I can't speak on the services here but what I can say is the staff was very rude! I entered this building while doing a Dash. It was about 6 ladies behind the counter talking one on the phone so this doesn't include her. One sat behind the counter with her body facing away from me talking to the other ladies. Nobody took the time to even acknowledge I was there. Even with seeing me walk through the door! It was very unpleasant and uncomfortable. Finally after two minutes someone stated I had to go to another building. This was a very poor example of customer service and decency! Funny I was looking for a place to take my dog. I'm writing this with a heavy heart and deep frustration. I do NOT recommend Dr. Matthew Jones at Summit Bridge Veterinary Hospital. After adopting our dog, we brought her in for an initial check-up. We expressed concern about her excessive panting, which didn't seem normal to us. Dr. Jones quickly dismissed it, saying it was "just her breed," without conducting any further investigation or showing any concern. Months later, we scheduled a second appointment because she had stopped eating. Dr. Jones performed the standard checks such as palpating her stomach, examining her ears, teeth, etc. He determined those were normal. He said they needed a urine sample and took her outside. About 3 minutes later, he came back and said she hadn't urinated, so he used a syringe to extract urine directly from her bladder. When they returned, our dog laid down immediately. Dr. Jones told us her urine contained blood, and he also found a tumor on her spleen. I then noticed her ears were completely white. When she arrived, they were pink which is normal. He retrieved the ultrasound machine and stated that there was internal bleeding, particularly around the bladder area. The same area where he had just used the syringe. Her condition rapidly declined. Dr. Jones then bluntly told us we had two options: euthanize her on the spot or rush her to an emergency vet. There was no empathy, no sense of urgency or ownership, and no discussion of next steps beyond immediate euthanasia. I later spoke with a veterinary technician at the office who told me it's entirely possible that the act of extracting urine with a syringe may have caused internal injury which is something Dr. Jones never even acknowledged. We ended up leaving without our dog. Dr. Jones took no accountability, no responsibility, and showed no compassion throughout the entire process. There is no doubt in my mind that what happened at this clinic led to our dog's untimely and traumatic death. I will NEVER return to this place, and I strongly urge others to avoid taking their pets here, especially to Dr. Matthew Jones. read more

If I could leave a zero star I would. This place gave me the run around for years with my cats supposed "skin condition" that after a biopsy done of her head it was still persistent. IT ENDED UP BEING ALLERGIES THAT THEY NEVER EVEN BOTHERED TO TEST FOR! How i know this is, I moved from my previous home where her issues stayed consistent even after surgery for an auto biopsy was done to my new apartment where almost immediately, she did not need her cone anymore and her skin conditions went away. My other cat has a pissing problem, and they keep trying to prescribe anxiety medication which is fine as long as it can assist with his seperation anxiety. BUT...They prescribed a 62-dollar medication, I ordered a re-fill and it was 30 dollars. They never relayed any information to me about the product change from the manufacturer which IMO is very important. Not going back ever. This place needs to be shut down for over-charging, lying and also being very unprofessional. I dealt with health issues on both of my cats with zero competency about any sort of diagnosis. Okey, My female cat was spayed by this hospital on 27th, and then I found out my cat nipple had been cut off. I called many times to inquire and the doctor said THAT's FINE. This is hospital, I paid for it. But I think what a ridiculous thing it is to have a nipple removed. Is this medical malpractice? Why the hospital didn't notify me after the surgery. When I am on these words, my mood is complicated and sad. I don't want to convey negativity to anyone. My second cat was still being neutered here, and I chose to trust them, but they let me down again. I don't know why the hair on both legs was shaved and the skin was swollen and a horrible color. My first cat only had blood drawn and injected on one leg and only had one leg trimmed. I wonder if these doctors and nurses are taking my cat for blood drawing training? I want to know if this hospital has professional ethics. read more

We have been a client for 4 years. We have the monthly plan and I took my dog there every 2-3 weeks for a grooming appt. The one time my dog is sick they were unable to accommodate a visit. Each visit they offered was 3-4 days out. My pet fluctuated in the severity of her symptoms. Then got worse again on Thursday. We waited hoping they would squeeze us in over the weekend. Advised to go to Urgent Care. We were told they were overwhelmed with wellness visits on top of sick calls. They did run a stool sample for us. They have outgrown their staffing and the service is not there. No offer to have the doctor call. They cannot handle their volume of clients. Instead of hiring another doctor or not taking new clients, they choose to provide no service to the ones they already have. My dog remains ill , not dying but ill. We will go to urgent care today. We have found a new vet as well. I can no longer recommend this facility. I am not someone who would post in revenge. But if you love your dog or cat, you would want more for them than what they currently offer. read more

