I saw a man in a hospital gown, that was the only indication this was a hospital. It reminds me of a small town clinic. Definitely not a hospital on a grand scale. read more

Came here after switching doctors halfway through my pregnancy. The staff was all VERY friendly and understanding which I love! I was getting a little queasy through the middle of my appointment for whatever reason so the nurse took the time to make sure I was alright, let me sit up for a minute and grabbed me a glass of water to drink. I felt MUCH better after that. I am not a fan of doctors just because I get nervous and scared of what is going to happen to me, but the staff made me feel comfortable and not at all awkward. My adult son was admitted to Ogden Regional Hospital with hallucinations and unable to stay awake, extreme diarrhea and trouble breathing. His sodium level was dangerously low, his blood sugar 450, double pneumonia, and eventually diagnosed with C.Diff, pneumonia, sepsis, and concerns of meningitis. I spent most of his five days at the hospital with him. Miscommunication by the staff and the next morning when he was assigned a doctor, she had not heard about hallucinations. Proper protective equipment (gown and gloves) were not used consistently by staff. It would not surprise me if a C.Diff outbreak didn't occur during his stay between June 28 and July 3. As a retired executive housekeeper I was appalled at the lack of housekeeping. His room was not cleaned until the third day when I went directly to the housekeeper on shift and asked for a cleaning be done. She complained of being short staffed, and did a quick bathroom and floor cleaning. No surfaces were sanitized. Five days and housekeeping was done twice, both by request of myself. The night before his discharge he was moved down to level one. The room he was moved to hadn't been cleaned as evidenced by the strong smell of urine both in the bathroom and the bedding, complete with a pubic hair or two. He demanded a cleaning and bed change. His bathroom was cleaned and linens brought in to change his bed. They set the clean sheets on the dirty bedding to wait. He requested another set of new linens, as the clean sheets were now contaminated with whatever the previous patient had. He needed to request they wipe down the mattress (standard for changing patients). It was the first time he was given a hospital blue pad, well after it needed, but at least they used it properly... once. He was discharged without blood thinners to avoid clots from the pic line that delivered antibiotics to his heart. Two days later he went to (thankfully) IHC Instacare for chest pain and left arm pain, and was again sent to (thankfully) McKay ER, where it was found he had a blood clot in his lung, and one in his armpit. I have never seen such appalling housekeeping and lack of communication in an established medical setting. I would avoid Ogden Regional at all costs. read more

They won't even give me my records to go to another hospital, Ive been fighting them for MONTHS!!!!! Since August of last year these greedy hounds have been trying to milk me dry for services. Don't go to them. Go to McKay Dee instead. You'll get better service. I got dinged several hundred just for a 5 minute visit and a blood draw. One of their clinics won't even START treating you until you pay almost $300 upfront. That's stupid. Stay FAR AWAY from these blood suckers. I wasn't even fully treated for my wound, I had to let it heal by itself, and that took months, because no one could get a hold a general surgeon to finish the job. They outsource to a shady outfit called Emergency Physicians Integrated Care (EPIC) that your insurance company will not pay for even if this is an in network hospital for you. EPIC comes up with an outlandish amount owed. They refuse to send an itemized statement when asked. They send the alleged amount owed to a shady law firm they are in cahoots with that will shake you down. Because you signed forms with a tiny paragraph about the possibility of outsourced doctors, you are on the hook. Forms shoved in your face as you're having a medical emergency & no one discloses this information to you. What a damn racket! We were forced to change to Mountain Star hospitals due to our insurance, and I am really wishing we could have stayed with IHC. This facility is old, rundown, and just not very nice. The staff was good but the hospital itself is not in good shape, regardless of some face lifts that have occurred over the past few years. The new laminate flooring is peeling up all over the hospital. I saw a lot of dead bugs in light fixtures and a lot of dirt in the corners and on top of cabinets / lighting in the check in area. This is a hospital and while some dirt in the registration area probably isn't going to affect my care, it looks really bad. The layout of the hospital is confusing and it takes a guide to get to most places. The restaurant was horrible. The smell of old grease hits you before you even get to the room. There is a "grill" area with an extremely limited menu and a Subway sandwich shop. We ordered breakfast at the grill (I won't say ate because we didn't eat it ) and it was just plain terrible. Like really bad. The bacon was the only redeeming factor and everything else was just bland and not prepared with any care whatsoever. Everyone we encountered at the hospital was nice and caring, but the facilities and amenities were lacking. If you have a choice go to the other hospital in town. read more

My wife had abdominal pain on a Saturday night so we went to the emergency room. It was dead that night (no pun intended). They have an automated system so we filled out my wife's info, waited less than 5 minutes and they admitted us. The Dr was also in our room within the first 10 minutes. My wife ended up having a kidney stone. They had to do a ct scan and had her drink summer study fot that. All the staff was friendly and made sure she was as comfortable as possible. They gave her various meds fit the pain and nausea. Great emergency room in my opinion. read more

