    5. Mozza Dog No dog! Missing 1/4 of the mozza!
    Nicholas W.

This place is a racquet! No hot dog in my dogs! If your claiming to serve corn dogs there better be a dog in the middle! Rice cake dog! No dog! Just mushy mess in the middle with no flavor. Mozzarella dog, any sane human would expect a hot dog with mozzarella cheese inside. Nope! No dog! Cheddar dog, same thing No Dog! Do not come here if your expectation is a deep fried hot dog! Go to hot dog on a stick which has never disappointed!

Super consistent with great Korean snack items! Loved the combination of tteobokki and hot dog. It wasn't too spicy so I was able to munch on the dish without too much trouble. The location is tucked into a corner and is never too packed when I go in the afternoon which makes it easy to sit and wait for the food.

Another Ballston Quarter restaurant that I was rather disappointed by. I ordered the Chicken bulgogi bowl, and the portion size and the price were very good. However, the chicken tasted like chicken that had been slightly cooked in soy sauce, and it was nothing like bulgogi or even Korean tasting. I saw that they had a lot of other Korean street food that looked yummy though, so I'll give those a try next time!

I was in Ballston to see a movie at the AMC for the first time and was surprised to find the Ballston Quarter Market on the ground floor - pretty cool food court with lots of options for before or after watching a movie upstairs. I'd seen Oh K-Dog before and was excited to try it - I got the mozzarella potato dog and while I am a fan of Korean corn dogs, I thought the batter on this one was too thick for my taste. It made for a pretty heavy meal, which is to be expected since it is fried dough, cheese, and potatoes after all so maybe I'm just not in my Korean corn dog era anymore.

I'm so glad I finally tried out Korean hot dogs after hearing folks rave about it so much recently! We split the cheddar hot dog and the bacon & cheese toast. The breading on the hot dog was fantastic - it shattered as you bit into it and was quite crispy, without being oily or heavy. The cheddar provided some nice cheese pull. This was a satisfying snack and definitely hit the spot for that fry/salty combo. One tip is that if you choose to add the spicy sauce on top, you might want to be heavy handed with the sauces. We added only a little bit and did not find it at all spicy. The bacon & cheese toast was OK. I was a little disappointed how quickly the toast got soggy even though we were dining in and dug into it pretty soon after sampling the hot dog. The eggs were plentiful but the bacon was not at all crispy so there wasn't much textural contrast. There were other menu options that looked fun to try - they had various ramens like shin ramen and buldak ramen that you can get as combos with your corn dog and kimbap.

My friend ordered their half cheese and half sausage corn dog but we received the mozzarella dog with no sausage, we were looking forward to having sausage but since all the prices are the same, I guess its fine lol We got there around 8ish? Im not sure exactly but it looked like they were getting ready to close shop. We were hoping to order some ramen noodles but they had already closed that section, so only corn dog for us! The hot mustard was a great addition/dip to the cheesy dog. The potatoes were a little tough to bite through, but the mozzarella was soo good. It was super cheesy (duh) and fresh hot, with a great cheese pull. I would definitely come back to try their ramen with the corn dog!

I have been wanting to check out this place for sometime now but perhaps I went on an off day or so. This is inside Ballston Quarter Market featuring many food options if you're looking to try out different cuisines or something new. For me, I was just craving Korean Street Food so here I am. It took like a few minutes for the staff to come up to help me order because the touchscreen wasn't working. It gave me some time to check out their menu. They have combos where you could get toast or ramen(ramyun) along side a korean corn dog and a drink of your choice. So I opted for Shin Ramyun, a Mozzarella Corndog with an extra topping of potatoes and a Pina Colada drink. Interesting combo I have here. The Ramen is cooked on one of these induction stove top machines that the staff will do for you, it's cool and makes me wish I had one of these at my house. My Mozzarella corndog came out out of the fryer, a nice crispy coating with a few fries attached to it. Amazing. I feel like if you ever tried Shin Ramyun, it's pretty much spicy enough to have some kick but its not overwhelming. The noodles are bigger than most noodle packets so I do feel like you get alot here. Try it out if you are looking to get into more ramen options. The corndog had a crunchy exterior to it with every bite. I was surprised by the mozzarella cheese inside, and was able to pull the cheese at least a few meters away. I guess that's my favorite part about Korean Corn Dogs, seeing how much cheese you can pull. The Pina Colada Slush... it's a slushie. I feel like I could have gotten a soda or a Korean Soft Drink but I probably just wanted something cold that night. I will be back to try the toast out for sure, I think that looks really good to eat!

Yeah, the typical fair corn dog is tasty, but why not add cheese? Potato? A coating of sugar? Those delicious combinations can all be found at Oh K-Dog. I ordered the Potato Mozza Dog and got the sugar on it, then added two of the different sauce options on top. Trust everyone here - it's a wonderfully crunchy and unique thing to eat. But if you really want that familiar hot dog on a stick they got it there, too. The prices for the hot dogs aren't steep compared to everything else around the food court.

Half and half corn dog, tteokbokki
    Dorothy Y.

