I love this place. It's what I recall as being a typical ice cream parlor and the staff always serve up their frozen offerings with a huge smile. Today's young and bouncy server even offered up a small cup of chopped peanuts when I mentioned that nuts are mandatory, not optional. I've saved the best for last. Umpqua ice cream is served along with Cascadia ice cream. I'm an Umqua frozen yogurt fan and their ice cream is an extra special treat. Great hang, great ice cream. read more

Drove by this place and noticed the line so had to swing back and stop. This is a cool little ice cream shop right by the go carts. The staff were super friendly and joked around with us while we tried to pick from the dozens of flavors. Their scoops are generous with waffle cones being made fresh. We got a double cone with huckleberry cheesecake and lemon bar. Match made in heaven! When we asked if they did pup cups our server asked if we wanted whipped cream or vanilla ice cream?!? I love this little ice cream shop and we visit it every single time we visit the beach, rain or shine. It honestly always has a line and you can expect to wait a few minutes. Usually, even when it's busy you'll find a seat either inside or out but it's likely your table will be sticky and messy. It's not a perfect experience but, the workers are always friendly and the ice cream is great. We love ordering the banana split so that we get a little of a few types of ice creams to try. So my boss yelled at me while I was at work and what's the best thing after that? Ice cream! I stopped in and was pleasantly surprised to find Umpqua Ice Cream! And in my flurry of dried up tears, I picked the most obnoxiously bright ice cream. The cotton candy. I was pleasantly more surprised to find the taste subtle and not overly fake. Decent ice cream, all made by Umpqua, based out of Roseburg, Oregon. Price is a bit steep for a single cone. They have spumoni, and I've gotten that flavor I think every time I've been here. They advertise pretzels and donuts, but didn't see either the couple of times I've been here. Some restaurants in this town don't offer any desserts and when I've asked about it, they've referred me to this place. Dirt/gravel parking area with some pot holes. Watch your step. read more

This place was packed but worth the wait! It was a busy Sunday but the line moved really quick for how many large groups were being served! My partner and I were so overwhelmed by the number of flavors we both got a banana split so we could try our favorites! We tried the following flavors: - Kona Coffee - Salted Caramel - Mint Chocolate Chip - Huckleberry Heaven - Bordeaux Cherry - Death by Chocolate Every single flavor was amazing and high quality tasting! How could this place be any less than 10 stars? The wait is llllooonnnggggg but isn't that a sign??? I went both Fri and Sat night around 9:30 during Hog Wild 2019 and it was slammed!!!! I easily waited 20+ minutes to get my sweet treats, so if you do come PLEASE be patient! They offer tons of flavors... You need to read all the boards with flavors bc some of the flavors are not in the case. Also, you can just ask for a specific flavor and they will let you know of they have it or not. The girls who work here are adorable, really sweet and quirky, and they seem to enjoy their jobs and making the customers happy. The ice cream is delicious, and the portions are HUGE!!!!!!! They offer a variety of shakes, malts, sundaes, scoops, cones, and a few non dairy sorbet options. Bc I don't do dairy I got the Raspberry Sorbet in a brownie sundae, which includes a brownie, 3 types of ice cream and any toppings you want. I just got the one flavor, hot fudge and sprinkles. I was HOOKED UP! Thus why I came back Saturday night and got it all over again:) I also got 2 scoops of cookie dough for the FIL, my nephew had 1 scoop cookie dough 1 and scoop choc brownie. I'm starting to think that people review things at ocean shores on a much lesser scale than they would a normal town and have Lower expectations from places. Because I rely on real reviews I'm going to continue to rate them the same as I would any establishment in any town. So this place gets great reviews. Read below ! I was so excited to try it. Now I don't know if it's all the salt in the sea air or what but the service here, attitudes mainly could not have been worse. Specifically from the young lady wearing the dog collar maybe in an attempt to hide the hickeys on her neck. I swear she must've been on drugs for how disconnected she was. We were looking at the ice cream flavors and she said let me know when you guys are ready. And then she walked away ... she came back 30 seconds later and leaned against the back counter and then said I'm ready when you are. Oh I'm sorry our mistake for being confused because you said you would help us and then left. One of the things we tried to order was lemon sorbet. Out. Ok so then mango? "Ugh I have to go to the back and get that then." We get our other scoops (2 items). She comes back with a pint of sorbet and she drops it on the ground while she's trying to scoop it out. The whole pint. And she looks at her coworker and then me and says I have to go get another one. I highly doubt she got another one. We get our other two items and the older lady making cones, the only one that working who isn't a young adult is telling her to put it in the microwave to make it easier to scoop out. So we get our 2 items and my son is waiting 3 minutes for his sorbet we ring up $14 not bad, for the bill. We sit down, eat ice cream and wait for the 3rd one to be mic'd. Girl in collar comes out saying sorbet mango sorbet who got this sorbet ???????!! My son walks up to the counter and she's like who's mango sorbet and I point to him and say his ! Like we've been in here for 10 minutes and one person ordered sorbet and you can't remember or see anything who it was ? We're sitting at the table right by the register. Umpqua ice cream is good but we won't be going in there again. Bad attitude and bad service. The scoops were huge though and there are many flavors. read more

