A few days later, as I write this I'm basking in the warmth of my new heater. The installation was smooth, painless, and well done. Despite some unexpected challenges in the home's design to figure out and overcome, they charged exactly their estimate; there were none of the kind of headaches or scams that one often expects dealing with contractors. Why did I agree to the third appointment? Because the owner promised us a full refund PLUS $1000 if they didn't show for the last appointment. I've tried calling, texting, and emailing them to resolve the issue, but they're definitely ignoring the problem. This was months ago, and to date, I've not received the service we paid for, received a refund, or even received a reply about the issue. Not only did they cut corners on several connections, but they wired the three mini-split heads out of order resulting in icing and eventual failure of connections and loss of coolant in the system. I paid Island Ductless (Whidbey Island - great company) over $2k to fix the problems when Puget heating refused to do anything due to being past their one-year labor warranty. This is not an issue that was noticeable during that year, but the problems were 100% caused by inept installation. Do not use this company! The below response is BS. It was the responsibility of Puget Heating to ensure that everything was installed and working correctly. Passing the blame to an electrician is just dodging their responsibility. I had to call them five times before they finally sent someone. Turns out the salesman hadn't secured the door properly, so the safety switch never engaged -- a super easy fix. We had a cold night with small kids in the house and they showed zero urgency fixing a problem they caused. Their quote was also the highest I got. I don't blame the salesman for the mistake, but the company doesn't stand behind their work at all. I'd never use them again and wouldn't recommend them to anyone.
