I pulled both my dogs records and transferred to Stonewall after the way my husband was treated by the receptionist yesterday. He was 9 minutes late for a simple wellness checkup and she informed him he would now pay an additional $26 as a punishment. She them further humiliated him by saying they will treat the visit of my 17 year old dog as a "curbside" visit. This means the tech comes out and asks questions and then takes the dog back to the doctor - my husband was not allowed to go back with the dog to talk to the doctor! The visit was over after 22 minutes and the dog returned to my husband. He then has to wait 6 minutes for them to give him a bottle of pills. My husband is not the type to cause a scene. Good thing this did not happen to me! Another example of POOR CLIENT RELATIONS!! They lost my business and everyone I know will hear about this disgusting behavior. read more

Ohana is wonderful. I went with my mom a number of years ago when one of her dogs was having health problems. Sadly, we had to have him put down. Dr. Medici was wonderful. She stayed in the room with us, pet and comforted our dog, and was overall very gentle and sensitive to my mom, myself, and the dog. It made the grieving process a little easier to know she cared as much as she did. Fast forward, I brought my cat here recently for a check up after we adopted him last weekend. I saw Dr. Chu, who is a wonderful doctor. The staff there is always so friendly and pleasant, and they do excellent work (we had a nail clip and sanitary shave -- cat is a Ragdoll lol). My mom has been going there for years with her greyhounds, and now I'll be going there for years with my ragdoll. read more

I don't like to write these kind of reviews we took our furbaby to Ohana because it was recommended by a family member and in the beginning it was great not sure what happened but just this morning my little guy got sick and had to be taken to urgent care when I gave them the heads up they acted unconcerned and my boy is family not a push over, not a number sick ones should be made priority especially when excessive vomit is concerned on a small breed they can easily dehydrate. It is 3:30 and no check in or update from his vet or techs on wether they want to see him to check him over so I found him a new vet that makes priority to sick babies and they can see him tomorrow. read more

We decided to take our puggle, Daisy, here for wellness checkup. After researching different veterinarians in the area, we decided on Ohana because of all their great reviews. We definitely weren't disappointed! From our first encounter of setting our appointment, we received great service and experienced the amazing and friendly staff. When we came for our appointment, we were quickly greeted and Daisy was treated very well. Their main lobby is so welcoming and tidy. Shortly after checking in, we were called to an exam room. The staff was great with Daisy, who is normally pretty scared of new people. They knew exactly how to approach and care for her so that she wasn't too scared to be near them. Our appointment was with Dr. Germaine, who was amazing with Daisy. She didn't seem to be scared at all! She was very friendly and helpful. Everyone at the office is so great! It's been 11 years from the first incident, about 7 years from the last. Both have been so traumatic and horrendous that I never thought to leave a review until my app asked me about it today. Our puppy, Oliver- was very sick in 2011. After x rays and tests- they could not find out what was wrong beyond an intestinal blockage. They never prepared us for the cost and, because they closed around 6pm or so and had no answers, they charged us (2 sophomore college students) $500 and said to take him to the emergency vet for after hours care. Never called to check back in. Turns out our puppy had parvo and- after all the work the ER vet did- our boy Oliver did survive. For whatever terrible reason- convenience, I think- our kitten Thackery was sick and I took him to Ohana around 2015. The doctor ( owner I believe) told me his liver was failing and he would be soon going into seizures and eventually death. With me right there, she stabbed Thackery with a syringe and extracted yellow liquid from his liver to prove to me how sick he was. I'm still horrified to this day how she treated Thackery like he was a rotten vegetable that needed to be thrown away. I was shocked, petrified, trying not to cry in front of these cold and detached strangers. I said I wanted his pain to end and they asked if I wanted to be there when they euthanized him. For the rest of my life, my heart breaks when I remember how scared I was to say this was real and to be there for Thackery when he needed me. Because I know no one at Ohana was there for him. I'm forever changed for the worst because of this clinic. I will remember this pain until the day I die. So, maybe they might provide good care in many cases and be a great experience for many....but I am going to forever be in grief over their failures and I need at least some record- even a little review on yelp. Something to say Thackery was here and lived- and died- a pathetic death because of the cruelty of a 9-5 job who loses humanity for the creatures in the times where we all need it the most. read more

