Who really rated this place two stars? This has to be top four pizza places in Cleveland area easily. I appreciate that they don't try to be anything other than their own original of pizza, not New York, Chicago or Detroit style. Had the paradise and the basic b. Both were fantastic. Ordered extra sides of sauce for dipping because we are a sauce family. The cookies were a pleasant surprise when I went to pick up. I can't wait to go back and try the other pies! Keep in mind this place is new and very popular so you will have to wait and keep calling to get through. Hard work and perseverance pays off though! People were raving about this place on local page. I read on the business fb page how they sold out so quickly. As a food enthusiast, I was curious and gave it a try tonight. I called around 5pm to place an order and was given a 45 minutes wait. My first disappointment is that they only have one crust option, no thin crust!! :( Ohio Pie is located in the same plaza as WF, on the strip near Penn's Station. From the aroma, the pies smell just like the ones from Pizza Hut (sorry!). Upon opened up the boxes, I noticed how greasy they are (again remind me of PH). Here is the kicker. The pizza sauce on the cheese pizza was extremely, crazy sweet! My kids are pizza fans, but they couldn't even finish their first slice. I also tried a slice of cheese pizza and found it was indeed too sweet. Did I mention the dough was really chewy??! The crust was more chewy. The Basic B was alright but a bit bland. It was missing something acidic (maybe glazed balsamic sauce) to balance it out. The cookies are soft, but overly sweet. They are too greasy. At the price of 2 cookies for $5, guess I can save the money and calories. Overall, it's just not as good as everyone has made it out to be. I don't get the hype! I go to Whole Foods all the time but never got around to Ohio Pie Co until now. All I have to say is I wish I could've been here SOONER!! Sauce is delicious with a hint of sweetness, crust was perfect! Also they didn't disappoint with the chicken topping!! Please keep up the great work! read more

Amazing pizza. It's worth the drive for us and love the fast service. The speciality pies are so creative as well. Our favorite specialty pie so far was the sausage and peppers. After reading reviews I thought I'd give it a try. Too bad my car wasn't low on oil, I could have wrung out the pizza and box. I have never had a pizza soaking wet from grease. Several people mentioned that their pizza is greasy, but it was disgustingly wet. From the little bit I had, I could tell it had good flavor, so I know they have potential. If they could only figure out how to reduce the amount of grease I'd be back. For now, I'll pass. It's unfortunate because I'd rather support smaller businesses but I threw most of it away. I give the Ohio Pie Co Rocky River five slices! I didn't want to love "The Basic B", but I do. The Fiestada might be a secret menu item, but this pizza is also a hit. By far, this was the best vegan pizza I've had -- I ordered the "Earth Crisis" and my husband ordered "The Kennedy." Both were delicious, but the Earth Crisis was my favorite (The Kennedy has a slight "kick" to it, for those who are sensitive to spicy food). There are chairs inside where you can sit while you wait fit your pie to be made, and Whole Foods is conveniently in the same plaza. The staff were also very friendly. My favorite local Cleveland pizza that I've discovered so far! Delicious! Two tips for the best experience: (1) Get at least one sauce cup, preferably two for a large (the first is free). Their sauce is delicious, but I've never got a pizza from there with sauce evenly applied. Some pieces are just right, others are completely dry. (2) Put it on the floor of your car riding home, not the seat. Serious grease leakage out the bottom. Now you're good to enjoy their awesome pizza! read more

Definitely the best pizza in the Cleveland area. Called on a Friday night around 5:30 pm - was about a 45 min wait but well worth it. Got 2 pizzas - a veggie and a pineapple + peppadew peppers. I loved the pineapple pizza. Easily 10/10. The veggie was about an 8/10. We also got party bread, which is not your average cheesy bread. Do yourself a favor and get some cookies with your order. When this business first opened I thought it was OK, but after eating there enough it's not for me. The sauce is too sweet and there's no other sauces to choose from other than a white sauce I believe. Speaking of the sauce they put it on top of the cheese which is fine, but it seems like the cheese just gets mixed in with their dough and you don't taste it. I've asked if they can make a traditional pizza with the sauce on the bottom cheese on top and cut it into triangles they would not. That's another issue I have I like square pizza, but they won't cut it any other way for you. The one great thing about this place is the cookies. I cannot complain about those cookies they are delicious and the staff very friendly. My score is solely based on the pizza. read more

The best pizza I've ever eaten. Excellent vegan options, they even go out of their way to make their specialty pizzas vegan friendly. This place has pretty okay pizza, I'll give them that but wow I can't with the workers here. First, we called the store to order a pizza. We haven't been here except for 1 other time so we didn't know about their pizzas very much. We asked the girl what the most popular specialty pizzas were. She listed off like 2. Then proceeded to tell us that we'd have to look at their menu because she doesn't know what else they have. She was extremely unhelpful and even disrespectful for the one not knowing their own food and acted like she didn't know anything about their pizzas. She acted as if we wasting her time. Then we called a different time weeks later to order pizza again. This time we had simply asked what her favorite pizza was there. She listed off a vegan sausage pizza? After discussing for literally 20 seconds to see if we were down for a vegan pizza, she told us we needed to get off the phone if we didn't know what we wanted and that she had customers waiting. She told us to call back when we were done figuring it out and then hung up before we even got the word "bye" out. This is funny because we pull up outside the restaurant and call back just to have a different girl answer while the other one takes an in-store order. Why couldn't they have done that before instead of basically telling us we're wasting their time and to get off the phone. All I have to say is, get better workers. read more

Not sure I understand the high ratings. I tried it for the second time just to make sure but it disappointed again. I will say their ingredients are good quality but they need to learn how to cook their pizza and that's not easy. It's a bit to greasy for me and way too chewey and the crust is below average. It's not a fun pizza (especially the middle pieces) to eat as it is messy. If they went with a thinner crust and cooked at higher temps and made it a bit crispier they would have a winner. Sauce I found was very sweet which was good at first but then became a bit much. the pizzas were very greasy and undercooked as they were very doughy in the middle Thought it was good but not great. This pizza is absolutely amazing. I live near so Collinwood and choose to come to rocky river for great tasting pizza. My daughter and I bought 4 pizzas. 1 large and 3 smalls (one was for granny). The Heartburner and the Buffalo Chicken are both great choices if you are having a small gathering. They are the perfect amount of cheese and toppings. The Heartburner has a good ratio of meat to cheese. The BC has a kick, which is true to what a Buffalo chicken should be. For sure pick up one of the cookies at the register.
