I went to Sophia thinking it was Sophie across the street which sent a 20% coupon I asked if it was them ahead of time and they said yeah and saying something to the owner. After a horrible pedicure and a subpar waxing they said no that's not us????? They should have honored the coupon since they said it was them!!! This review is mostly important for those who make appointments and have limited time: i made a 12:30 appt, wasn't seen until 12:45 and during the session, the woman doing my nails Stopped to take the Phone and book another appointment because no one was at the desk. Usually I'm pretty relaxed and none of this is a big deal but I knew I was short on time and just wanted a quick manicure. I got the light peach from Essie, see picture below it's super translucent. We didn't have enough time for a third coat or to change the color after we saw how light it was, the woman doing my nails just said "I should have known." It's not about the money more about the time, I shouldn't have stayed just to get clear nail polish & the full nail isn't even painted. -- lesson learned. I'm sure another experience here where I pick the right color and have more time will be fine. read more

Best pedicure I've ever had in my life! For $45 you can strut out with some new feet. My dogs were barking and I hadn't gotten a pedi in an embarrassingly long time. I decided to get the green tea special pedi and it was worth every dollar. You don't feel rushed during it like usually you would and they really care about how your nails look and feel. I was shocked by the high quality of service and professionalism for such an amazing price!!! When I was leaving, I accidentally smudged my nail and they were on top of it fixing it so it was literally perfect. I can't speak highly enough about this place! I I would consider driving down here more frequently just to get my nails done by them. Friendly, wonderful staff. Very relaxing. Massage chairs. First time ever going to this place and honestly the service was good by the male who did both my spa pedicure and powder manicure, but when it came to giving a tip, he told me how to tip. He even wrote on my receipt on how much percent to give. He goes- "You pay 20%." Get the hell out of here. I was willing to be nice and give at least $10, but he thought it was a restaurant. I have been a customer of Sophia Nail & Spa for years! However, I as a paying customer and generous tipper, will never return! The manicurist, who has been doing my nails is extremely professional and accommodating. HOWEVER.....Sophia, the Owner is EXTREMELY NASTY and UNPROFESSIONAL! I find it very disrespectful when I have scheduled an appointment with a specific manicurist, and I have been informed at the time of the appointment, that my name was not in the appointment book. NOTE: My appointments are scheduled every two weeks, consistently. Two weeks later, which turned out to be the last straw, meaning I will never return, occurred while I was in the middle of my powder manicure and the owner (Sophia) directed the manicurist to help an individual that walked in for an eyebrow waxing. I was asked to wait 2 minutes so that the individual could have their eyebrows waxed. This is ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE. I LITERALLY DID MY OWN NAILS!! I was hoping to give this salon another try as it has been good in the past but instead I received service where I got sneezed all over and burned with a hot towel. I constantly had to tell the lady to fix my nails as she was trying to rush. At some point I picked up the utensils and did it myself. Never again, waste of a $35 mani - pedi.. Sad that I will never come here again. I used to go to Sophia's nails all the time. I got regular manicures and pedicures and they were good and the prices were reasonable. I have had regular gel done before and it was fine. I had my nails for my wedding done and they were great. BUT I will now never go there because they have raised prices and the powder gel manicures suck! Most places charge $35 for powder gel, they charged $39! But it doesn't even last. Before the first week two nails chipped and they fixed them for free by a day later they started popping off. 10 days in now and they're all gone! I can't go to get manicures regularly anymore and was counting on a powder gel to last and for the price of a powder gel and pedicure almost $70 total, neither have lasted less than 2 weeks later. I have been going to this salon for the past 6 years and I only have positive feedback. They do get busy, so you'll want to make an appointment. Among my many reasons for continuing to use their services: * The salon is bright and very clean * They only use sanitized, individually pouched tools * Pedicure basins are immediate scrubbed with Clorox after each use * The 3 girls that I usually go to do very thorough work and I never feel rushed * Even when it is busy, the salon tends to be very quiet. I went to Sophia nail salon and first of all it was way to expansive for the bad job they do. Get my nails done took 2 and a half hours and the job was done hopefully. My nails came out too long I had asked her to leave them a bit long because the shape I wanted was gonna get them shorter. She did not do anything close to the shape I wanted but I had a picture right in front of her so she could see what shape I wanted. All 10 of my fingers had different shapes. It's too expensive also for a nail salon that cannot do ombré nails. This was literally the worst experience of my life and I would NOT recommend going here. read more

