The trolley never came at 4pm July 4th week. We waited over an hour and ended up taking an uber home. Three trolleys past right by and refused to stop for us. It was during the heat dome so possibly there was an issue there that the drivers needed to cool off read more

Website and signs state change will be given in trolley tokens. Wait 20 min in sun for trolley sign on it states no change of any kind given. Had planned to use the extra tokens to return to hotel from the beach. Also not stated on website or street signs, only one personal item or person. This info needs to be easily accessible on the site so no one wastes their time waiting for the trolley only to find they can't get tokens or take their stuff (god forbid one have a beach chair AND a tote bag). read more

Terrible experience Saturday 7/26/25 at 5-8 pm the woman that was driving the trolley hit 2 stops signs, also get out of the trolley multiple times to scream at tourists parking in the parking lot, including at 12 year old child waiting at his car. She also screamed at pedestrians in the crosswalk saying she wasn't going to wait for them to cross. Would not recommend riding with her read more

I love these trolleys - Molly, Lolly, Polly, Holly, Rowley, Jolly, Wally, (who did I miss) - you have to use them. They are so much fun ... but only when there is non traffic overload. I usually pick it up in town heading toward the beach, loop around and go South to Perkins and back around to town (going North is not as much fun 'cause of the traffic). Be forewarned - have correct change, you will be given tokens back as change if you don't. You can even rent these suckers for special events - I have seen wedding parties (FUN!) read more

While on vacation, our daughter really wanted to try riding the trolley. Our misunderstanding was that the trolleys that services the Ogunquit area are NOT for tourism. They are very congested and obvious that they are a means of public transportation for the locals. Not a problem, but they get VERY congested. Exceptionally so on days like ours when there where only 2 trolleys in operation that day (per the first driver when he had to turn people away). They definitely work as a public transportation, but be aware if your a tourist looking to leisurely see the town, you may not get a seat. The wait time for the trolleys on that particular day was also 30 minutes. Also be advised the the costs are $2 per adult and $1.50 per child. Exact change only and any change is ONLY given in trolley tokens. The reason I gave such low rating are as follows: The wait was extremely off from the normal 10-15 minutes, there is no website or other notifications of policies or daily schedule changes (such as when multiple transports are down). There are only general signs posted at the stops. I knew we would be needing a return trip and gave the driver $11, as I didn't have the $5.50 exact for each trip. The driver gave me the tokens but gave an attitude and commented "I guess" when I was asking for the tokens for the return trip. The final reason was that the driver on the return trip was a woman who stopped without notice to take a smoke and bathroom break. Then returned with and ice-cream cone. She then proceeded to drive an trolley full of people while eating an ice-cream cone. read more

Tried connecting with them for a quote for my wedding this year and had the worst time getting ahold of someone. After weeks of emailing and leaving messages, a woman named Kathleen finally answered the phone saying "just send an email and I'll respond when i get in today." Sure- I had already sent several, but willing to try again now that I finally got ahold of someone. She responded with very unhelpful information and didn't answer any of my questions. This continued with several more unanswered emails and calls before I finally came to my senses and realized if they can't reply to a simple email, how could I possibly trust them to show up on my wedding day for all my guests?! Driver was rude to people. Exact change requirement is archaic. Times are way off; we waited 45 minutes on a Sunday, you can walk through most of Ogunquit in 45 minutes. Sure, I get it that Ogunquit traffic is bad, it's probably the worst on 1 all the way to Portland, but telling people it's 15 minutes isn't accurate at all in the summer. read more

No.No.No! Worst experience ever trying to contract with Ogunquit Trolley for transportation for my wedding. Kathy, the lady who is charge of contracting, is rude and unprofessional. I've been trying for 3 months to get an accurate contract. She will tell you to email her and then she never responds. When you call to inquire about the email she tells you she responds in the order her emails are received, but then says she doesn't have your email address even though she said she received your email? Extremely disorganized and unpleasant to even speak with. Save yourself the stress leading up to your wedding and choose another transportation company! read more

Cute overload! Ogunquit is tiny. I mean, really small. The "downtown" area consists of just a few blocks, while the entire shopping/ restaurant/ touristy area is only a couple of miles. The trolley is the perfect way to get around Ogunquit and see it all without a car. This quaint, old time trolley will take you all the way to the North of the town, and all the way South to Perkins Cove, stopping at all of the main restaurants and hotels along the way. It also stops at the beach and lingers for long enough to fill up. Once you're on, sit back and enjoy the scenic ride and the wind in your hair. And ride as long as you like! The trolley ride is $1.50 per person ($1.00 for kids), and there are four of them running all day and into the evening during the tourist season, so you'll never have to wait too long. Kids love it. I love it. If you're in Ogunquit for an afternoon or weekend, don't miss it. read more

