I love this Vet clinic and truly wish it was closer! Back in November I rescued a puppy from Hart90. The adoption agency "Hart90" partners with Anicira to have their rescue's spayed/neutered. The rescue also requires pets to be fixed early on. I had every hesitation about fixing my four month old puppy. BUT this place was efficient and put my worries at ease. Even a short period after, the incision looked off to me so I sent in an email. They corresponded with me over email, allowing me to send photos. Again, saving me from a trip out there and worrying. The blonde lady who sits at the desk on the right was incredibly rude and had no customer service skills at all. She asked if I had any questions about my dogs surgery. Then when I asked a question she said read the paper. I said I have read the paper. I asked another question and she was so insanely rude I can't believe anyone would employ her. She said read the paper again. I had read that paper 4x. I then said "are you not able to answer questions?" And then she said they'll answer questions when u pick your dog up. Okay so why did you ask if I had any questions AND THEN PROCEED TO NOT ANSWER QUESTIONS AND BE ANNOYED. Management needs to talk to her about her attitude and look at other corrective actions. She was so dismissive during a time that my dog is literally getting a surgery and being put under. If the cost of ER surgery alone has you contemplating euthanasia, ask your ER vet about low cost surgical centers in your area before you put your pet down. ER hospital in Fairfax, VA wanted $5,000 - $7,000 for surgery to remove bladder stones in my cat with observation post-op - Anicira (non-profit) did it for $1,600. The Dr. and surgical nurse at Anicira were amazing. We called first thing and they took our cat that morning. The incision site never had any bruising, redness, swelling or discharge - it looked like a healed scar (internal stitches) after 24 hours. The staff has been attentive and available by phone or email. They encourage sending in photos and its been very effective in evaluating my cat's status. All clinical and surgical notes were emailed to me and my regular vet within 24 hours. We had our puppy neutered at Anicira today. Arrival and intake of our puppy was smooth, fast and professional. Staff were all very attentive and checking in was done in a matter of 2 minutes or less. And still I did not feel rushed. While I love animals, the lobby area had no animals when we arrived. Staff checks pets in so quickly and takes them back to the rooms, it made the lobby a welcoming and not chaotic. Ours was the only animal in that area when we arrived. Some vet clinics have lots of people and pets waiting in full waiting areas which can be stressful for animals. Not that case at Anicira today! Plus the fees are far more reasonable than anything else we could find. Our puppy is relaxing at home and we have clear instructions for post op care with medicine for pain and keeping our puppy calm while he heals. read more
