Laurel is great!!! The cake tasting was great. It was like she knew what we liked without even asking. She had a good variety of tastings which really helped us pick flavors. She made our cupcake wedding cake...delicious!! It looked so lovely and tasted sooo good. I have to be honest though, I did not have a chance to enjoy my wedding cake on the day of the wedding BUT we didn't loose any time the day after...and it still tasted fresh and delicious! Let me begin by saying Laurel is a true professional. It was so easy to communicate with her. I reached out to Laurel to create a cake for my son's birthday. We recently relocated and he puts on a brave face and smiles through it all, but the transition has been tough on him. I wanted to make this bday extra special. He is obsessed with the Tesla X vehicle, so I asked Laurel if she could make a cake in the shape of this vehicle AND if she could make one with the doors up. I had received a cake from Laurel for my 60th birthday (which I believe was the "Death by Chocolate"). Not only was it beautifully decorated with unique chocolate pieces that reflected my hobbies, the cake was OUT OF THIS WORLD! My experience with lavishly decorated cakes is that often the cake itself isn't very good ... definitely not so here. I then ordered a cake for my partner, Michael's, 50th birthday. He had wanted a dulce de leche or caramel cake. Laurel said that she hadn't yet perfected a recipe for this, and did I have a stand-by flavor in mind. When I mentioned lemon, she immediately said that she had a "killer lemon cake." She asked about his favorite color, hobbies and interests, and I asked that she take over from there. When I picked up the cake, I was delighted with the whimsical decorations that were more than I ever could have expected. She didn't have a chance to work on her dulce de leche cake, and I told her that the lemon cake was going to be just fine. We had a huge wedding and wanted to save some money so we asked her if she could do a 3 layer cake with the bottom tier being a fake one. She did just that and made it look great, no one even noticed, to the point where I forgot it was fake and during the cake cutting time was attempting to saw through cardboard.
