Weird experience. Was at the bar next door (longshots) and saw a cigar shop next door. Decided to check it out. I am not new to cigars. At any given time I have several hundred cigars at home. Have gone to most of the shops in phx and never had an experience like this. Ambassador has the best selection by far in town, next is Churchill's. Stick to those places. Okay, now yo the review. My experience: Walked in, immediately asked "how may I help you?" In a non-friendly tone. I thought I had walked into a private establishment with that kind of question. As if it wasn't a retail place and he thought I was lost. I said that I'm just browsing. I walked into the humidor and not 60 seconds later he comes in, asks me again how he can help me. My first instinct was to ask if he wants me to leave since he was lurking and seemed uncomfortable with me being there. It's like he suspected i was trying to scope the joint. But, I say, I'm browsing the selection. He leaves. Less than 60 seconds later he's back. Asks me again how he can help. Then he says he doesn't have any opusx (I didn't ask for them). I then asked if he had any anejos. He says "I haven't been asked about those in years". Now I know this guy is a complete joke. Some of the most hyped up fuente cigars, that most retailers will limit to 1-2 per person, and no one has asked you about them in YEARS? I politely thanked him and left. The humidor: stale, no air movement. Could smell mildew. Cigars with wrappers had water inside the wrapper, looked like a foggy bathroom mirror. Cigars without wrappers had white mold on them. Some of the newer stuff didn't, likely they hadn't been opened long enough to develop it. Stick to the padrons if you are desperate and must get something here. Seems to be the only thing that moves based on the lack of mold on them. The selection: absolute trash outside of padron. Not a single tajuaje, or liga privada. One unopened box of illusione, bunch of house brand trash. Did have some fuentes, nothing special. Also a few tabernacle. Hands down the worst cigar shop I've gone to in the phx metro in 15yrs. In an industry that relies so much on customer service, I'm surprised it's still open considering all the bad reviews on here dating back several years. Tl/dr: 1 star is generous. Waste of time. Went to the shop to purchase some cigars and smoke in the Lounge as it was blistering hot outside. Upon entering, I was greeted by the owner. He asked if he could help me, and I replied that I wanted to purchase some cigars and smoke them. He then told me to 'help myself' in the humidor, but that I could only smoke them outside, as he didn't want smoking at the Lounge at that time. I walked out shaking my head!! read more

mmm, I don't think so. We smoke every week, sometimes twice a week. We are regulars at Cedar Room and Torch but I was super happy knowing that we would probably have a cigar shop at walking distance in case we want to smoke on our balcony. That's until we went there and immediately decided we wont go back. I'm all about supporting local small business but this place seemed like it got stuck in time. Run-down-looking, damp, old school looking, hot inside. The humidor room was too warm and smelled like mold, and the selection was pretty unimpressive. Service was lackadaisical and I felt like I had just walked into a room with three men and a dog watching tv, disturbing their afternoon get together. Sad, but we won't return. read more

This comfortable little cigar shop is hidden in a strip mall next to an off-track betting bar and a nail salon. The leather chairs are perfect for enjoying a smoke after rifling through the well-priced selections in the humidor. Mike, the owner, is incredibly friendly and doesn't mind if you want to pop in a movie (which they have quite a few choices readily available) on the flat-screen and eat your lunch while you kick back. Keep an ear open for when they have a customer appreciation day. The last one included free pizza, a cigar, scotch tasting, and a soda. Can't turn down a find like that! read more

I've been to a lot of cigar bars and this is my favorite by far. Excellent place to have a smoke and spin some yarn. Michael Jaye, and Pete always have something to talk about. Next door to an OTB if you want to have a smoke while you watch the ponies run as well. Great selection of Padron 1926 and 1964 which is tough to find sometimes. His prices are not crazy and they have all the things you need to enjoy a good cigar. I would recommend this place to anyone. read more

I came into Oggies since I was told it was one of the better shops in Scottsdale. When I walked in I was greeted by one of the owners and asked if I needed help. He was helpful in letting me know what they carried when I headed to the back they had a small selection and a lot of the cigars I liked had been sitting there for quite a while since they wrappers were brown and had dust on them. They also didnt carry a few brands that I like but the owner stated he can get what ever I wanted which was good to know. Overall its a cool little shop but not enough selection. I did like that the staff was helpful though. read more

Went to Oggie's to get my husband a great cigar. I was interested in the Padron maduros and they helped me select the perfect one for my husnband. I got the 1964 anniversary edition and my husband loved it. So glad I went to Oggie's no one else in the valley was so friendly and so informative in helping me make a great decision for the best cigar for my husband. Great place & great staff! read more
