However, my kids wanted to go and my 8-year old was able to get his own library card of which he was excited to get. Off we go, me and my three boys, we walk to the library. Yes, it is very, very close to my house. Once inside, I can tell a lot has changed for the better since my last visit many years ago. They have many computers to use for locating books or perusing the Internet. They have a fantastic kids room where they can read their reading level books, build puzzles, color, etc. They have several kid sized tables, chairs and bean bags for them to sit and enjoy whatever activity they are doing. Very neat and fun for the kids. I enjoyed watching my oldest son as he insisted in finding the books he wanted by himself. When he had trouble, he asked the assistants at the circulation desk instead of me because-he wanted to do it all by himself. So proud of my little guy. While he perused for books, my two younger boys played with puzzles and colored in the various coloring books. They each chose a book as well to bring home to read. This library is a great place to spend some time and great for the kids to have and keep an interest in reading. They also may kids reading programs throughout the year and having Story Time for the little ones once a week. We had a great time. An hour and half and 8-books checked out later, we were on our way home. It was a lot of fun.

Today I called to do that and was greeted by a man (it's usually a woman) and he told me that he couldn't do that. It specifically states on USPS website that this is totally allowed. He stated something about a check when I was just wanted my mail held to pickup there. I don't pay my taxes for him to not do his job. He is making this post office look bad, and is unnecessarily holding me up because of some "check" that's on his mind.
