I love that if you're coming in to buy something other than a cigar, despite the fact that there is a lounge it does not envelop you in smoke. I posted the picture of the lounge because I've been coming here for years and never noticed it until today! Granted I don't buy cigars, but it's usually open so the door is closed. Today I got to peak inside. If you're buying a vape they let you try it to make sure it works before you leave. Limited selection however. read more

I like this shop quite a bit. The humidor is rather large, well lit, and well stocked. They tend towards the high end and the prices reflect it, but also have a few "house" sticks at a good price, and a few other basics. The employee I talked to, and I didn't get his name, was SUPER helpful and friendly. He really understands his stock and is obviously in love with his craft and the store. There are also a lot of accessories, and a lounge that looks pretty nice. I didn't have time to smoke in the lounge so I just had a look. read more

They probably have what you're after. I admit I am easy to please: a carton of American Spirit Gold will comfortably get me by for a couple of months, and comes with a free lighter. I'll buy a bic just for the times I've misplaced the other. They will greet you, ask what you're after, get it, share a joke or listen to one, and they respect your time if you're in a hurry. Around 5:30 PM, today (1/12/21), as I was pulling into a parking space, a man in an orange Charger with Washington plates was getting out of his vehicle. I noted that he wasn't wearing a mask. I waited for him to put one on before walking inside. He did not. I finished parking, put on my mask, walked inside, & looked around to see said gentleman without mask inside the walk-in humidor. So, I asked, "Is there a reason why he's allowed in here without a mask?" The oh-so-lovely young man behind the counter responded, "I don't know; why don't you ask him. I'm not the Mask Police." I pointed to the signage on the door, "By order of Maricopa County." I completed my transaction & left. It is what it is, but just to be clear: a man from Washington State went into Owl Ear without a mask, and he then entered a hermetically sealed room, walked around while breathing & touching various cigar products. I never go into the humidor, so I'll leave it up to other customers who do shop from within the humidor if they're okay with this. Just for context, I've been an Owl Ear customer since May 2014, and have always had a great experience. Everyone has always been friendly & helpful. Not sure why the young man this evening was a bit of a smart@ass, but he needs an attitude adjustment when it comes to his role within the retail service industry in terms of mitigating the spread of a deadly virus. I went to Owl Ear Tobacco yesterday and was dismayed that none of the employees, particularly clerks behind the counters, were wearing protective masks. I purchased two cartons of cigarettes' and had to ask please would the clerk take a step back to maintain a six foot distance because she was not wearing a mask. She sneared at me as though I was being a problem but she did take a step backwards. I asked why she was not wearing a mask and she replied that it wasn't required. I am in the most vulnerable category of people that would probable die if I contracted the Covid-19 virus. You would think that the management of this store would be more considerate to their patrons. read more

I originally stopped in to Owl Ear to pick up cigarettes. The first time I went in and asked for two packs, I had to do a double-take when they told me the price. Two packs of premium smokes for around $10.00. Those are 1980's prices! I mean, at most places, you'll pay that price for one pack by itself...so, I was immediately a fan. When I went back a second time, that's when I really got the opportunity to take a look around and see Owl Ear for what it truly is...a bad ass cigar place. Lots of people don't appreciate cigars, and who can blame them...they are quite pungent at times. But when you walk into Owl Ear, you're greeted with the aroma of really nice cigars being enjoyed in the cigar lounge in the rear of the building. This area has couches and televisions, and looks to be a fantastic place to sit down and relax with a nice stogie. To make things even more inviting, the cigar lounge is not exclusive to cigar club members. It's open to anyone and everyone! Owl Ear offers a fantastic selection of premium cigars, premium cigarettes, lighters and smoking accessories, as well as BEAUTIFUL humidors! Cigar afficianodos take their cigars very seriously, and settle for nothing less than the best when it comes to housing them. Here, even the most particular cigar smoker will be sure to find the perfect humidor to house their collection. I was in a rush as I was leaving this last time, so I didn't get the particulars for what appeared to be a cigar storage program. The sign DID say something about $365 worth of cigars for paying for your one year membership. I'll have to investigate further the next time I visit...which will undoubtedly be sometime in the VERY near future! There is no doubt that this is by far the cheapest place you will find good cigars in the valley. Because it's on the reservation there are no taxes. It is hard to find because it sits in the farthest corner next to Hi-Health. Lenny is the head cashier there and he is the definition of helpful in that place. He is knowledgeable and thoughtful. Even though it's a hike from where we live, it's worth the drive. The cigar storage room is not intimidating at all. They'll come in with you and help you through the selections, if you need assistance. And there's no pressure. The cigar lounge in the back is not too big but very comfortable and well-lit. Free water and soft drinks and newspapers in the smoking lounge plus lots of big flat screen TVs. Very casual atmosphere in the lounge with a few regulars there bringing in their lunch and others just sitting there for hours on their laptops and cellphones. I came to smoke and watch the D-backs game on TV and I was the only one out of about a dozen patrons interested in the game... Hardly any conversation in the room. Not my favorite place to linger as it feels too much like a Starbucks lounge with most folks using laptops and earbuds - and there is constant in-and-out foot traffic in the store lobby as most folks coming/going just to grab-n-go cartons of no-tax cigarettes. In fact there are three 10 minute parking spaces right in front to accommodate those who want to quickly pop in-n-out. If you are looking for a good place to grab a cigar while you work on your laptop - or just want good pricing on your tobacco products - this is your spot. Arrived to find a very well stocked humidor and people working who were awesome. Professional and helpful. Their prices are the best I've seen in the area as well. I used to come here for the good prices, but today one of the guys was really rude. My favorite brand was on sale, so I decided to buy 10 extras. He told me I couldn't, because these were Black Friday prices. If I wanted more than the 4 I'd already grabbed, I'd have to come back on Black Friday. First of all, if they are Black Friday prices, why are you giving me 4 at that price? I didn't come in and see they were on sale, I came in and looked for that brand in particular. Second, I won't be around on Black Friday, and told you I couldn't come back then. You didn't listen, and repeated that if I wanted more, to come back on Black Friday. I told you that I wouldn't, as I put the 10 cigars back, and you said "In that case, unfortunately, we won't be able to sell you those first 4" Very nice. read more

This place is a wonderful additional to the Scottsdale Pavillions. Not only are they reservation prices cigarettes but the store is beautiful. Very inviting. The Cigar bar smells delightful. There are comfortable chairs, televisions, and interesting conversation always happening. But above all every single encounter with the staff has been exceptional. Very friendly people. Always reminding me about my free lighter with my carton. Even remember my brand. My husband had started smoking a Pipe, and this place has a lovely assortment of loose tobacco, and pipe accessories. I picked up a great ash try/pipe stand for my husband for Christmas. It's nice to purchase cigarettes without the snarky comment from the teenaged gas station clerk, or the disappointed mom behind you buying her kid funyons and mountain dews. My dad and I had a couple of cigars and the ladies hung out and talked after a while they wasted a cigar so I went to get them one and lenny gave them an amazing cigar out of his own locker then have me another for me. The staff are extremely helpful and the atmosphere is always welcoming! I've never taken advantage of the cigar lounge, but a younger fellow who worked there spent like 20 minutes helping me fix my Zippo lighter!