The staff has been there for years so you get the same kind faces. They are a busy salon so I try to always call ahead to avoid a wait. I came here with my mom, grandmother, and sister. My mom got a gel manicure and my grandmother got a pedicure and they were happy with the results. However, my regular manicure was one of the worst I've ever gotten. The manicurist was not paying attention, and smudged one of my nails but didn't even notice, so it wasn't fixed. Also, the employee forgot to finish painting one of my nails. Overall, they even didn't go a good job shaping them and the finish was not smooth. My daughter and I went to this nail salon last month for the first time. I got a pedicure. My daughter got a manicure and pedicure, (she is 12 years old). This nail salon was WAY over priced. As I went to pay, the nail tech had the nerve to tell me that her tip is 10% of the service we received. I will never go back to this salon or recommend this place to anyone. I was doing my nails and saw the whole story when this lady came in and asked for manicure and pedicure. First of all, when this lady came in, she was mad at the first place. As the manicurist begins doing her nails, she was picking on her the whole time. Even though, the manicurist was still being professional and followed what this lady had been told her. THEN all of a sudden, she complained her nails were not filed right, it wasn't the shape she wanted. RIDICULOUSLY, she checked every single one of her nails and started to file them herself ... She refused to pay, she started taking pictures of the store and talking to herself. According to what she said the reason for her to come to this nail place was because the other nail place that she usually goes to were closed on Sundays. But anyways, what I wanted to say is you CANNOT just post comments with false statement just because you are mad OR not in good mood OR because YOU DONT FEEL LIKE PAYING and still want to have the service. The manicurists in this place are always nice and that's why I come to this place all years. I felt so bad for the manicurist because she did what she supposed to do. I also had experienced with this manicurist. She has done my nails in excellent jobs. I was looking for a local nail salon that's open on Sundays, and Sophia's is one of them. I decided to give it a go. I went to get a gel manicure and pedicure. Half way into my pedicure, I realized I forgot my wallet. I told them, and they said it's ok, and that I can get it later, in the middle of removing my previous gel manicure (my pedicure was drying) she told me to go home and get my wallet. I got it, and came back in 10 mins. After all was done, she did a decent job. I went to pay, and tip. She said I didn't tip enough and to give her more, which she specified how much more. I didn't tip much bc she left everything half done and suddenly told me to leave to get my wallet. She could've at least waited until my pedicure dried. I had been going to this salon for about a year with no complaints, but the last time I went for a mani/pedi, I thought I noticed the technician didn't put a base coat on my toes before applying color. I thought maybe it was just me and I had missed it when I was reading my magazine, but then, when she was done applying two coats of color, she told me, "OK, time for manicure," and started to move my things from the pedicure station to a manicure station. She never applied a top coat to my toes! When I pointed that out, she was very apologetic and started laughing, saying she had forgotten. I told her I noticed she hadn't applied the base coat either, but she insisted that wasn't true. My only advice to their customers is to watch what they're doing. Otherwise they're fine. read more

The WORST service in a nail spa salon. The woman was not friendly from the moment I walked to the spa chair. She rushed through the entire time. Didn't massage the lotion into the hands, feet or legs. After I was placed under the dryer, she never came back to take the toe dividers off my toes, and to take off the plastic bag they place on your heels to soften the back of the foot. When I stood up to leave after drying my nails, I almost slipped and fell on the plastic bag. She was inattentive and over all seemed very miserable the whole time. I find that the quality of service at this place is "hit or miss." When I went a few weeks ago, I had a good visit with an excellent nail technician. However, my last visit to this place was a terrible experience, and I was not happy. The one reason why I liked this salon was because they seem to actually sanitize their tools, because they open up the tools in a sealed bag. I called about 20 minutes in advance and I asked if I could come by in "about" 20 minutes for a manicure and pedicure, and I was told that this would be fine. I arrived in approximately 23 minutes. When I got there, almost every chair was taken. I was told to pick my colors and to sit in the first chair and wait. Other customers were walking in asking how long the wait was for a manicure/pedicure, and everybody was being told that they wait was 20 minutes. I was sitting in the chair for about 15 minutes when I finally inquired with the person who was left in charge, as the owner was not there. I indicated that I had called ahead and I was wondering if I would be taken soon. This individual responded to me with no tact or manners and in an obnoxious tone indicated that although I called ahead, I showed up "late." First of all, I said that I would be there in approximately 20 minutes, and I arrived 23 minutes later. If that's what they call late, maybe they need to have an understanding of what late truly is. It's not as if I arrived 35-40 minutes later. I indicated that I did not arrive late and this person was rude and just kept responding by saying that I was late. When I was finally taken approximately 45 minutes after my arrival, I had the worst nail technician I ever had when getting my nails done. She spent little time on my feet, she barely filed my nails and did not clip my nails to make them look uniform or even. She hardly scrubbed my feet and spent pretty much no time messaging my legs, which is part of what is supposed to be done during a mani/pedi. She almost cut me with the cuticle remover, and I was worried that I was going to bleed. Then, after working on my feet, we moved on to the manicure. Again, she hardly filed or cleaned up my nails, and she put the nail polish on much too thick. She also didn't properly use the cotton when using nail polish remover and there were little pieces of cotton still on my nails when she was applying the polish. The quality of the job done both on my nails and feet looks like a sloppy "home job." Then, at the end when you're siting at the table where you sit for you nails to dry, well, the little back message at the end was basically like not having one at all. She spend about 20 seconds messaging my back and I barely felt as if I was even receiving a message. This was definitely a major fail. This place definitely needs to step up their game and think about what customer service is really about. read more
