Unprofessional Install & Zero Follow-Through - Multiple System Failures We paid a premium for a "professional" installation, but the experience has been a disaster from start to finish. Despite multiple attempts to resolve these issues, the system is currently failing. The Major Issues: * Improper Drainage: The drain line was not buried deep enough. When I pointed this out, I was told the ground was "too hard" to dig correctly. Because the pipe was barely covered, it was punctured during routine yard aeration. It is now clogged and completely non-functional. * HVAC Damage: They promised to use dust-containment tarps and fans but failed to do so. This resulted in a clogged HVAC unit that had to be replaced shortly after their "cleaning" attempt. * Poor Workmanship: I had to call them back to glue the sump pit plumbing together--a basic step that was skipped during the initial install. The Service Gap: Last summer, a supervisor promised to personally fix the drainage issues. Since then, my texts and calls have gone unreturned. I have now completed two yearly inspections, and despite being told each time that "upper management" would be notified, I have heard nothing. I am not looking for a refund or to fix this myself. I paid for a professional system, and I am simply waiting for this company to honor their word.

I would tell you to RUN away from Ohio Basement authority. I had them install simple downspouts to run the water away from the house. One week later I went to the yard and saw the pipes above ground. The glue was visible on the pipes. The pipes were not connected. The glue never set. Water was coming out of the drains and washed the dirt away exposing the glue. I called OBA and they sent out a man to inspect and he picked up dirt and Literally packed it in pipes and said it would be ok. Water started pooling in my yard. NO water made it to the end of the yard. I had downspouts put in another house in Pataskala 25 years ago with no problem. I did not know you could screw up down spout pipes. God help you if it is a complicated basement repair. The said I had a lifetime guarantee now they are saying it was a year guarantee.

Wow I would have never thought I would be here. More than 10,000 dollars into a job and still no promises delivered. Sure they said what they did was "guaranteed" but they also said they would fill the cracks so I must surmise that the guarantee is not worth the paper it is on. It has been 10 days since my initial review. Had three missed "I'll be there". Granted one was followed up by a pity call six hours later. I had also reached out to the person who quoted me the job. He had a lunch with the new GM ( who also promised me a complete job) and didn't even call me after his lunch. I'm left with an incomplete job, an extra month of rental, and still cracks in my garage wall. Sure I have their lifetime warranty but really!?! The choice is yours.

I wish I could get some consistency with my work, especially when concerns arise after it's a sealed deal sale...My questions and concerns were not generally answered or I was passed to the next person to find answers, for what I was asking regarding my work, quality, and ongoing care after the job was completed. After almost $15k in work, I'd hoped it would have been a better experience. Recently had a sump fail, only 6 months after install and waterproofing. Caused backflow flooding outside, and then near burned up the battery back up too...without any warning before it was almost too late inside my home... only to find it was not hooked up right!! These issues led to another that caused problems with my homes already established radon system too... again, back and forth it seemed without secure response. Paid for an emergency call to another company to have to come save the day... and he did.... Unfortunately, was not OBA who helped... which is honestly disheartening again after what you pay. But again, I would love to say we had a great experience but it was just a fraction of what it was worth, you get what you pay for they say... not sure we did. Some of the people I have spoke with have been helpful, others, not so much. Hopefully they can get things figured out and gain consistency and support for customers when there are issues and concerns. I'm 6 months post work and just more in the hole from issues that we shouldn't have had to begin with... maybe consider another company before redirecting to this one.

$10,000+ spent and I was guaranteed a dry basement... I noticed wetness around the OBA installed gutter system and I called April 1st, left a VM. No call back so I called April 2nd and was told they couldn't come out until April 7th (today). Today, Mr. Brady came out and told us that it was nothing they did wrong and was very crude. I am extremely disappointed. I went with OBA because I felt like this was a large and reputable company that would stand behind their word and guarantee. If there was anything else that needed repaired, that should have been addressed in the initial consult before the job started. Today, my family has lost $10,000 to OBA... there has been no sense of urgency to helping us when their work has failed and as of today has made it clear they will NOT keep their promise and guarantee.

Ohio Basement Authority is the go-to company if you want excellent plumbing services at a competitive price. I needed to get a new sump after maintaining the old one for over 20 years, and it was time. I was able to get scheduled with Ohio Basement Authority at a convenient time for me and Kyle Lockard came out and did an outstanding job installing the new sump pump. He cleaned out a significant amount of grime that had clearly been left behind in previous years. Unlike other companies that just checked if the sump pump was working and called it maintenance without addressing the debris, Ohio Basement Authority went above and beyond as evidenced by the photos. I'm incredibly grateful for the professional and thorough service they provided in replacing my sump pump the right way!!!

Did a great job installing our radon mitigation system. We have had no problems with it to date.

