Jr. came out to greet me when I first arrived at Ohana Motors. I knew which vehicle I was interested in. He did briefly show me other cars but I stuck to what I wanted. We took a test drive and he was very friendly and explained a bit about the car. When we came back we got started with my paper work. We agreed on what I wanted my monthly payments to be. l bought a 2014 Toyota Tacoma with 65,000 miles on it. I was stoked, the customer service was great, got me out same day with the truck. The truck seemingly ran fine and everything appeared good aside from the 8 year old tires on the truck which I spent $1,100 replacing. No Rust! About 3 months later I take it in for an oil change and an inspection.. ended up needing to replace Fan clutch, Idler pulley, Lower control Arms + Alignment, Tie Rods, Alternator(was cracked and failing), CV Axles, Brake lines, Front differential had no fluid in it. I was told the truck was serviced, the oil was changed before i bought it, the oil was black and thin as water after 2500 miles. I was told to bring the truck in to Ohana's mechanics, who said the truck is fine and nothings wrong with it, went and dropped the brand new diff fluid right after to find excess metal shavings and black diff fluid after less than 200 miles of it being flushed and refilled. Ended up having to replace the front differential and the brand new CV axels which had failed due to a failing diff. Not even two weeks later, here I am now with check engine lights and a code for bad knock sensors. I am currently $9600 deep into a $26,000 dollar truck I thought i was buying from a reputable source. All of my friends and family feel bad that this is happening and say I should take legal action. Im not sure what to do at this point. The only support ive gotten from Ohana was a trade in offer which now doesnt make sense because im $9600 in debt on top of what I still owe on the truck and basically have a lifetime warrantied all new front end. Ive already had several people tell me if they knew I was going to Ohana, to not buy a used vehicle from them. In my opinion, this does not feel like "Ohana" read more

I'm still upset and disturbed. I'm not sure how these people have good reviews. Are the reviews real? My husband is a nice guy. He wanted to sell my car so I could upgrade. He got a quote from Green and I finally agreed to sell my car since we are moving. We waited for Green to test drive the car. His boss test drove the car. The price fluctuated up from what he quoted my husband for blue book (we have the email) and he asked what my final number was. I gave him my final number, which is the number he told my husband a few weeks ago. Green said his manager was in Seattle and he needed to get his approval. After an hour ordeal, Green low balls the offer to even lower than what he himself offered 5 minutes before. what kind of business is this???? Also. to low ball the offer he said there were air conditioning noise etc. I have serviced my vehicle with the auto maker company since I bought the car and we just serviced it...absolutely no issues. I'm all for negotiating but I will not tolerate deception to make a buck...This is a small island, I will never recommend this place. read more

