That window, and the fact that it's a standard (not guaranteed) service, only came up when the crew showed up for pickup. * The 12% fuel surcharge was never mentioned verbally. * My original estimate was $3,655.68 for 350 cu.ft. By the time I signed, it was $5,262.12 for 425 cu.ft. -- 44% higher, sprung on me with the crew already there. * Their initial sales email explicitly called delivery within 21 business days "guaranteed." That word was never used again in any later communication once it mattered. * I was told my shipment would dispatch "this week." It didn't, no update, no explanation. Delivery ultimately showed up roughly 10 business days after their own contractual deadline. The driver didn't even know his own company owed a $30/day late penalty -- he had to check. I only got that credit because I pushed for it myself. Then, on delivery day, they sent a full-size 18-wheeler to an apartment complex with a normal circular parking lot entrance that other carriers handle without issue. It couldn't get in. Goods had to be reloaded onto a smaller truck on the spot -- a completely avoidable failure that ate back into the small credit I'd just fought for. Every step of this, from the first sales call to the delivery truck itself, required me catching something they either omitted or got wrong. Would not use again and would not recommend.

The JVA moving crew were meticulous in packing our belongings- it was dumping rain and they wrapped just about everything we owned to ensure it did not get wet; we didn't even have to ask, they just did their thing! Two hours from start to finish. They (two men) moved all my stuff from a bedroom to my new studio apartment in under the three hour minimum--but that's okay. With the truck rental it was $437 total. These guys--the do not milk the clock. They move with speed, putting everything in these huge 60" x 24" boxes, except for the furniture. EVERYTHING gets wrapped like a palette 360 degrees around. I just stayed out of their way, and within one hour they had everything loaded up. They brought a 24' truck, which was bigger than I expected. The drive was 30 minutes to my new place and unloading took about 45 minutes. They had me sign a standard moving contract, and I absolutely appreciate the 10% military discount, and another 3% for paying cash. FANTASTIC, could not say one thing bad. Horrible moving experience -- significantly exceeded estimate, poor planning, and no resolution…read more I had a very disappointing experience with All Service Moving. I was originally given an estimate of approximately 3-4.5 hours and $690-$800 for my small single bedroom apartment. Instead, my move took approximately 6.5 hours and cost me over $1,000. A major issue was the truck that was sent for my move. I was moving out of an approximately 600-square-foot apartment, and the truck was significantly larger than necessary -- it ended up being only about 40% full. Because of the truck's size, it couldn't access the loading area where it needed to park, which meant the movers had to make much longer trips between the truck and my apartment. This added a considerable amount of time to the move. Photos and information about both locations were available beforehand, and had been viewed so I don't understand why an appropriately sized truck wasn't selected. The other major issue was the pace of the move. I repeatedly observed the movers not actively working. Nearly every time I went outside, they were standing around talking, laughing, or on their phones. When I went back into my apartment while they were working inside, I observed similar periods where they were not actively moving items. I completely understand that reasonable breaks are necessary, but this was far beyond what I expected when I was being charged by the hour. The movers were polite during the actual move, and I initially had no concerns about their interpersonal conduct. Unfortunately, that changed afterward. One of the movers began repeatedly contacting me on my personal phone asking about a tip and a five-star review. I repeatedly explained that I intended to tip but was waiting for a bank transfer to clear and that it would take a few days. Despite that explanation, I received multiple texts a day asking about it. I ultimately felt harassed and uncomfortable enough that I blocked the number. I contacted the company afterward and gave them a detailed explanation of my concerns, including the oversized truck, the additional time and cost, the repeated periods where the movers weren't actively working, and the inappropriate pressure regarding the tip. Unfortunately, they did nothing to resolve the situation. The Operations Manager's response was simply: "It is Unfortunate that I must inform you That we cannot issue you any kind of reimburse you any kind of refund." There was no meaningful response to the specific concerns I raised and no attempt to address why a move estimated at 3-4.5 hours and $690-$800 turned into a 6.5-hour, $1,000+ move. I was promised a certain level of service and a guaranteed timeframe/cost, and that expectation was not met. I gave the company an opportunity to make the situation right, and they declined to do anything. I would strongly recommend getting very specific information about truck size, access, estimated hours, and what happens if the move significantly exceeds the estimate before booking with this company. My experience left me feeling like I paid substantially more because of poor planning and an inefficient move, and then received no meaningful response when I brought those concerns to the company.

By the time we got to the new place I did not want to unload anything so I found these guys and they were able to help with same day reservation. Kevin was kind, professional, and delicate with my items. They did not damage anything and they finished really fast with just 2 guys. They were great at communicating where they were and even arrived at the U-Haul early to see if they could make sure my U-box was there. The two-man team of Sopa and Talia (spelling could be wrong, sorry!) were so courteous and friendly. They unloaded my U-box into a truck in a half hour and then unloaded it all into my new apartment in an hour. They were careful with my things and did the move quick and efficiently! I was sure that it would take longer than the 3 hour minimum, but Sam and Dastan were miraculously able to wrap up the job in 3 hours on the dot. They were up front and transparent about any extra charges (we were charged $150 for the 32 steps up to our flat). And these guys worked HARD with hardly any downtime or breaks. I was floored. You may be able to find a lower hourly rate with other moving companies in the city but I was beyond pleased with their hard work and was happy to pay the rate with how quickly they got the job done. Nothing was broken, including my vintage floor lamp that I was worried about. I would highly recommend this company, they aren't kidding calling themselves the G.O.A.T.
