The closest thing to an actual spa, there is, for a nail salon. As clean as an operating room, staff is super friendly and accommodating and reasonably priced, where you don't worry about how the staff are getting paid. The music is always in keeping with a spa atmosphere and instead of watching news or annoying talk shows, which is the furthest thing from relaxing, they show how particular treatments are done, which is interesting & again, in keeping with the esoteric of a salon. Skip. Skip. Skip! I've gone here a while and always had small isssues never enough to not come back. Today I was cut , and there was lint all over my freaking light pink nails! I could still see the red polish in some places from my previous manicure. I got one redone but as I walked out realized the whole thing was fucked. 40 dollars for gel and 30 for pedicure is way too much money for it to look like a toddler did it. Plus there's always holes!!!! Or air bubbles. I did ask one finger to be redone and they fixed it for me but I got home... there is still "lint" on it. Literally lint all over stuck in the polish. First off, she kept trying to convince me to get gel and get another set of powder after I repeatedly told her I'm only here for a regular manicure. Next instead of actually "soaking" my nails off, SHE DRILLED IT OFF! And it was pretty painful pulse she cut my fingers about 5 times. Then finally when she did my manicure, she ended up not even taking off my tip that I had gotten with my last set of SNS powder. Horrible. Worst pedicure ive ever received, the woman kept walking away & filed and painted my toes unevenly. To make things worse they threw my shoes in the wet pedicure tub next to me instead of moving them next to my chair and they were soaking wet. They didnt understand how to fix 2 of my sisters broken powder nails with an extension. I think some of the negative reviews are competitor salons. It's possible. This place, my second or third time here, is actually pretty damn good. I came in today and know I will spend a few more bucks than where I wanted to go (but they had no availabilities) but that's fine - the price I will pay for my impatience. Lol. Yuni took care of my manicure and Pedicure and she was sweet, professional, and quite good/detailed. Monica gave me an awesome and impressively strong 10 min back massage which I normally pay $10 for, but here it's $15. But it was worth it. Could I nitpick things? Maybe. But who couldn't ANYWHERE you go. Also... Don't reviews depend on the reviewer as well? I have as high of expectations as anyone else. Absolutely dreadful!!!! I used to go to this Salon pre pandemic and always had a lovely experience. This time I asked for the SNS powder, despite the price being extremely expensive. I was forced to get my nails drilled instead of soaked, which I begged to just let me wait and soak. They were angry, starting to argue with me and were very upset with me? Drilling the powder off damages my nails - I wanted a soak. After waiting the woman did the worst and slowest powder manicure I ever received. It chipped within 3 days (should last at the bare minimum 2 weeks) and I went in to have the nail fixed. I was rudely spoken to and then had to come back at a later date to get it fixed. After my nail was fixed, two days later three other nails chipped. The worst experience and worst powder nail ever!!!!! Do not go back. Do not go there!!!!!!!!! read more

Beautiful place. You walk in and think your in the right spot until the lady begins. Nothing worse than a rushed job with no attention to detail. Then 10 minutes after you sit down they tell you you're finished when they barely even started. Next is the attitude they give you when you don't leave them a tip for what is basically the worst pedicure you've ever had. This place is amazing! I have lived in the area all of my life, but this is my first time here. Everyone was so nice and the place is very large and SPOTLESS which is important nowadays. There was someone constantly walking around cleaning, they checked my temperature, and required me to wash my hands. Angie did a great job! I was nervous about coming out for something like a mani/pedi, but Angie who was doing my nails told me that the employees also get covid testing twice per week which put me at ease. read more

Wanted to love this place but it was only OK as a first time experience. The space is beautiful, spacious and really clean seeming. However, the service felt rushed. I walked in an hour and a half prior to close for a pedicure. The pedi was so fast I didn't have a chance to really relax. Nice polish job but otherwise, not much to it. The technician asked if I was just getting a pedi, to which I expressed interest in a 10 min massage. She looked at the clock and was very disinterested in my request and told me it was "better another time"...they didn't close for another hour! This is my regular nail place. I try to come in once a week and usually only deal with minimal waits on the weekends or before major holidays. They have a good color selection of regular, vinyl and gel colors. Every nail technician does a nice job and I've had maybe 2 bad manicures in the 5 years I've been coming here (odds I would take!) It's very clean and sterile. They always take their tools out of those plastic pouches and line the pedicure chair sink with plastic. They don't have powder gel but they do a great job with the UV gel and have a nice selection of specialty pedicures (albeit they are a bit pricey.) I only come for my mani/pedi's and massages so I can't speak on the waxing or facial services, but any super negative reviews or absolute raves I would take with a grain of salt. This is a dependable, local salon. They also have wifi! read more