My brother spent 5 days at Ogden Regional, diagnosed with Covid pneumonia. In those 5 days, his bedding was NEVER changed, nor was he given a bath. When he tried to get to the bathroom to try to wash himself, he was berated by a nurse for getting out of bed. Someone with pneumonia should have clean sheets daily and also be washed down. I had to have a pelvic ultrasound done and since Ogden Regional is "in network" with my insurance and the cost they "claim" they charge seemed fair, I went there to have it done. To my surprise, I was billed over $2000!!!!! Unfortunately this isn't my first rodeo with this procedure. I've had two done at McKay Dee. NEVER have I been billed what I was billed from Ogden Regional. Completely unacceptable. Highway robbery! Will never go back. But my bad for going in the first place. When my daughter in law delivered here, first baby, I had to raise my voice to have her checked after 36 hours of labor!!!!! They just kept giving her "shots" to "stop contractions" which wasn't working! The nurse kept assuring us that the monitor they had hooked up to her were tracking her contractions. Well it wasn't catching the BACK CONTRACTIONS. And when I FINALLY convinced the nurse to check her, she pulled attitude with me and said "fine"! She went in and immediately ran out yelling "quick, we need to move her to delivery, she's at a 9"!!!!!!! YA THINK?!!!!!! Yeah thumbs down for this place. Oh and billing wouldn't budge. When we were getting ready to have our second child we learned that the hospital we delivered our first at was not in our insurance network. I was anxious and upset since I already knew what to expect at McKay-Dee. When I read the reviews online about Ogden Regional I was even more upset. I read some negative things about the labor and delivery unit but decided to keep a positive outlook and go tour the facility. The nurses at the front desk were incredibly friendly and gave us a wonderful tour. I had a lot of questions and they took the time to answer all of them. I left feeling a bit more positive and less anxious. Eventually, I had to be induced here and I cannot say enough good things about the labor and delivery unit here. When I showed up for my time the nurse (Ashley) took me to my room and got me situated. She was awesome and was with me through my delivery. I do want to mention that McKay-Dee is a beautiful hospital and a bit more updated with larger rooms but my experience at Ogden Regional was far superior. My room might have been smaller but all of the nurses, doctors and staff I encountered were kind and professional. My room was clean at all times and everyone was constantly checking on me and baby. I had an awful experience with my epidural at the other hospital so that was my main concern here. Ashley assured me that the guy administering the epidural that day was fantastic and everything would be ok. She was right I couldn't believe how smoothly everything went. The entire staff treated me like I was important and not another number to them and that really made a difference for me. I feel very vulnerable during the recovery time and to be treated with care and respect is huge. I actually teared up multiple times because I was so happy to have such a better experience here and vowed to leave a positive review. I'm a bit late leaving that review but I remembered! If given the choice now I'd select Ogden Regional to deliver at! read more

My Dad was admitted for Covid pneumonia and stayed 5 days. They never offered to help him shower or clean him up. They never changed his bedding. The nurse yelled at him if he got out of bed. There was one night they wouldn't bring him any water. The doctor called the nurses a bunch of idiots which is completely unprofessional! My Mom had surgery this last Dec 7, 2020. With Dr Jordon... she was in hospital 7 days. The nursing staff was so kind and and attentive...want to thank Kierstan and Rachel....these are the two nurses that I got to work with...I was in the room the entire night. Update: I contacted Ogden Regional as they requested. And.....they did absolutely nothing!! The visit was deemed "appropriate" and the bill stands as is. No worries about the complete lack of communication from the doctor ‍. I will be changing insurances the fiat change I get so I don't have to go back to this horrible hospital!! I'm so frustrated by my daughters recent ER visit. Her pediatrician had sent us there because my daughter had a bump behind her ear and she thought it might be a bone infection. We walked in and they took us right back, no one was in the waiting room. They took her vitals and the doctor came in for literally less that 5 minutes and said it was a swollen lymph node. I told her what my daughters pediatrician said and she didn't even respond to me. My daughter is 14 and her blood pressure was 150/98. I told the doctor she had had high blood pressure in the past and recently stopped taking medication. Again, beyond glancing at me when I was talking she didn't even respond. I told her pediatrician what happened (she had me text her right after the ER visit) and she could believe they didn't even do bloodwork. She feels so guilty about sending us there. And to top it all off I got the bill today for over $1300 . Are you serious? For maybe 5 minutes of doctor time, we we done in 15 minutes. No wonder Ogden Regional says their wait times are better. A hospital would have to be either very good or very bad to get reviewed at all; Ogden Regional Medical Center is not only very good, in my opinion, it is 5 stars good. I had my knee scoped here a couple of years ago (I and the knee are doing well, thank you) and today I was back with a family member who was undergoing a procedure. Okay, I don't know if today was an outlier or maybe the corporate quality team was on-site doing an audit or something but the staff were on. As we came in the lobby they were out in front of the admitting counter, smiling and offering to help. Sort of like the way car salesmen stalk and pounce when you are at a car dealership, but in a good way. And they really were helpful and seemingly sincere. Good parking near the door, check. Well-trained, consumer focused staff, check. Now if they only had a Subway sandwich shop in the lobby it would be a grand slam. Wait a minute, is that a Subway over there? I'm sick of doctors that are afraid to do anything. I was brought in by ambulance because I threw up blood and passed out. Im a disabled veteran with lots of health issues they dont know why i have the bleeding episodes or passing out episodes. Wife trys to explain this but pretty much ignored. Ive been dealing with this for 20yrs. The first Dr did give me meds and numerous tests. The nurses are amazing. After a few hours nobody came to check on me, my pain spiked again. No help but in fact when he comes in he says test look normal for most part and don't know why I had the episode. Duh, I already knew they wouldn't find anything. They refused to help bring my pain level down anymore because it would sedate me me. Gee, I'm sorry I need to use your bed a little longer, yet the druggy down the hall gets to sleep in the hospital bed all night. Yet the disabled vet gets the shaft. I wasn't even offered a wheel chair to help me to my wife's car. She had to help carry and steady me down the hall. I almost fell again as I was leaving. So ogden regional you can kiss my ass for the lack of care, respect, and complete disregard. My pain clinic Dr, family dr, specialists all tell me to go to the ER if I'm really bad. But nobody wants to help me. God forbid I take a bed for a bit, need pain meds ,and a little understanding because my situation is unique. I'll so enjoy paying my copay as a double insured person. You are a joke of a hospital. read more