This was again the finale of our most recent birthday tour of Ocean Shores. The two young people working the counter provided our family top notch customer service! We were greeted with a smile when we came in, we weren't rushed and the young woman was available as soon as we knew what we wanted and her teammate came over to help get our four cones. The birthday boy selected the bubble gum flavor with Chiclets in the ice cream and he asked me if he could spit out the gum onto a napkin to save for the end; the young man walked over and gave us a cup to use instead. I keep mentioning they were "young" because I'm so used to having to make excuses for terrible service with a certain age group because, you know, they probably are still learning how to provide customer service? Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised. They were attentive, worked as a team and were kind to us. I can't wait to come back in 6 months. I got the Almond Fudge Espresso Explosion again, my daughter got Strawberry and my partner got Cookie Dough. They were all, again, delicious. read more

Lots of flavors and huge servings. We got junior waffle cones with 2 scoops. My wife asked for 2 flavors and I watched as they packed 2 scoops of one and then 2 scoops of another. If I had known how much they would give, I would have asked for one scoop. No indoor service as of last week in June 2021 but they should be able to open up as the state relaxes restrictions. Had a pleasant visit here. The staff wears masks properly. I waited outside the door as it was busy with a gaggle of kids and moms inside. We were staying at a local hotel and found this place. The black licorice ice cream intrigued me. They were willing to divide up a one scope order into two different flavors. I got black licorice and chocolate peanut butter cup. My wife got a scoop of pistachio almond and rocky road. It was quality ice cream. Glacier brand. The clerk evidently charged me for two scoops but that was okay as I'm sure their business is down due to covid 19. The scoops are very generous. My wife says she would've gotten one scoop if she had known. We took a 3 minute drive west to the ocean and parked on the sand facing the ocean then took a walk by the surf. Another great stop in Ocean Shores! We decided to swing by on the way back to the house & grab some ice cream. The little guy got a scoop of orange sherbet in a cup, the wife got a scoop of cookies & cream in a waffle cone while I got a scoop of wild Mt. blackberry. All 3 of us loved the ice cream to the point where there was basically no conversation until it was gone. The atmosphere was fantastic! It was later in the day on a Sunday afternoon and the staff was still all smiles. It's a very happy, inviting environment with music, candy & ice cream. There's music playing, a coffee shop & a selection of sodas from when I was a kid. The options were endless, from a huge selection of flavors to different concoctions of drinks. They have a ton of different ice cream flavor and everything looked fresh. The flavors we had were all really tasty. I was surprised to see a half dozen or more different flavors for soft serve. My goodness! I have lived in Shores my entire life and to this day my mother, and siblings go in there here and there but always get the same thing. EVERY SINGLE TIME. If your looking for a nice super tasty treat this is the place! For someone who doesn't like black licorice (my mom, sister AND me) we tend to be attracted to the amazing flavor of the peppermint parlors black licorice ice cream! It has a hint of the flavor at first but I swear to all you not so much fans of BL, IT IS SERIOUSLY THE BEST TUB THEY HAVE!!! please give it a try, I promise you, you will be thanking me BUT you have to get this super amazing and delicious flavor combo.....(2 scoops) 1 scoop of Black Licorice and 1 of Cotton Candy! I'll start by saying I gave it 1 star because the ice cream was good, however, that's about the only good thing here. Customer service was beyond horrible for our 1 and only visit to this place. We were in Ocean shores this weekend and decided to grab some ice cream Saturday afternoon. The young girl took our order and as she went to ring us up I handed her my Bank of America Visa card. She swipes it, and all of a sudden their computer freezes. Instead of apologizing for their 1980's era credit card computer, she proceeds to yell out to the other employee who's helping another group of people across the store "THIS CUSTOMERS CARD FROZE OUR MACHINE! O-M-G THEIR CARD BROKE THE MACHINE!!" I stare at her and say "excuse me, are you seriously yelling to your coworker that my card broke your machine!??" I point out to her that I've used the card all weekend, including 5 minutes prior to coming here and its worked fine. She gives me this frustrated look and tries the other 1980's era credit card computer. The other machine freezes and she throws her hands up and once again she yells across the store "O-M-G HIS CARD BROKE OUR OTHER COMPUTER!!!!!" I ask for the card back, pay with cash and leave. Won't ever be visiting this place again, what a shame that horrible customer service can ruin a great little place. PS - I used the card 4 minutes later and it worked fine.......makes me think the 1980's credit card machine needs to be replaced. read more
