I am thrilled to say that I've found that quality of care for my "furry family" at Brenford Animal Hospital, P.A. at their 4118 North DuPont Hwy in Dover location. I am a recent permanent resident of Dover and had adopted my furry felines just before the pandemic shut everything down. As both had all their vaccines etc., were in good overall health, and remained completely "indoor" pets, I had no need to seek any medical attention for either of them until now. I never had felines before and although I did have a wonderful four-legged furry friend for many years before them, she was of the canine breed. Needless to say, felines are totally different. When my "Oreo" exhibited the need for medical attention I looked for reviews for Veterinarians in the area. I write this review because generally people write complaints about experiences, but sadly when they are happy neglect to write compliments and give thanks to those companies and peoples that deserve gratitude to be spelled out. I want people to know about Brenford Animal Hospital, P.A. at 4118 Noth DuPont Hwy in Dover, DE. From my initial call just before the practice closed for the day, through the past few days of communication, everyone I've interacted with at this practice has been wonderful! I don't say that lightly either. By the time I assessed that Oreo needed medical attention and located a veterinarian practice it was near the closing of their work day. Megan was my first point of contact she listened to the concerns I had for Oreo, spoke with the doctor and discusses some options. I ultimately, called back just a few minutes before they closed, spoke with Megan again and booked Oreo for a morning appointment. Megan didn't rush me off the phone, she afforded me time beyond closing to begin the paperwork needed for the morning appointment - she could have had me go "online" to do it myself but graciously extended to me the courtesy of doing it for me and didn't make me feel for a moment that I was imposing on her. My husband and I took Oreo in for the morning appointment, and we both were impressed at the cleanliness of the office and of the examination room. Jacquelynn assisted Dr. Kern's and was the first to interact with Oreo. She was wonderful with him. He has never let a human handle him for the length of time that she needed to and it was as if he'd always known her. I was so impressed! Dr. Kern also had that same effect on Oreo. Oreo had a thorough exam and we were given guidance of what we needed to do to help him get well. I spoke with Dr. Kern's the following day via phone for follow-up and also went into the office to get some recommendations on "treats" for Oreo and Steven at the reception desk listened to my concerns and helped me. I truly felt every person I've identified in this review cared for Oreo's wellness and was compassionate to my concerns for caring for him. They are truly a "team" and clearly share the same attributes that create a practice environment that is exceptional! I thank them and am so thrilled that they are in my community! I know that my furry family will always have the best of care for their medical needs at this practice and which them all professional and personal success!

During the appointment, the veterinarian, a short older caucasian woman, repeatedly yelled at the veterinary technicians in front of us. The entire room became visibly tense, and MY GIRLS - MY FIVE YEAR OLD SPAYED CATS WHO ARE MY ONLY CHILDREN - who had already been stressed by being in an unfamiliar environment... became even more agitated. No animal should be examined in an environment where staff are being screamed at. The veterinarian whom I believe her name was Dr. Gallagher, then raised her voice toward me and instructed me to stay away from my own cat because she claimed she knew my cat would scratch me. This was particularly inappropriate considering she had never met me or my cat before that day. My cat's behavior was far more likely a response to the chaotic, high-stress atmosphere that had been created in the exam room. I remained respectful and civil throughout the visit because I did not want to escalate the situation or create additional stress for my pets. However, I left feeling shocked by how both the staff and I were treated. The veterinary technicians deserved far better than to be spoken to that way, and so did the clients. This experience fell well below the level of professionalism I expect from a veterinary practice. Unfortunately, instead of feeling confident in my pets' care, I left feeling uncomfortable, embarrassed, and disappointed. I sincerely hope the practice addresses this behavior because neither employees nor clients should have to experience it.

Biggie knows the most important commands and obeys them while offleash. These commands are: sit, down, heel, come, place, and break. If I were you, I would definitely book with Quis --especially if you have a large dog that could be quite intimidating or problematic without proper training. Additionally, I board Biggie with Quis regularly when I go out of town, so I get the best of both worlds: boarding and training reinforcement. I am truly grateful for the tremendous training and care that Quis provides for my Biggie. Because of these issues, our girl pup had begun to develop some mats in her coat. Both dogs were overdue for grooming. Needless to say, regular grooming (even at our most trusted groomer) was out of the question because of our injured dog's balance issues that were also complicated by her hip dysplasia. As she healed, we knew it would be extremely stressful to ever leave her at a busy, noisy grooming salon. What we needed to find was a groomer who could come to the house, provide one-on-one customized grooming in a safe, self-contained environment. We needed someone who could keep an eye out for any outward signs for us to follow up as needed with our vet. Most of all, we needed to find someone who was knowledgeable, caring, gentle and committed to the well being of our pups while under their care. We found all that and more with Amanda of Keep Pup Mobile Grooming Spa who I found thanks to the Yelp community. I cannot recommend her more highly. Our dogs immediately took to her as another member of the pack. Amanda was super responsive in providing appointments that fit our very challenging schedules, and worked with us to ensure any special health concerns were addressed. Her mobile grooming spa is immaculately kept, and Amanda has high standards to ensure a safe, low-stress experience for pets and owners. We plan on booking her as far in advance as possible to ensure our fur babies get the very best, right here in our neighborhood. Gotta love that! It is best to contact her via text, and give her needed information; breed, age/sex of pet, last grooming date, etc. She will let you know if she services your area and will provide you with an estimate and window of her arrival. Amanda is prompt, in fact she arrived early for the appointment (she checked with me first) and she did an amazing job with Duchess. I have to admit this has to be her best grooming yet. You can tell that she enjoys her work by her performance. The grooming is on par with area groomers, but you get a more personalized touch, AND you don't have to leave your home. I have already recommended Amanda to family and will be using her again.

At 10 at night, the entire staff lovingly cared for him and quickly had him diagnosed, treated, prescribed meds, and recommended follow up treatments. Due to the pandemic, we couldn't meet with Dr. Coleman face to face, but she gave us everything we needed over the phone, and was as kind and gentle as she could be, even though the diagnosis itself was not good. We were so grateful for their care! We've been going to them for about 3 years, and they've helped us through putting down 2 of our pets, and were always kind and gentle. They even came to the house for one of them (our cat, who could not travel). These folks understand how much our pets mean to us. We're incredibly grateful we've got such a great place to bring our furry family to in their hours of need.

They kept him for two days they decided he had diabetes and put him on insulin. They told me we would have to check his blood two times a day. Sold me an expensive glucose monitor which they never set up. They sent us home with a monitor with no codes installed and not even batteries. Ultimately I found out I paid 3 times as much as it could have been bought at CVS. I went back a few days later and was basically told to stab his ear twice a day. They were incompetent, uncaring and expensive. I would never go there again. ​