With so many nail salons to chose from, it's hard to get an unbiased opinion of which one is good. Well, I was super impressed with OGI- it's a more upscale salon and has a day spa also. I just got a regular manicure and 10 minute massage. The place is spacious, clean, beautifully decorated, the pedicure chairs are latest tecnology and reasonable. It's more expensive than the really cheap dirty places that you risk infection over, but worth it. A manicure is $10 and Monday -Wednesday they offer a mani/pedi special for $25. Wouldnt recommend i ended up spending $20 to take off gel and get regular manicure. The first time the top coat had residue from previous nail polish that left pink streaks on top of my white nail polish. The tech herself wiped off all my polish and redid it using a different bottle. The second time around there r bubbles that formed and left literally holes throughout entire polish. I believe this is because they dilute the nail polish colors with alcohol to make it last longer as a result the alcohol dries faster than the polish n leaves the surface creating a bubble as it evaporates. DO NOT GO HERE! For such nice decoration n spa atmosphere their stingy and cutting corners mentality is worse than any grimy place! read more

This was my first time at this salon. I got a manicure, pedicure, french tip color, and a 10 minutes message. However, when I looked at my receipt I was charged for the hot stone message, which I did not ask for. When I notified the nail technician of this, she replied by saying the that I "misunderstood her" and that "the hot stones are better for me anyway". One of the worst experiense in my life. I gave a word to myself never ever under any circumstances go to Chinese nail salon. They do not have any idea what does pedicure and manicure mean. Usually it takes 45 min for pedicure and 30 for manicure. The specialist has to cut off all cuticles and your skin just for first time looks like a baby skin. In this place they were able to beat up any Chinese salon in NYC. She touched my fingers and pretended that she cutted off rough skin. Bad, worst place I ever visited in my life. Won't go so far as some of the other less than stellar reviews. Full disclosure - I don't come here consistently and my Cuban manicures in Miami set the bar high. Oggi is my back up when I can't get to my usual spot in NYC during the workweek. Here's my two cents: The Yay: - Clean, sterile salon - Super pleasant and friendly staff. Always professional. - Longer than average hours than other local places. And open on Sundays until 6pm. A major plus. The Nay: - For the size of the place, not a lot of nail colors to choose from and many are very similar to each other. Odd. - Quality of the mani and pedi is hit or miss depending on your manicurist. For example, my nail length on each hand is uneven today. Last time, my pedi was full of ridges. And why would I have to remind a manicurist to clean under the nails? - Value. If I pay $10 for a callous remover where the description says it will stay on for 3-5 minutes, I want it on for 3-5 minutes... not 2 minutes (barely and, yes, I'm that person who timed it). So I took off two stars for value and consistency. Go with managed expectations. I'll still come here on Sundays if I have to break the glass. When I find a good manicurist there who avoids these pitfalls, I will update my review. In the meantime, my verdict has been issued. read more

