The cafe itself has a lovely and relaxed feel with cute decor and merch. The friendly staff greeted me as soon as I walked in and gave me great recommendations. I ended up walking out with a box of pastries and the best fall drink I've had anywhere. I think it was called a Dirty Pumpkin? If you like pumpkin drinks, I highly recommend. The pastries are also to die for. Whether you're passing through or live in the area, put this cafe on your list of places to stop.

As a flight attendant and an unapologetic foodie, I've eaten my way through cities all over the world. You learn pretty quickly when a restaurant is simply serving food versus when it's serving something made with genuine care. This place falls firmly into the second category. The customer service? Just the sweet Rainier cherry on top of an already incredible experience (and yes... go look at their bakery case while you're there). Jocelyn was phenomenal. I asked how this little slice of heaven came to be, and she happily shared the story behind it. One owner spent years as an executive chef at a casino, while the other built a career as a professional baker in Aberdeen. Boy, does that expertise show. I ordered the fried chicken and waffles. A little context: I mostly eat pescatarian these days, so when I do splurge on chicken, my expectations are sky high. I've built it up in my head as one of the foods I miss most (right alongside a good ribeye), and it's almost always disappointing. Not this time. This chicken is absolutely ridiculous. They debone a chicken thigh and fry it into the crispiest, juiciest piece of fried chicken I've had in a long time. It's made with a gluten-free batter, which means more people get to enjoy it. And before anyone assumes "gluten-free" means sacrificing flavor... think again. Plenty of great chefs will tell you the best fried coatings come from starches like potato or cornstarch anyway. What really made this meal special, though, was that my partner is vegan. If you've ever dined out with someone who's vegan while you aren't, you know how rare it is for both people to walk away feeling like they had an equally great meal. It almost never happens. Here, it did. She ordered the vegan Indian tacos with corn tortillas, and they looked incredible. She was excited to try the fry bread, and instead of simply serving it, the staff thoughtfully explained it wasn't vegan and helped her choose an alternative. That's the kind of attention to detail you don't forget. Our service was perfectly paced. If you're looking for food in five minutes, there are plenty of places where "cooking" means microwaving something that arrived frozen. This isn't one of those places. Everything tastes intentional, and that takes time. Our food still arrived in under 20 minutes, maybe even less. Slow down, talk to the people you're with, and enjoy the experience. Great food isn't supposed to feel rushed. We stumbled across this gem on our drive home from Ocean Shores, and I'm so glad we did. I only wish it were closer to home because we'd become regulars in a heartbeat. I can't recommend this place enough.

We did 3 each starting with homemade pimento cheese with celery sticks, sweet peppers sliced, and crustini. I'm not a big fan of the jarred commercial pimento cheese. This was extremely good. Tasting the peppers inside the cheese ball that you choose how and where to spread it. B+ maybe even A- for the flavor of the cheese and presentation. 2nd Course of shrimp etouffee. It was okay but too thin of a sauce due to a not dark enough roux. Flavors are spot on, shrimp are tender and delicious. A- for the effort to take on roux dishes. 3rd Course was a delicate hazelnut chocolate mousse in a champagne fluted crystal glass. Topped with a light whipped cream to find the dessert level. It had multiple layers of flavor in different areas of the mouth and nasopharynx. A+ for presentation and depth of flavor in a chocolate pudding! Cup of coffee to end the meal, so really 4 courses. The bookstore surrounds the entire restaurant. Very unique experience. Get reservations or try your luck with the Chef near 6:15 pm for a late exception allowed to slip in. april 11th, 2026…read more honestly, i was hesitant to come here at first due to the mixed recent reviews, but during a week-long stay in ocean shores, ocean beach roasters became our go-to place for coffee and breakfast. i don't have photos of everything we ordered (sorry! i wasn't initially planning on writing a review). over the course of a few visits, we ordered the sockeye benedict, country hash, G.O.A.T., brunch burger, turkey croissant, and eggs benedict. we also got the seasonal fruit, cottage potatoes, tim's salted potato chips, sausage patties, side toast, and cookie. as a warning to others, the main thing we DID NOT LIKE was the seasonal fruit extra/add-on because it was $4 for literally 5 pieces of fruit. we were disappointed about the quantity and think this should just be taken off the menu as i don't think anyone would want to pay this price for that little amount of fruit. however, the rest of our food and experiences was enjoyable, so we're able to look past this. i can see why some people would think the service can take some time, but there are usually only 1-2 people working the floor. so yeah, it's going to take some time, especially when it's busy. pls have some patience and communicate w the staff if you need anything. the employees were always nice, welcoming, and hospitable every time we came, especially greta (hopefully that is her name!!!). we were helped by her every time we came in. my friend rly admired her work ethic (called her a hustler) as she was always doing something, whether it was cleaning, taking an order, serving food, making coffee, etc. all the staff was great. we mostly interacted with the women who work here, but were assisted by greta the most so we always looked forward to seeing her :) i made a joke to my friend that when i ordered the G.O.A.T., i'm surprised greta didn't come with my order. as for the food, we rly liked a lot of it. both of the eggs benedicts were better than some of the ones i have had in seattle, so i was pleasantly surprised. the english muffins were toasted deliciously, the hollandaise sauce was a good consistency and flavor, and the eggs were poached well and runny. the croissant for my turkey croissant was flaky and airy mmm my friend wants to get this the next time he's here! i appreciate the variety of the menu for both food and coffee. it was hard for me to decide what to eat every time because i wanted to try a lot of the menu!!! i also appreciate how many sauces they have as condiments. they have a whole wall shelf of different sauces (i was excited to see the yellowbird sriracha hot sauce). as for the coffee, i think it's ok lol. it's fine to get just to get but after i tried the specialty drinks they had at the time (the lucky charm latte and nutty irishman cold brew) i didn't want anything else. they had a lot of syrups though!! which i like as a sweet coffee girlie. overall, my friend and i enjoyed every visit we made to this establishment and would 100% recommend it to everyone, both visiting and local. my friend's review: Service is amazing.