Even on short notice, they somehow manage to get us in and the follow up is an indication of their commitment. We have been with Dr. Medici before she opened her own practice and when we lost an aging Lab, she came outside to my vehicle and cried with me. My dogs come here. My boyfriend's dog comes here. I suggest this place to every new dog owner I know that does not have a vet yet. I've been living in the area for the last 12 years. My dogs have been to VCA and Banfield, but those don't compare to Ohana. They don't charge you an arm and leg here and the service is great. Dr. Medici is wonderful. You can tell she really cares about every animal that comes through her door and she's super sweet to our babies. Even though my stepdad moved out of the area, he still drives 40 minutes to bring them here because this place is awesome. We've had great moments and sad moments here. Two of my dogs had to be put to sleep due to cancer and old age. She always said our rotties were the sweetest she's ever met. It was a rough time for us and we weren't ready to let go, but they were patient, kind, and helped us get through it. I really love this place. I just took my pit here for the first time and as soon as we came in, we were greeted with such friendly faces. They made me feel very welcome and seemed genuinely happy to see us. We arrived 15 mins prior to our appt and we're seen within 10 mins of being there (while I filled out the paperwork). Katherine was awesome with Buddy, and helped calm him down while he got a little nervous. I loved her patience with him. Dr. Kao is very courteous and I appreciate her explaining everything out for me. This place does not push you to do anything you do not wish to do. They will make suggestions and try to help you out in any way. I don't feel pressured in any way, and I very much respect that. They will let you know what is best for your pet, and handle them in the upmost professional way. I have been to a couple vets in the last few years with different pets, and this place is the absolute best. Their prices are also very very reasonable. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Ohana. Seriously! So my confession is that I've always taken my pets to Caring Hands, just because it was easy and they had the historical knowledge on my girls. I've never had this great "oh I love my vet" experience there but they did a good job and that's what I paid them for - until Ohana came along. I regularly take strays because I live on the edge of a very, very, large field - normally they don't wind up going to the vet but when one is particularly friendly or noticably injured I'll do my best to get them care. In this case; "Scooter" was a super friendly kitty with a horrible abcess on his jaw/mouth area. I was leaving for vacation the next morning and was desparate to get him some care - so on a whim I called Ohana and said "this is your chance to earn my business; can you squeeze me in?" and they DID! Awesome #1 I wasn't prepared for that absolutely amazing environment that Dr Medici has in her practice! Each person I dealt with was wonderful and attentive; all the focus was on the need of the pet and his comfort(awesome#2)and Dr Medici went above and beyond in helping me get care for this kitty, get him to a forever home and FOLLOWED UP (wow, awesome #3) with me on vacation. I can say nothing negative about my experience here. All of the employees from the front desk to the vet tech and the veterinarian were great. They were all super friendly and great with Penny. They did all appropriate tests and didn't force anything unnecessary on me. They call to confirm appointments which is great because I'm good at forgetting things! The overwhelming good reviews surprise me. I found this place underwhelming. They forced me to get a checkup for my dog who only needed his anal glands expressed (an in and out vet tech procedure). The vet that I saw during the exam didn't really seem to know what she was talking about - told me that my dog doesn't have a cataracts when he clearly does and has been diagnosed by multiple other vets with one. She said his eye is just reflective of a different color, idk what that means, but his eye is cloudy white af HE HAS A CATARACT. Obviously, the diagnoses is completely unnecessary to squeeze fish sauce from his bottom, but it just made me feel like I couldn't come back here if I had a real problem with the pooch. read more

Last week, my precious pup, Walter, was having reverse sneezing attacks. When he woke me up at night sneezing, I got very worried and knew I needed to have him seen by a veterinarian. Because I had moved around, I wanted to find a new vet for Walter. I found Ohana on Yelp, and let me tell you, the positive reviews are true! Every staff member at Ohana is incredibly kind and clearly loves animals. The person scheduling the appointment was so empathetic to my concerns and had me talk to a teach about Walter's symptoms to decide if it was an emergency or could wait for the appointment. When we set up the appointment, they were so helpful finding a time that worked around my schedule. They are open late Tuesdays and Thursdays to make it easier for those who work. At the appointment, I was immediately put at ease. The vet was fantastic with Walter! He can be skitterish, but they were patient with him and even gave him some cheese to nibble on during the exam and his shots. When it was payment time, I was informed of their military discount. My fiancé is an army vet but wasn't at the appointment with me. He texted me a photo of his military ID, and I was able to save 10%! We really appreciated the support for the military. My husband and I really liked how they treated our dog, Lilly. We brought her to get her annual shots & have her right leg checked since she was limping after jumping off the bed funny. They didn't immediately suggest x-rays and blood work which usually costs a lot of money plus the blood of our first born. They determined she has inflammation in her right hip and knee and gave us some anti inflammatory for her. While they took her temp and gave shots they gave her cheese on a stick which she LOVED!!! She has been doing wonderful since we have been giving her medication. And the prices? Amazing. Bigger plus for us is the military discount. If you like to be rushed in and out with a cursory exam at best this is your place. Questions unanswered. The most time spent talking to me was to show me the bill. After spending over $500 at this visit for one dog, I was denied the ability to purchase preventive heartworm medication for my other dog because her last physical exam expires tomorrow. No she is not late for her exam. They prefer to hold her ridiculously expensive preventive medication hostage until she is seen again. They must be desperate for business and it is obvious where there priorities lie. Look elsewhere for care, it you really want someone who cares about your pet. read more

My dog has a skin condition that has been very difficult to treat. After several vets and a bunch of different regiments we found a dermatologist that was able to get our dog better. It was amazing! We started taking the dog to Ohana as his regular vet and to help monitor his progress. He was taken off of one of his medications and his condition worsened. We went to Ohana and they gave us some wipes. We tried getting into the dermatologist again but they are back logged by many months. We called Ohana last night and they told us to bring the dog back today and they would look at him. They have a relationship with the dermatologist and told us they could help. We brought him in today and the girl says we'll just give him wipes again. I was a bit confused but she wasn't the vet so I waited for the dog to be seen. The vet called me up afterwards to inform me that they won't be doing anything she said she had a treatment that would work but she wants to let her friend see our dog first. I informed them we couldn't seem to get an appointment and the vet told me she had inside information about why the derm was so delayed but then offered no further solution. When I told her it has taken us a year to get the dog to this point and he is falling apart again, we can tell he's headed for very rough times again. This vet said she is going to wait on the dermatologist who we can't see for reasons we aren't allowed to know about. read more
