Reopened under new ownership! Wanted to preface this review with the note that this is under new ownership of this sushi vibe restaurant with all new employees. The menu is the same but the recipes are a little different. I got carry out for my wife and I of some favorites we have that we have gotten from here for years. My wife had the Chicken Yaki Udon with a side of Crab Rangoon ( which is her favorite) both were spot on and very tasty. I was a little disappointed with the sushi in that all three rolls in the combo had a "salad" style filling. Typically this had been a crab salad in the California roll with chunks of tuna and Salmon in the other two rolls. With them all being chopped up salad style and all having the other content the same they all tasted the same where it used to be three separate unique rolls. I had to ask for the soup and salad that came with the combo. In addition when I got home I found that they had not included any wasabi or pickled ginger with the sushi box. The service was prompt and courteous. We are thrilled to have them back in operation! I went with my brother to pick up carry out for dinner. I was visiting. Before we left the house, we looked over the menu and my brother placed an online order. My brother noted that he had been enjoying their food for number of years. There was plenty of parking in the lot where the restaurant is located. We were welcomed in. The staff there was very pleasant. There were tables for dine in. It was a clean restaurant with a bustling staff. Our order was ready and we headed back to the house. My bro got us some egg rolls. I chose the drunken noodles with chicken, a wide rice noodle with chicken and vegetables in a brown sauce. My brother got a variety of sushi and chicken udon soup. My sis-in-law chose yaki udon with chicken. Everything was still hot when we got back to the house and we dug in. The egg rolls were crispy with a pleasant filling. I enjoyed my noodle dish. I love sushi, so when a friend of mine found out, he took me here. I let him place the order. I had never had salmon, so he ordered salmon, as well as eel, octopus, tuna and crab. I was pretty excited to be eating some sushi. I was a little weirded out with the eel and octopus, but it was fantastic! The eel was good, but if I had to choose, I'd take the octopus over the eel. It was all really good. I was impressed with this place. It was kinda small, but comforting to be in. We sat at tables with chairs, I didn't see any booths, but then again, I was too busy looking at the menu trying to decide what to get (glad he ordered). The tables were clean, not sticky, and the chairs were clean as well. The waitress was super sweet and came and checked on us quite often. The prices weren't bad either. Excellent sushi, great variety of other dishes. We love their double shrimp roll, their spicy California roll, the Friends roll, and their gyoza. My daughter likes the chicken ramen too. I've come here for lunch twice so far. I've never had to wait for a table despite the small seating area. Either not many people know there's sushi in Milford, or not many people like Japanese food in the area. Works for me; I like not waiting in line! They have a large menu covering various lunch specials (the Bento boxes look good) and tons of Japanese dishes. A separate sheet is for sushi. The expo marker is already at the table. I usually opt for some sashimi, roll, and/or a few apps. The seaweed salad is reasonably priced so I pretty much always get that. The sashimi is nice thick cuts. Depending on what you order your lunch can get expensive. (Chirashi is ~$17). The nice part is they have real crab on the menu (but most rolls still use imitation so read accordingly). Some recent stuff I've eaten: - Godzilla roll: this thing is huge. My coworker ordered this and a salad and had trouble finishing it. I had to help eat 2 of the pieces (and they are NOT bite size). - Gyoza: vegetarian! Seemed a little overfried (bits of black) but crunchy. - Crab Rangoons: Kinda small app, but plenty of cream cheese inside. Service can be a hit or miss. We were only there for ~40min and we got switched waiters like 3 times. Sometimes they were quick with refilling waters; other times not. Never had I waited as long as Smoke Street though...BUT they're pretty good about split checks here. NOTE: No GM discount that I know of - even though there is a GM Bento Box, haha read more