This is the way to go to get to and from Perkins Cove if you don't want to drive in bumper-to-bumper traffic and then pay $20-$25 to park in a lot in or near the Cove. We picked up the trolley at a stop about a half block away and across the street from the Ocean Acres Motel, where we stayed. The fare is $2.00 per person per ride (well worth it), and the trolleys run about every 15 to 20 minutes, up until 10 p.m., we were told by the manager of our motel. Although the ride itself was pleasant enough (and we had gorgeous weather), the driver we had to Perkins Cove, an elderly gentleman, was a bit annoying. He went on and on with uninteresting blather, and didn't answer basic questions put to him by some of the passengers. We thought he could be drunk, but weren't quite sure. The ride back to our motel later that afternoon was so much better. Our driver was a pleasant and attentive middle-aged woman who answered all questions substantially. This is a very inexpensive and convenient mode of transport while in Ogunquit and would recommend. read more

A Tale of Two Trolleys We rode the Trolley twice while we were in Ogunquit. The experiences of each of those rides could not have been more diametreically opposed to each other than say the North and South Pole. Trolley 1 I guess being rude, unhelpful, and downright hostile is a prerequisite for application as a trolley driver. When the trolley stops, there is no indication as to it's direction and God help you if you ask. We watched as customer after customer was chided and berated by the driver for asking the simple question "where are you going?". Hey, Mr. Trolley driver, I have a question "why are you such an asshole?" Trolley 2 Our driver was amazing. Not only was he polite, and helpful, but he offered countless nuggets of information about the town, where to eat, things to do etc... A true delight. And.. he's been driving the Trolley for 15+ years. He clearly takes his job to heart and has made himself an ambassador for Ogunquit. so... depending on who drives your trolley, this is either a 1star or 5star review. I guess your chances are 50/50. The trolley is awesome in theory, but we had a horrible experience. We were trying to get back to our hotel from downtown/mainstreet, which is only 2 stops, just a couple minutes drive. Our 4 year old had been walking a lot and her legs could use a break, so we decided to take the trolley instead of the 10 minute walk. When we got on, we told the driver what stop we wanted, and he said no problem. Unfortunately, he was too deaf to hear us yelling for him to stop when he missed our stop and blew right past. When I went up front to speak to him, he said, Oh yeah, I forgot. And then refused to stop and let us out. Then he straight up lied and said it would only be 5-7 minutes until he dropped us off on the return trip. 30 minutes later, we finally made it to our hotel, after the entire trolley filled up and the driver then stopped at every stop to tell people it was too full to get on. When we complained upon trying to exit, the driver clearly didn't care and directed us to call "the posted number." No number was listed on the trolley or the sign at the stop, but there were two numbers on their website. Both numbers there was no answer and mailbox full, no way to leave a message, when we called. I have used the trolley before when traveling to Olgunquit. Was very disappointed this trip however. Although clean, two dollars a trip for adults and $1.50 children it is not at all dependable. We had been traveling to Perkins Cove for a sailing trip and warned to leave in plenty of time. We had no trouble getting to Perkins Cove but getting back was a challenge. We were staying in a motel near Wells. On the way back, we had walked Marginal Way expecting to be able to pick up the trolley in the center of Olgunquit. After waiting for 45 minutes and not seeing a trolley that was going northbound, I started walking thinking I would catch it along the way. In 90 minutes I saw one northbound trolley and it never stopped because it was full. Would advise if you are using trolley to make sure you have exact change because otherwise you get change with trolley coins. That is if they will take your cash! read more