We take our very tiny Yorkie-chon here as it is nearby to us. The employees are all very kind and professional. The front desk girls included! I wouldn't trust anywhere else to take my baby. I've only had good experiences here and she has no problem being passed over to the very nice vet-techs each time. Which in itself tells a lot! Dogs can sense better than humans and she knows that everyone there is very nice and will treat her well despite getting vaccines! read more

Took my 2 dogs out of doggie daycare there. Most of the staff were nice but a few acted like they were doing us a favor by letting ud spend our money there. What absolutely had us take our fur babies out was the way our oldest dog(11.5 years old) was ignored while going through some skin/ fur issues. He looked pretty pitiful, but I guess to this particular young lady,he was untouchable. Watched video one particular day, and this same attendant went out of her way to ignore him when he clearly wanted her attention,a scratch on the head,a belly rub? Another male working with her did the same and actually stepped over him at one point and hit/kicked our boy in the side with his boot! Why would you walk over a dog when there is plenty of room to walk around? They denied all of it, although it was clearly on their own video recording. Strike 2 is when you look at paying customer in the eyes and lie! Who do I believe,them or the video? The video and my eyes! Our daughter was home for a visit and watched the video most of the day. She was very upset. This is our experience. I can give second chances,but not when it comes to animals who just want love and belly rubs. read more

THIS PLACE IS FILTHY!!! DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET THERE!!!! There was urine on the examination room floor and the vet tech asked me if it was my dog but I just entered the room!!! They took me and my dog on a tour of the place and it was totally filthy. We found more urine in a dog containment area and it made me sick. It wasn't from my dog because we just walked into the room. Ever since our visit my dog has been very, very sick. He was perfectly fine before we walked into that place - I think that the thermometer that they used was contaminated with something. They took me on a tour to the dog holding area which was ridiculously small and filthy. I would not go back to that place if my dog's life depended on it. Tomorrow I have to take him to the vet to cure whatever they gave him in the way of some kind of disease. read more

Thieves. Liars. Scammers. Do not take your pet here, they have no idea what they are doing and will steal your money on the false promise they do. I brought in fecal samples to get tested for worms. Took the time to separate all 5 animals separately. They didn't even look at the results and instead charged my card without my knowledge for an insufficient amount of de-wormer that wasn't even the correct product. I had to waste my gas and time having to return it to them. They then lied and said they looked at the fecal sample but in an email they told me they didn't. I brought in more fecal sample to get tested to which they assured me they tested and that there were NO worms. Instead of testing the fecal sample separately, they without my consent or knowledge prior, took a small sample of each, mixed them all together and looked at that one sample to which they charged me for it. They really thought this was a grand idea. Now let us say for example, if one cat has worms and four do not and you were to take a sample and mix them up to diminish the percentage of finding worms..... Of course a week later I see worms popping out of my cats butt. When I asked them to approve my de-wormer medicine at chewy.com, they told me there would be no problem. It took them over a week to approve a simple request. They told chewy.com that I was supposed to send them the prescription when they could have indeed faxed it over immediately. I asked for them to run a fungal culture on my cat because she itches to the point of tearing her skin out. They charged me 130 for this fungal culture to which they sent to Antech to get some clarity as to what is the cause. On the website they do tests for four weeks for a fungal culture. They instead LIED and did not send my results to get tested for a fungal culture to which they charged me the full monty for. They REFUSED to tell me the results of this fungal culture periodically. It took them a month later to tell me they only SUPPOSEDLY ran the just ONE FUNGIS for two weeks and REFUSE to send me the lab paperwork to what explains exactly what was tested. They REFUSE to refund me my money. I have to now go to court. read more

We brought our new puppy here for a wellness check. Due to COVID-19 protocols we could not go in with our puppy; however, this appointment would be the first and only time I ever spoke to a vet. No one clearly explained the shots necessary for our puppy and when they were due. In fact, on some visits, we were asked which shots he needed. I constantly had to call and see if he was old enough to have certain shots. One time we took him for grooming and a booster shot, however, at pick up we asked if he had gotten his shot and they realized they hadn't actually given it to him. So, we had to wait an additional 15 minutes while they rushed to give him the shot. I won't even mention the grooming job. Additionally, our puppy has suffered from bouts of diarrhea. We took him to Summit Bridge at least 3 times for this. Again, never once spoke to a vet. They also never once asked or mentioned a fecal sample. Our last and final visit they allegedly ran a test for a specific parasite. We were told it was negative but to keep the course of antibiotics. We finally took him to another vet because he still had diarrhea and the new vet tested for the same specific parasite, which he then tested positive for. He's now on different medication and it's working. Other than saying the staff is friendly I honestly don't have positive comments for this place. This is not my first dog and I was completely disappointed in the service we were provided and wished I had sought out another vet earlier. read more