Call me crazy, but I was taking an afternoon nap and dreamed of eating tteokbokki with my colleagues without knowing this eatery is near my hotel. When I was walking around Ballston Quarter's food hall and saw this, I knew it was a sign to eat this. I've actually never had tteokbokki before in my life. I insisted on trying the tteokbokki here even though the place is supposed to sell corn dogs. I got the half and half corn dog because I wanted to have some mozzarella to try the cheese pull but still regular dog. I opted out of sugar dusting on this. I don't know what's traditional, but I wasn't looking for something sweet. I forgot what I added in terms of condiments but it included ketchup, garlic powder, some aioli thing, and maybe another condiment. The batter was thicker than I expected. I can see why people need to drown this in sauce, because it can get quite dry and tasteless. It wasn't too rough in the mouth at least. The mozzarella inside did give a slight cheese pull, but it's hard to achieve if you're biting the whole circumference of the dog at once. It's hot. The bottom half was the beef hot dog part. It's actually a very nice hot dog with beef taste and not too salty. If I knew beforehand, I would've chosen the classic dog with just the beef hot dog, no mozzarella. Also if I knew beforehand I prefer the all beef hot dog, maybe I should've gotten the hotdokki, which is the beef hot dog cut into chunks and put into a bowl of tteokbokki. It's $0.50 cheaper than ordering them separately. Not sure if the portion of each is different though. Similar to the corn dog, the tteokbokki tasted similar as how I imagined it to taste. The sauce was sweeter and more tomatoy than I expected. I was thinking something savory and spicy. There is heat here but it comes and goes. I don't recall needing to drink water in between bites, but this level of spicy isn't something I want to shove into my mouth. I'd call it medium spicy. The tteokbokki had a nice chewy texture. I appreciate how the texture didn't change that much from the beginning to end of my meal. I don't know how long they've had this cooking for, but I'd assume the rice and starch would get stiff and tough. It didn't happen here. I was a bit tired of eating this by the end. I would've been happier eating a third to a half of this portion. Is this portion meant to be a main or a side? The fish cake was too floury for my liking. The egg was overcooked. The yolk turned green already.

My friend ate here and loves the variety that the place had to offer. You can order from the kiosk and comes with pictures and breakdowns of what you want. Again cute area of va so solid views and vibes. Service was cool too.

I wanted to love this! I'm glad there is a Korean corn dog spot in Ballston Quarter. But it was more of a 3/3.5 for me. The toast with egg and avocado was pretty good and filling. I had a regular corn dog and it was fine, but not as good as spots I've been to in Annandale. The slush drink was disappointing; too artificial and claw I got sweet for my taste. The spicy rice cakes were okay, but again, I'd probably just order from a full Korean restaurant if I was craving this.

    carbokki
    Jenny P.

My review is solely based off the carbokki (carbonara Tteokbokki). I was expecting it to be so good but it was so bland and the sauce was curdled. It really just tasted like unseasoned and unsweetened cream like half n half. The rice cakes themselves were really soft but other than that, it was a waste of money in my opinion

    Sophia J.

I had a bad experience with tteokbboki at this other place and I vowed to never have it again until my friend and I tried this place out! The tteokbboki here is the right texture with the right amount of spice and thickness of sauce to it! The waiting time may vary but honestly it's so worth it. It's a little stand inside the ballston mall but it gives off that Korean convenience store feel which is cute.

Decent korean corndog, but they do take forever to make them.. The cheese part of our half cheese half hotdog had a great cheese pull tho!

We said heck yeahhhh, so the decision was made AMBIANCE: Big space, pretty empty as we were one of the last people to eat before they closed! They were very accommodating-- letting us know their kitchen closed at 10:30 PM and the restaurant closed at 11 PM. When we arrived, it was 945, so we weren't looking to play around. We knew what we were gonna get. Onward we went SERVICE: My girl Arieles (PRETTY sure that's what her name was) was our server! She was so sweet and got us our stuff promptly. We knew we were coming in late so we weren't gonna waste time, but she was joyful to serve us regardless and I appreciate that. So many times people are FED UP, and it shows, to be at the end of their shift (and I get it), so it was nice to have someone of good demeanor to host us! FOOD: We ordered brisket, spicy pork belly, spicy chicken, and spicy bulgogi. First time trying the spicy Bulgogi for fear that it was gonna be TOO spicy and it was not at all! To reference -- I thought the kimchi was a bit spicier than the bulgogi! So try it, flavor is amazing! Can't wait to come again. I hadn't gone to KBBQ in a long while!

You see, sometimes the quality does matter and quantity is something that is overrated. Meokja Meokja demonstrates that at times quality trumps quantity in Kbbq. The cuts of the meat were all very fresh. I especially enjoyed the beef brisket. It was very tender. A lot of the times at AYCE Kbbq, the beef brisket can be quite dry. Not the case here. The waitress cooked all of our food, which is something I haven't truly appreciated in a while. It does make the food a bit more enjoyable when I don't have to do all the work. This restaurant is not super big. It was already borderline packed despite that we went there right when it opened. My friend told me there is one time they waited almost an hour at 9PM. So I would definitely get here early to avoid a long wait. While I had always been a loyal fan of AYCE Kbbq, I have found myself over the recent years slowly being tipped over towards the a la carte territory. Meokja Meokja has been the tipping point that finally swayed me over. The price here is about the same as AYCE, but with better quality, and I don't feel like trash after finishing the meal. Overall, AYCE Kbbq can be a messy affair, but I felt very clean and satisfied after eating here. A very solid Kbbq meal that I haven't had in a while.