My go to nail salon was booked so I found OGI as an alternative. I asked for the same color of my nails that I came in with. They assured me the color they picked was the same. I wanted a powder manicure. They picked the color that they said matched, but it was completely clear after two coats. They kept reassuring me that the color was correct while doing my nails while I protested. The nail color I requested was a solid white pink where you couldn't see your nails through. Once Teresa knew I was correct she picked a random pink color, completely wrong that I asked for. DO NOT COME HERE FOR A POWDER MANICURE. They have absolutely no idea what they are doing AT ALL. I'm spent two hours there for this, since I was a bridesmaids in a wedding the next day, I stayed - otherwise I would have walked out. I spent 60 dollars and then they insisted on a tip. Horrible nail place and extremely disappointing. They were even rude to the customers that were walking in. Multiple times they said that they should wait 10 minutes. The customers did wait the 10 minutes and then they would said to wait another 10 minutes which turned into a much longer wait time (since I was there for two hours - I observed and customers just walked out more disappointed). Come on with these reviews. I did not have this negative experience at all. My friend suggested I come here, so another friend and I went. I got a pedicure from one woman, and a manicure at the same time from another. Both were detailed and took their time and no one mutilated my hands or feet instead of just trimming cuticles. Another woman did my friends mani and pedi and she did a good job too. 3 women in one night and all were great, friendly and professional. As for someone saying they are a large salon and don't have a lot of nail polish colors... you must be blind because they had a whole big section of them sorted by colors/shimmers/shades etc. also, by your logic a small nail salon should only carry a few colors because it's a small salon. And this salon is huge so it should have 500 colors because they have a bigger space? I don't get the logic. They have plenty of colors. I legit said "do you have jazz" and the woman grabbed it for me. Super simple. Bottom line is I'll be going back, they are just as good as the next place. I received a gel manicure and pedicure today and it was one of the worst ever. Amy, my nail technician, literally completed my pedicure in 7 minutes and that was after she 1. Used a regular nail file on my feet and 2. After she had to remove the first polishing because OGI salon thinned the nail polish so much that it wouldn't properly cover my nail bed. Second, I had a horrible gel manicure that didn't involve a manicure, basically just a nail polish change. She rushed my french manicure and the white paint bled into the pink. To place salt on my horrendous nail treatment experience, she tallied the bill to $60. And I was so very shocked that they had the gall to charge that much for such horrible service. I was in and out for my $38 pedicure in 30 mins. The massage was just her scratching up and down my legs for 5 minutes on ea leg, the hot stone was maybe 2 minutes. There was no massage on your back after you get your pedicure which Is standard at almost all places. They couldn't be bothered to put paper between my toes so they don't smudge again like all other places. was being rushed out of there as if the place was packed. I went in lost, thinking this was my groupon place. I'm from out of town and the greeter said that this was not a Groupon place for Mani pedi, that the one across the St probably was but it was closed Monday . So with that I sat down far away from clients on their bench and tried to re gruop to figure out what to do next , using my phone to sort things out (by texting not talking,) and use my gps. (Do I stay there and keep my Groupon for another time I'll be in area or just get it here at OG? ) Well I was not disturbing anyone nor was I causing a commotion but they "kicked me out " for sitting there after I said I was considering having a mani pedi. there. So Hell no not now! They lost my business and they were very unhelpful nor accommodating. I was simply using their bench to figure out what to do next! So beware! This was very insulting and I don't recommend them if this is how they treat you at the door! There are about 20 places for nails that probably aren't so snooty and insulting! Yikes. I suppose I should have read the reviews BEFORE going to this place!! I was looking for a quick pedicure and passed by here. I went in, and it was deserted, but it was later in the afternoon so I wasn't concerned. I picked out my color and was impressed by the huge salon and tons of pedicure stations. I had Amy, who said nothing more than "pick a color" to me. I sat down and she didn't try and tell me where to put my bag or hand me the massage control. I was almost in a seated position when she grabbed my one foot and started to get to work. Talk about rushed!! There was NO ONE else in there, yet my pedicure lasted literally 6 minutes!! I didn't want the callous treatment, so I guess when she heard I didn't want "extras" I wasn't going to get much! She was ripping at my cuticles on my toes and I said "please don't cut". Well, that didn't work or she just didn't care. I glanced at my magazine and before I knew it, I was escorted to the drying station! I sat there for a few minutes and looked at my toes, admiring how the color was a little "bumpy" looking, like sand was in the polish! I didn't say anything and right on cue, the girl comes over to collect the money. Really? I wasn't standing or grabbing my bag. Must they come and force you to pay as you are sitting there? Then she has the nerve to say "Amy is BEHIND you"...as if to say "don't forget to tip for the lousy service!" After a few more minutes, the man came over and said "you like massagie??' Since he added the "ie" on the end, I figured it would be a light massage. I even specified "yes, not too hard"...Well, I guess that means pull all of your weight into it!! At one point, he was massaging my neck with both hands but they were coming in front of my neck and pushing on my windpipe! If I ever wanted to experience strangulation, this might be the closest I have come to it! Finally, he massaged my back, slapped my arms twice and said done! I was just grateful and relived to be alive, and that I wasn't asphyxiated and tossed in the dumpster behind the place! Not a great pedicure...polish on the skin and some polish missing from the sides of the nails. I will NEVER ever set foot in there again. This could be a nice place, if they took the time to cater to the paying patrons! There was no 'special" for the pedicure either, I might add. I went in there for just a pedicure and paid full price. I probably should have looked around for another salon in the area and gotten a mani/pedi combo, but I figured I'd give this place a shot. I went to this nail salon a day before a wedding with the bridal party. We requested french manicures. The woman who did my nails cut my finger while doing my cuticles TWICE. She also didn't do a very good job on the white tips. I could see that some spots were missed or she didn't put a solid enough line. The manicure also only lasted two days, I'm glad I got the manicure right before the wedding or else I would have had to get them redone. I have gotten manicures before and they usually last at least 5 days. The bride's finger also got cut from her manicurist. Then they cut one of the bridesmaid's nails super short when she didn't even want her nails cut at all. Will not be going back to this nail salon. read more

I've been coming here for quite a while and am usually happy with the results, but after my experience Saturday I am very annoyed. I asked for a regular manicure and was paired with Nicole. She had never done my nails before. Everything was ok until she started cutting my cuticles (which I asked for). All of a sudden I jumped out of my chair, as she took a chunk of my skin out, not even remotely close to my cuticle line.. like mid-finger... and I started bleeding. The bleeding wouldn't stop, now that side of my finger is actually swollen 2 days later. I let out a squeal because it took me by surprise, and it really hurt. All she said was "your cuticles are too dry." This is now becoming a regular occurrence, where they are blaming my nails for manicures not lasting. I used to spend $25 a pop on gel manicures, which should last 2 weeks, and they would be peeling off after a few days. When I would go back to complain, they told me my "nails are too weak." Ok, so give me a regular manicure. "No, gel is better for you." I can't take this place anymore. It's not worth the extra $$. read more

I wasn't going to post a review... but I only even looked it up out of curiosity to see if others liked it as much as I did. I'm so confused by the bad reviews. I am a member of massage envy and have had bad experiences there so I'm literally throwing money down the drain (they charge you monthly whether you go or not).... I bring this up to say I get the best massages here. He is tough though, but that's my preference and I always wish I could stay longer. My manicures and pedicures are always great here and so is my waxing. I find it funny that one person said they don't have a good selection of colors-- they have way more than other salons and so much so I actually sent a picture to my friend as we complain about this in other salons. The only reason I took off a star is because they are understaffed. Otherwise this place is by far the nicest salon in the area. This is one of those unfortunate yelp situations where you really don't know who is leaving a review.