I'm an engineer by trade and cant help apply those skills to every project I start…read more I thoroughly appreciated working with Tyler through every step. He was articulate explaining the displacement, likely root causes, prevention and mitigation steps, repair options, and the pros/cons of each approach. During the walkthrough he discussed the areas of concerns and created a visual diagram of the forces interacting on the basement walls, how its displacing the wall, and how it will be repaired. The quote contained all these areas with the total cost of repair + the project plan to resolve it. How many straps, their locations, mortar joints that will be replaced, and a 5 foot section of basement slab that needed removed to clear out the flush ports underneath and replace with new concrete. What I appreciated the most was Tyler's engineering approach. Root cause, resolution, and cost. He identified a couple areas not pointed out by other contractors that required addressing and his quote was still in line despite the additional work. And I never got the impression he tried to create work for a higher invoice. I 100% would hire Tyler and Basement Remedy if I ever purchase another house with basement issues again.

We also needed a precisely dug hole in which to bury a new LP gas storage tank. We found everything we needed at Basement Remedy! Tyler, Todd and their friendly crew, diagnosed our issues, discussed our options, gave us a free estimate; and when we hired them, they quickly delivered the results we needed at a price we could afford. They are great communicators with hands-on ownership. It was a wonderful experience! Five stars. Ask them to quote your job too, you won't be disappointed.

Unfortunately, I did not. I spoke on the phone with someone named Mike in April about a couple of different issues I had with my basement. He said they were too busy at the time to come out and look at it and that what they usually do is install a sump pump. I told him I wasn't sure that was what I needed without checking a couple other things first, but he said again they were too busy for anyone to come out, that I likely needed a sump pump system installed, and that it could run from a few to several thousand dollars. That's fine, I imagine they are swamped in the spring and I have an idea what those systems cost if, in fact, that's what I needed. No problem. Fast forward to August. I called back to see if someone could come out to look at my situation. Left a message with Nicole and I got a call back from Mike (maybe the same Mike, maybe not...I believe he said "Stearns") and we set an appointment for a few days later. Well, he never showed up, never called, nothing. Rogers may be the absolute best in town, but I'll never know it. I feel like I was blown off twice. I'm sure if they see this they'll be very apologetic on here and tell everyone that's not how they do business, but it was exactly how they did it with me. Maybe you'll be luckier and get the owner.

This was our first sump pump, so they had to do everything, not just the pump(put the ditch around the basement, lay inside drain line, cover it back up, dig ditch to street, lay the drain from the basement out to the street, cover it up). They were very considerate of our house, covering the floor path to the work area and placing plastic over the doorways from the section of the basement they were working in. The concrete work covering the ditch up after the inside drain was installed was very neat. Great job! Highly recommended!

If you are looking for a company that shows up when they say they will, quotes you a price ahead of…read moretime and sticks to it, does the work efficiently and effectively, and is personable to boot - HIRE THIS COMPANY! I rarely give five star reviews because I rarely have good experiences with service workers - let alone great experiences. However, JB Foundations earned all 5 stars. And honestly, it's not that hard - just very few companies will do the basic things that make customers happy. It started recently with a couple days of hard rain. We live in an elevated area where our driveway slopes up and our house and foundation is higher than the street. As a result, we have never had any issues with water in the basement and rarely give it a thought. The only problem we had was the pipe leading up and out of the basement had a loose connection and I was able to tightened it up. But with this most recent rain, the sump pump started acting differently. It was still seemingly working but making an incredible noise. I had just had new flooring put in on the first floor (I'll be writing that review next) and noise carries much more within the house. At first I chalked the louder sump pump up to that. But the more I had to listen to it while working from home, I realized something was wrong. The second day, I started putting feelers out. Messaging 3 companies on their websites asking if they did this work on sump pumps and in our area. NONE RESPONDED. I hate using the phone so electronic communication is my preference. THe next morning, the pump was quieter but ran non-stop for hours - despite there not being hardly any water in the tank and it also had not really rained for a while. This time I turned to Yelp (which is where I got the names and reviews of the 3 companies I reached out to via their websites). I picked one and sent a message just like I did before. I also took the option to ask a couple more companies to respond. Almost immediately, JB Foundations responded and expressed ability and interest in doing the work. We exchanged messages via Yelp and soon I had an appointment, as well as an estimate should the pump need replacing. The appointment window was only 2 hours and they were able to come the next day. Considering we had yet to take any water in the basement, I was feeling very lucky (which is rare). Jay showed up during the 2 hour window and went to work. He showed me how the pump can be tested by bypassing the floater. The pump was still working and apparently able to push water to the street. Regardless, given the 26 years it had been working - I opted to have it replaced. Jay had a new pump with him and installed it in maybe 15 minutes. He asked for a garbage bag to carry the old pump out in as it was crusted in rust and mud. He had also pulled out a few other misc. items (paper, soda can, rocks) from the hole and transported it all way without messing up the floor. Jay educated me about the back-flow valve/connector - which was apparently what had come apart before. He had replaced it at no extra charge. I always appreciate a service person taking the time to explain things to me so I better understand how the things in our house work. Jay did so without making me feel spoken down to or stupid. I don't know what else I can share if you're not convinced yet to include this company in your search when needing any work done in your basement/foundation. I highly recommend giving them a shot.

He explained well how the process would unfold and was proactive about being open to any questions. They arrived the originally scheduled day and although there was a delay due to some pretty extreme weather causing traffic idiocy, I was notified about that delay. They worked hard until the job was complete. Every indication so far is that the job - a crawlspace drainage/sump - was successful, considering there has been another very hard rain since and no more basement leakage.