The intentions of this review are to offer some tips which may help improve your trolley experience. I love the idea of this fun and convenient transportation option, but our trolley excursion this weekend was somewhat disappointing. I am, however, willing to give the service another chance now that I have become more educated on the trolley do's and don'ts. 1. Be sure to plan accordingly so you won't be waiting long at the trolley stop. 2. Have cash on hand and exact fare as drivers cannot make change. 3. Avoid trolleys on busy weekends if you are the least bit claustrophobic. 4. Ask driver about the trolley schedule, estimated wait times, and delays if any. 5. Be prepared for lots of stops and delays as people get off and on. A trolley stop was located at our motel in Ogunquit and we decided it would be fun to leave the car behind and take the trolley into town. Fortunately we had a few dollar bills on hand to pay the adult fare of $2.00. I was told most drivers cannot make change so you will be offered tokens for future rides instead of cash back. It was Labor Day weekend so we found ourselves packed like sardines on the trolley as it took off from our motel. Our driver was kind and he politely called out stops and alerted passengers to upcoming destinations. The ride up to town just wasn't as fun as I thought it would be. The trolley makes frequent stops and the loading and unloading takes time especially on a busy weekend. People board the trolley with beach chairs, baby strollers, bags, and other items. This adds to the boarding delays and takes up precious space. We spent some time roaming around Ogunquit center and then decided to head back to our motel about five miles away. We found a trolley stop in the center of town with other people waiting on the bench. The people waiting informed us they had already been on the bench 25 minutes. Soon after arriving at the stop an empty trolley zoomed by us. The driver simply shrugged and waved a hand in the air as he passed by leaving us to assume he was off duty or on another assignment. We waited another 15 minutes and then decided to start walking in the direction of our motel. We covered two miles without a single trolley in sight until we finally flagged one down in between stops. Thank goodness the woman was williing to stop for us, but we had to pack onto the already overcrowded trolley with standing room only. I believe the trolley can be a fun experience, but plan accordingly. The trolleys are a unique and convenient way to arrive at the beach and other destinations which may require parking fees. Also, each trolley has a name on the front such as Dolly or Molly the Trolley. This is a cute feature to point out to children. read more

So if you have unused tokens around after taking the trolley, they won't exchange them. They basically steal your money. Plus, the owners and drivers are awful people. read more

The trolley was to take us 5miles down the road to Perkins cove for our first sight photos, The driver was down right RUDE didn't even say hello as the wedding parties got on! Not even a smile! She then told us that we were had gotten on late and that we better hurry up...my "husband" to be then showed her our contract saying we had rented it for 2.5 hours she told him that "she didn't care" what the contract said that she was told different and that he had to take it up with her boss... Hello it's our wedding day and we are showing you the contact! Nope she didn't allow us our contracted time! We reached out to the boss telling her what had happened and we NEVER received an email or phone call back or even a I'm sorry!!! I would never do business with this company again!!! Today is Saturday, September 21, 2019. It is our 39th wedding Anniversary and we wanted to take the Trolley to Marginal way for our first time ever. As we walked across the crosswalk in front of the Mariner Hotel we noticed a quite upset elderly couple that we had just seen board leaving the trolley. We incorrectly assumed they didn't have the cash or were confused as to where the trolley would take them. I and my husband began to board. I have a disability and I takes me some time to climb steps. The driver waited until I was all the way up the steps before screaming at me, "THE TROLLEY IS NOT PICKING UP ANYONE" THE TROLLEY IS NOT PICKING UP RIDERS FOR AT LEAST 2 HOURS!" Okay... why are you screaming at me? All I said to you was "Hello". Why did you stop? Why not put an out of service sign on the trolley??? Failing that, how about some basic human decency and just say, "Sorry folks we are not picking up right now" preferably BEFORE I climb in. Just common basic human kindness and good customer service. I tried to telephone your main office after getting the number from my hotel and all I could get was a recording telling me how many "awards of excellence" you have received in the past. Here's a tip, past awards mean nothing without current, excellent customer service. I had intended on giving you 5 stars at the end of our vacation. You ruined it. read more

The trolley is very convenient but you should plan on waiting a while for it to show up. Each way is $2 a person which gets pricy for our family of 4. Also, why does it stop at the beach and Perkins cove for like 25 minutes? If there's no one there, then drive away! FYI: they don't give change so make sure you have lots of $1 bills. read more

We rented the trolley to shuttle our guests to our beach wedding ceremony. The driver was very friendly and accommodating. Definitely the most reasonably priced trolley company in the area, as well as an authentic way to transport guests. The company was very professional and organized. I contacted the Ogunquit Trolley to get a quote for transportation for my wedding. I waited for 1.5 weeks without response. I called both numbers listed on the website. By doing this I got in touch with the owner, who was very kind and felt bad about this. He contacted the person (Kathy) who runs the Ogunquit Trolleys. She called me - unapologetic. She gave me her email (which I had already contacted) and told me to give her details of what I would want and she would respond with a quote. This was on 4/7, on 4/10 I sent a followup email because I had not heard a response. I tried calling the next week without a call back. Finally I sent an email today (4/21) saying don't bother giving me a quote, York Trolley got back to me immediately. I debated contacting the owner again, after I initially called him he got his employee to call me back immediately. However, I will use the York Trolley. I am afraid if they are taking this long to get back to me they do not want my business and I am afraid they just won't show up the day of the wedding. Very unprofessional. read more

I love Ogunquit trolleys!! The route is great. The drivers though.... They aren't the best. There are too many deaf old men who can't hear you when you shout your stop.