First time here was a couple weeks ago. We finally stopped in and tried it. WOW! Yummie!! It only took us 4 years of living in Milford before we dined here. Should have done so sooner. We had drunken noodles, medium spicey, sweet and sour shrimp, spring rolls and crab rangoon. Everything was absolutely delish. Say hi to Bill, the proprietor and head chef. What a nice person. Horrible food. We have passed this place by for over 3 years in favor of our regular sushi joints which were serving only limited menus on this day due to COVID-19 and strong Mothers Day orders. We carried out due to the COVID-19 closure of their dining room. The menu looks appetizing on first glance with a mixture of Japanese,Chinese and Thai items. That should have been a clue. The prices were very high because they serve only 1 piece per order of nigiri. But we needed some sushi so we made an order for 3 of us including appetizers. Over $120. On pickup we had a mixed reaction. The dingy looking dining area was dark with the smell of stale grease from the grill which is in the dining room. Two guys worked behind the counter. The order was ready as promised and was presented quite attractively on the clear plastic platter. Some of the order was served in styrofoam which is another turn off. We had a mixture of nigiri, rolls and hand rolls. The sushi pieces were huge. Way too big to eat I; one piece. The fish was tasteless and not fresh looking. Not enough seasoned vinegar in the sticky starchy rice. The tempura shrimp appetizer was soggy with stale oil. Only 2 pieces of shrimp and lots of broccoli, sweet potato and zucchini. Almost inedible. In the end! We dispatched of almost half our order into the disposal. Such a waste of money. With so many authentic Japanese and Korean owned Sushi bars in this part of SE Michigan, it is sad that people don't know good sushi and rate this place 4.5 stars. It doesn't even come close. I haven't been disappointed here as of yet best I can find by my home in Milford yet again I just moved here and haven't really explored around, quality is there and staff is nice but it takes for me to be blown away to throw out a five star, that's just me personally, would recommend to friends for sure read more

Oh Tokyo was a fantastic find when I moved to Milford. Although their primary offering is sushi, which has been fantastic every time I have had it, my favorite dish here is actually the Pad Thai. The noodles are cooked perfectly to my liking (which for this dish is a little on the soft side), the sauce is similar to the typical sauce you'd get at other places, but this one has something just a bit unique that makes it stand out. I have had it with both chicken and shrimp, both were great (no "yucky" chicken here). I did try the Chicken Teriyaki dish last time and that was a bit of a disappointment; it just tasted like one I would make at home with grocery store, bottled Teriyaki sauce. Just picked up a carry out from oh Tokyo. I ordered the Gary Roll As described in the screenshot on their website from ohTokyosushi.com which was shrimp tempura with crab on top and spicy sauce. I opened my box I found raw tuna in my roll with shrimp on top. I called oh Tokyo shortly after getting home and told them my issue, I spoke with a woman on the phone who was very rude to me about the issue. She continually told me that I was incorrect and that I was looking at the wrong menu but also told me the correct menu was on the exact cite that I was referring too. She offered me no solution and it was an awkward conversation and I am unhappy with this outcome. read more

Moved here about a year ago from Saginaw and was really missing the comforts of home when it comes to Japanese Food/Sushi. To get my fix, I usually head for Novi. To my pleasant surprise, I found Oh Tokyo on Yelp and thought I'd check it out. First, the atmosphere has great energy. It's cozy, warm, and unexpected. The food was an A+! My little man (5 yrs old) and I shared the Bento box and there was more than enough for us. Too much actually :) The chicken & vegetables was delicious, the rolls....divine! The tempura....as good as it gets. Our server was very personable and helpful (she heard my son coughing and offered an ancient remedy to help cure colds). Would I go again? Went in to night to find that Kevin sold the business! Luckily Gary is still there, there is now no alcohol anymore though. They have a new menu but some of the old favorites still, I ordered the Gary roll and a Spicy California roll and my husband had the steak and shrimp dinner. The dressing for the salad is different and has a bit too much ginger. My Spicy California roll had no flavor and I only ate one piece, the Gary roll was not much better. The Wasabi sauce was weak and watered down and the tuna was low grade, mushy and had no flavor. My husband's dinner was a little better, he did say the steak was a lower quality but the shrimp was good.