The staff here are very friendly and helpful. There's lots of second hand cars to choose from. My car dealer's name Rhys (Reese) helped me out a lot. He gave me options on cars that would interest me. I ended up getting a 2009 Honda Pilot. V6 fuel efficient. 2x4 automatic. It's bigger than my old car and more spacious then a Ford Focus. I went in last evening to just take a look. The salesperson was very nice and he did his job.. HE GOT THE SALE. But what I'm unhappy about is the terms and financing.... I was very honest and told him my credit was not great (getting better), informed him where I think I should be cost wise to be able to get into something. He shows me a really good truck and we look at one more over the cost I believe I could get into. Now remember it's late in the day and they want to make the sale, they ask what we can do.. I needed to be within a certain monthly payment..so we make a deal on that amount. What he did not do, was disclose the interest rate nor the amount of payments. I get rushed from sales to finance (because they are closed) and sign papers, initial things.... hurrying to get into my new truck(because they are closed and everyone, including me wants to get home). Now the woman does go over my interest rate and terms but RUSHED and as I'm going home I'm going over things in my head. I'm like yikes 84 payments I didn't even know that existed.... I call the salesman at 8:30 am to tell him that there is no way I can do this and he informs me that the contract is binding and no way out. I inform him that every contract has 72 hours to review for this reason alone... well I initialed on their contract that they do not have a72 hour return policy. I went to the bank who is financing it to see what I can do, and have them stop the loan process..which only just started (after my phone call that morning). But he couldn't stop it, but I was topic for discussion that day (the girl who greeted me knew my name, and said she knew who was processing the loan). My credit score was so close to the next tier for a better %rate and that 84 months was not even a standard term(hence topic for discussion). I've been at this bank since I've moved here and I've been a great member, with no bounced checks, etc. I'm recovering from a divorce and I'm almost out of this credit hell... this will only keep me in my same situation THEIR GREED to make the sale Was Wrong... never did they, until the last second, tell me the whole picture.. Before this, i kept saying I really need to think about things. I did just buy a house (my parents helped me with the financing) and I need to be sure of everything. I get they are sales people and I don't blame him but I blame the injustice of less than 12 hours(because they are closed) to have been able to consider what happened. I got there around 4:45 and by 6:20 I drove away in a vehicle. I'm not giving up the fight, with Ohana Motors and I am sure there is something I can do. If anything I hope I can help someone else from making my mistake, DO NOT buy a vehicle From them. They are dishonest and not giving someone a chance to read all the fine or LARGE print, time to process the information is wrong. Go anywhere but there... My bank even called and asked that they reconsider in good faith. Also my bank informed me that this is not the first time they have encountered this.... GO ANYWHERE BUT HERE. read more

I apologize to the nice staff who works there but the owner is not... Advertised a higher model vehicle then what was sold, when we informed the owner he took us into his office and refused to compensate for even a fraction of the difference a few days after purchase. Should we have been more careful? probably. We were lucky to sit in his leather chair office, adorned with animal heads on the wall only to tell us that the error was a mistake but would not budge, basically forcing our hand like a typical used car salesman. We produced blue book value for the model car sold versus the difference between models, but yet he refused to even discuss the matter, then got upset and started yelling!, threatening to kick us off of his property. Truly made us feel like like he knew he was caught in a lie but refused to acknowledge it. Well good news is we waited politely and informed friends of our ordeal. Over the course of some time I truly feel I have given honest advice to others that this place is no good, there is no 'Ohana' in his motors... Assuming that he makes an average of $2k on each car sold I think I relieved him much much more in sales over a couple years time through word of mouth (yes over a car that cost less then $10k). read more

Bought a used van from Ohana that was a good deal. The whole purchase was a breeze and our salesman was helpful and friendly. We left satisfied customers. At the time of purchase we were only given 1 electronic key and promised another within 2 weeks. 2 months, NUMEROUS phone calls, and even a couple stop in's later, Ohana Motors FINALLY begrudgingly agreed to set up an appointment for us to get another electronic key made. They told us the date, time, and location of the appointment, but gave us the incorrect time and location. A few days before the appointment we went to Ohana Motors to get our new electronic key blank. I stood at the front desk and one of the employees found it and gave it to me. The morning of the key appointment, Ohana Motors called to accuse us of taking the wrong key off of the salesman's desk and to inform us we forgot our paperwork needed for the new key to be made. What the heck?! We didn't even go near the desk and clearly, THEY forgot to give us the paperwork. Considering the appointment was in 20 minutes, Ohana Motors agreed to take the paperwork to the place the key was being made so we wouldn't be late. During this conversation, we again verified the time and location of the appointment. We went to Lihue for the appointment at Kuhio Motors (where we were told to be) and when we arrived, Kuhio employees kindly told us that we obviously had the wrong location. They suggested we go to King Auto Group. So we did, thinking we were now late for our appointment at the REAL location. We arrived at King Auto only to be told our appointment wasn't for 30 more minutes. We were pretty frustrated, to say the least, and felt that Ohana Motors did a terrible job handling their mistake, trying to cover their butts with more stupidity. They took satisfied customers and completely soured us on their service. We definitely will not be recommending them to anyone nor will we ever buy ANYTHING from Ohana Motors again. read more
