Cant say I was happy with my experience with trying to schedule a cake. My event was scheduled for evening , she informed me I would have to pick up in the morning. I told her that was not possible. She then just hung up. So as far as I am concerned if I am not going to be your customer , the behavior changes. Considering I have multiple events will likely not be using her in the future. This is the first time that I used Oh Cake! WOW, what a great surprise. I wanted to get chocolete covered strawberries for my wife for Mother's Day. The prices I had seen were as high as $7 per strawberry. When I contacted Laurel she told me the price was $20 per dozen. I order 2 dozen and expected to get just chocolete covered strawberries. Was I surprised. There was a mix of Milk, Dark, and White chocolete as well as designs. The strawberries were large and sweet and the chocolete was great. IT DOESN'T GET ANY BETTER. read more

Laurel did a great job recently for my son's 5th birthday cake. I was impressed with the effort put into the cake, the design and the overall taste of it as well. She makes her cakes at her home and was kind to let me sit in the living room while she finished the work on the cake. So, fantastic effort for my son's 5th birthday. OMG!!! Day before my husband's birthday and my staff comes up with a wild idea...get him a birthday cake in the shape of a rat. I do want to note the rat was a running joke due to a rat dying in a rat trap right in the middle of our backyard company party!! I called Laurel with ridiculously short notice. Getting married though in May and the venue won't let me use her...so, I'm getting wedding cookie favors from her instead. I came across Oh Cake on Google and after reading all of your great reviews, I became interested. I drove there first thing in the morning & was unable to find it. So I parked and called & Laurel informed me there was no store front. No big deal. So then she asks what date I would be interested in having the cake made for, I told her October 15th & she replied 'Sorry, I'm booked and can't help you.' And she hung up on me. So rude. I was totally thrown off. The phone call didn't even last 4 minutes. I wasn't expecting her to squeeze me in or anything but she could've been polite when dealing with me. I was so disappointed with the taste of the cake. I ordered a cake for my baby's first birthday and though it was nicely decorated and timely delivery, it was the worst cake ive ever tasted in my life. I had told her that the cake needed to be the highlight of the party and it needed to be moist. I even felt silly saying that cake must be moist! When we all received the cake there were polite faces trying not to spit out the cake. I had let her suggest what cake flavor and she recommended her neopolitan because it was a crowd pleaser. I hate to say it was NOT A CROWD PLEASER!! THE CAKE WAS DRY, FALLING APART AND TASTED OLD AND LIKE IT HAD BEEN FROST BITTEN OR SOMETHING! I was so upset and beyond mortified that I had given my guests such a terrible tasting comestible if you can call it that. I don't understand all the good reviews honestly but for the outrageous price I paid I could have bought the biggest most delicious cold stone ice cream cake and then some and have saved money in the process. She did throw in a tiny mash cake which my little one refused to eat...one disgusting taste was enough...no Kodak moment of a happy baby covered in cake for me...totally ruined my1 moment. I booked Laurel for my son's 4th birthday party cake. He wants Cars theme and the cake turns out great!! Much more detailed and beautiful than I thought!! And at a great price!! He was speechless at first sight of the cake for whole 2 mins!! totally shocked in joy!! He didn't want to cut the cake at all!! His friends were surrounding the cake during the party and didn't want to leave to eat pizza!! It's not only beautiful but also very tasty!! Very light, moist and yummy, not too sweet at all! She met with us prior to our wedding and after describing our wishes, she made a miniature model of our cake and gave it to us. It was scrumptious! I ordered a over the hill cake for my husband's surprise 40th birthday party. I asked to have a butter cream frosting and not fondant. I was speechless when I saw the cake. It looks awesome and looks delicious. I picked it up with my toddler and we cannot wait to eat it. Laurel is awesome. I will not be surprise if she's booked most of the time and maybe can't accommodate others. Luckily for me she was free that weekend. During our chat about the flavor she said it's chocolate cake then more chocolate something. I asked maybe that's too much chocolate and then she explained it to me how it's going to be. I said OK let's try it. Well that was a good decision, it was delicious and moist. My son and other guests kept coming back for more. Butter cream was a great choice also. Laurel did the cake for our wedding and it was beautiful and delicious. We had the neapolitan cake. We did shop around and hers was definitely the best cake tasting experience we had. She demonstrated in front of us how the wedding cake we wanted would look like using a mini cake and we got to take home the whole cake with us even before we signed the contract! When I called in to order a cake and some chocolate covered strawberries, Laurel did not seem like she wanted more business. I asked if I can get a quote on a cake and her response was "well I can try" How can you "try?" I then asked about the chocolate covered strawberries and I accidentally asked if she can change frosting color on strawberries instead of saying chocolate on strawberries. I corrected myself immediately after but for some reason she felt like she had to correct me after the fact I already corrected myself and she did it with an attitude. I asked if I can send her pictures of the cake I would like and she said yes and gave me her email and told me to email in and she'll get back to me. 2 days later and no response so I called twice. Left messages and 5 days later still no response to email or call. Only reason why I considered this place in the first place was because of all the great reviews on service and cakes. Laurel makes the most amazing cakes ever! She has been making my daugher's b'day cakes for the last 4 years. She makes the most creative cakes I have ever seen. The themes we have tried so far are Dora, Princess, Fairy and Bambi. She makes beautiful chocolate novelties that are used on the cake that sets her cakes apart (like a castle, choclate trees, little ducks in a pond, flowers, musical notes to name a few).
