Laurel is great!!! The cake tasting was great. It was like she knew what we liked without even asking. She had a good variety of tastings which really helped us pick flavors. She made our cupcake wedding cake...delicious!! It looked so lovely and tasted sooo good. I have to be honest though, I did not have a chance to enjoy my wedding cake on the day of the wedding BUT we didn't loose any time the day after...and it still tasted fresh and delicious! Everyone still compliments us on the cake at our wedding. Very VERY reasonably priced. I had gotten a few quotes from other bakeries and none where as reasonable as Laurel's. I had received a cake from Laurel for my 60th birthday (which I believe was the "Death by Chocolate"). Not only was it beautifully decorated with unique chocolate pieces that reflected my hobbies, the cake was OUT OF THIS WORLD! My experience with lavishly decorated cakes is that often the cake itself isn't very good ... definitely not so here. I then ordered a cake for my partner, Michael's, 50th birthday. He had wanted a dulce de leche or caramel cake. Laurel said that she hadn't yet perfected a recipe for this, and did I have a stand-by flavor in mind. When I mentioned lemon, she immediately said that she had a "killer lemon cake." She asked about his favorite color, hobbies and interests, and I asked that she take over from there. When I picked up the cake, I was delighted with the whimsical decorations that were more than I ever could have expected. She didn't have a chance to work on her dulce de leche cake, and I told her that the lemon cake was going to be just fine. Well, it was more than fine, it was OUTSTANDING - very moist and VERY lemon-y. We look forward to many more cakes from Laurel ... and, someday, that dulce de leche one! Laurel and company made my daughters wedding cake and for a very very reasonable price. Her cake was 4 tiers..or was it 6, anyway, The filling was strawberries, delish! We also ordered a grooms cake to look like the Raiders football field in chocolate and to top it off Laurel made some bear cookies for the kids table. We took one tier home that evening. The guests were ooing and ahhing all night . the cake was gone in 60 seconds! I ve only been to one other wedding where that has happened..