Second time for a follow up it was $90 for them to test her urine ($55 after making me wait for 45 minutes) then $35 cuz I said my dog had a bump which the doctor checked in 5 seconds and said it was just her rib. After calling over 20 vet hospitals in the DE, MD, and PA area on May 21st, the only vet hospital who was able to help our 13 yr old kitty, Moot, transition, was Summit Bridge. One other set of vets was willing to come to the house for $600, which may be reasonable for a house call on a Saturday to euthanize an animal but was out of our price range. Summit Bridge employees were kind, compassionate, and so very thoughtful to us, and we had never been there before. Today we received a Sympathy card in the mail from them with a plantable heart filled with flower seeds and two paw prints with Moots name on each. They are definitely professionals and we would not hesitate to use them again. I wish they were closer to our home or I would have no problems switching to them to care for our 15 yr old feline. This is my new vet. My first and only experience with them so far is the day I called them when my 16 year old cat was dying, and my vet of many years was closed (it was a Saturday at 12pm). A woman Louisa answered the phone, and even though we had never spoken, she was empathetic and kind to me. She said that they closed at 3 that day and to bring my baby in. Then when we arrived, the whole staff was gentle and understanding, allowing me as much time as I needed to say goodbye. They even allowed me to hold my guy in my arms as he passed away, knowing he was loved. When I was leaving, I was a wreck, and Louisa brought out a kitten who needed a snuggle (as did I). This hospital is wonderful, and I would recommend it to anyone with furry family members. It's also a shelter, and they do aquamation, which is more environmentally friendly than cremation. Also, the place itself is super clean, no nasty smells. So that's a huge bonus, considering it's an animal hospital. About a week after my furry baby died, I received a very sweet sympathy card in the mail, in which everyone added a thoughtful handwritten note, they added his footprints, and some seeds to plant in his honor. I decided to bring my pupper here since it's in super close proximity to our home. she is a 3 month, 4 lb yorkie and the vet and techs here are INCREDIBLE!!! they absolutely love my puppy and take really good care of her! they are super understanding about how little she is and they only give her one shot at a time being that they don't wanna irritate or cause harm to her. The place is also SUPER CLEAN (totally appeals to my OCD side). The ONLY BAD THING I have to say is that this place is a little on the pricier side BUT with that being said they have payment plans that include wellness checks, routine testing and also vaccinations. It runs about $35/mth with a startup payment of $50. (waived with the clipper magazine coupon) Our first visit included getting my pup's nails clipped, ear testing, ear medicine (double yeast ear infection), vaccination and fecal testing and it ran me about $130 before the I presented the coupon on the clipper magazine. They offered to clean her ears but to save about $20, I opted that the tech show me how to do it and she did with no problem. Not gonna lie, I was super nervous going here especially since I recently put down my 16 yr old yorkie in August and he was a Red Lion Vet patient since he was a pup. I loved them but it was just a bit too far and a little pricey also. All in all, this place is amazing and I can't wait until my little pup is old enough to go to the daycare and socialize with others. They also do boarding. Hospital staff and medical support good, Grooming not so. Prices really high and don't do justice to the dog. I have an English Cream Retriever, Just bathing, Teeth brushing and anal glands costed me $100 (No De-shedding or grooming of hair, didn't even do sanitary or paws). On top of it, they kept my dog in Kennel for 4 hours without informing me that he was done. My dog is not a kennel dog, he does not like to be in closed tight spaces. We never crate him for that. And the groomer didn't bother to inform me that he was all done and that i could pick him up. Had dropped him at 8:30AM and had to call back at 4:00PM to know he was done hours before and was in the Kennel. When you go to pick up your groomed dog, what do you expect, that he should be looking all clean and brushed!!! Mine looked like a spiked porcupine, with all his hair standing up. As if he was blow dried in the reverse direction of his hair. I like the medical staff and support, but strongly advice against a costly groom here with little respect to the dog's looks/needs. read more

I really like that they offer so many things in one place. It is very clean. My biggest complaint is their requirements for grooming and I felt a bit taken advantage of. My dog is 9. I've had her groomed at at least 10 places and I even called more local places today and nobody requires the flu shot to get groomed. I took my dog here in March and paid for the flu shot. Apparently she needed a booster (during the pandemic) and since she didn't get it she now needs to "start over" so it's an extra $74 for the flu shot just to be able to get groomed! I don't board my dog and like I said, I haven't come across another groomer yet that requires the flu shot. So I paid for it in March and now they want me to start over. So that ends up being about $80 to get a bath and nail cut sounds like they're just trying to nickel and dime people. read more
