Had the steak Teriyaki noodle bowls. My steak was not tender and half of it had a funny light color. Not a good flavor. Noodles were just spaghetti noodles. 3 pieces of broccoli. I would not order it again. We had a bad aftertaste after we left from eating it. California roll was good. Krabstick not krabsalad which was good Nagiri -fish was fresh. I've had door dash from here and take out once. I highly recommend. It's better than sushi in Brighton or having to drive down to Ann Arbor. Both times I got the Monster Roll & the Fried Spicy California roll. Each roll was excellently portioned between the rice and other ingredients. The tuna on the monster roll was perfectly seared. Although they do a huge amount of takeout business in the front the entire restaurant is still available and open for dine in and I like to sit in the back booths where it is quieter. My family and I usually get the same things. We split a shrimp tempura roll to begin with. Then I always get the beef teriyaki or shrimp teriyaki bento box. The bento box also comes with several pieces of a California roll, 2 fried spring rolls, and a delicious creamy rice. The steak is always tender and they are generous with the number of shrimp. We've had the hibachi entrees a couple of times, both chicken and shrimp. Both are ok, with good portions of meat, and the kind of soy/ginger flavor you'd expect. The portion of shrimp in the shrimp dinner came was surprisingly generous. Sakura offers the option of substituting extra vegetables for the noodles in the dinner portion, which is nice, though the portions of vegetables are very small to begin with. Still, after the meat and rice, I'm not sure how much else I could eat in the same sitting. Estimates given for time to pickup on take out orders have been accurate. Perhaps one of the better takeout options in South Lyon, especially considering prices. read more

Excellent food and service, the interior decorating is plan but unique in itself. I've had a lot of sashimi as well as sushi and for being so far from an ocean this was top notch. Came in for dinner, and spent the next 20 minutes waiting for someone to take an order. The waitress was the same lady answering the phone and ringing up the carry-outs. I'm not even kidding when I say that I would of been served quicker phoning in an order from the booth 4 feet away. We sprung for the brown rice for a little resemblance of nutrition which cost 9 dollars extra and made every roll taste like unseasoned and unflavored cardboard. If the bland tasteless rolls weren't bad enough we were served a receipt that put an easy worse taste in my mouth than the sushi rolls. Apparently ordering brown rice on the rolls make you ineligible for the 3 rolls for 11.95$ special even though as astutely as I showed the waitress was stated no where on the menu. Eventually, after what seemed like an awkward 30 seconds of a blank I'm not budging stare down from her I folded my hand.. fine whatever you say. Paying 8 dollars for a classic tuna avocado roll I expect exquisite taste and service both of which came up extremely lacking. So enjoy my $10, because I will never be returning. read more

Great experience from Sakura today. Teppenyaki/Hibachi is something we have only had tableside with a live chef so carrying out was a new frontier. We ordered the steak and chicken hibachi dinner with some extra sides of rice and noodles. The food was cooked perfectly, including the medium rare on the steak. Rice and noodles were cooked just right and seasoning was in point.it was more than enough food for 2. Additionally, the meal was packed very very well. This is extremely important for us since we are avoiding dining rooms during these times of social distancing and face coverings. I will be honest I would've never tried this place if it wasn't for grub hub. It doesn't seem like a lot from the outside although it's very beautiful on the inside. This is my go to order in place. The food is always sooo good and tasty. I usually have the shrimp lunch or dinner. Depends what time of the day. I forgot the dinner cake with noodles and it was a great surprise. I do wish that the meal came with more veggies, but they don't chicken you out with meat. They definitely give you good portions. The meal size is very filling even the lunch size. This was my first time, being new to South Lyon. I forgot my purse and I am technically challenged but she taught me how to use my Apple Pay! The young lady at the counter was so helpful! And the Pontiac roll was absolutely wonderful! Very clean establishment, including the bathroom! Extremely nice and helpful staff. I'm sure I will be back many times! Glad to see there's finally a Sushi place in South Lyon... but it wasn't all that great. Wife and I shared a few elaborate rolls and those I'll admit were tasty.. However I'm a big fan of good nigiri and basic rolls... Their sushi options were limited... and the tuna was a bit bland.. I enjoy a good Saba nigiri and they didn't offer it.. They did have Hamachi so that was nice, and their portion of salmon was decent over my rice, but again I'm craving a few more options.. Having said that, the place is new so the decoration is very updated, comfortable, even a little upscale-trendy.. The menu also included a few other more Asian-fusion items so I understand that caters to a wider crowd... I believe we will go back cause it's convenient and local, the service is friendly and timely, and the food is decent =) read more

I'm new to sushi, but everything I've tasted from this place has been nothing short of delicious. Their eel cucumber roll is succulent, the eel tender and mild. I always request a bit of eel sauce on top, an almost teriyaki flavored soy sauce. I have also sampled their California roll, Spider roll, and snowshoe crab roll. All have been very tasty!
