This has always been my favorite thrift store. It's very clean and they were one of the first to start organizing clothes by size instead of color. Prices can be hit or miss, but of course they do have the 25%, 50%, 75% off sales every day. Today I got seven sweaters and an outfit for my granddaughter for $32. There have been times there's a little bit of wait at the register, but today was very quick and the cashier was friendly. read more

Warning: do not buy electronic here. They will not accept returns or do exchanges on their use crap, even if they do not work. I made this mistake. I bought a microwave when a spat of post-holiday cheapness overtook me. "It is just a microwave, why pay for a new one?" I thought. So I bought a clean and unworn one and thought myself clever. Never again. It didn't work for a second. I saw the "All Sale Final" signs," but I assumed they would take it back, you know, keep a customer happy, not wanting to taint their reputation with selling malfunctioning items. They are an outstanding local corporation after all. Right? Wrong! They refused to take it back or do an exchange. When I inquired about the reason why they would sell me a lemon the clerk made it seem like it was my entire fault, a no-no in retail. Even though when I made my purchase the cashier test the item nor give me any hint of the strictness of their rules I was made to feel I was in the wrong. Buyer beware is not a trope you expect in corporate retail. If this was a mom-and-pop I'd be more understanding, I know most of them have strict return policies, but you expect more from bigger brands. I still recommend hunting for great clothing here; you can find some decent brands in their racks sometimes. (Make sure you wash them a couple-ten times.) But for anything else--No! As for the microwave it went into their sidewalk trash. Act like a garage sale be treated like one. read more

I dropped by here while on my way to Sunrise to pick up some groceries. I was really surprised at the amount of new items that were for sale. There is a large section of new but discounted furniture up front. As Teri D. noted, there are "better" sections on each of the clothing racks, and clothes are sorted by size, which is great for me! In housewares, there were a lot of new, boxed items, including dishes, laundry soap, paper goods, cleaning supplies, lotions, beauty supplies. It was really more like a Big Lots than a thrift store. There are two fitting rooms in the back near the restrooms. I didn't have much time to browse, but I will definitely be coming back when I have some more time. There are three (edit: four) different sale colors, all the way up to 75% off. Update: They've moved stuff around a bit. There is a large section of books now near the front, but the prices range from $3-6 (even for paperbacks). I can get books for cheaper and in better condition at HPB. Update 2: Book prices are starting to get cheaper; I'm now finding some paperbacks as low as 99c, which is great when they're also the 75% off color tag! Never even noticed this until I had come out of a nearby store and decided to go in on a whim. Am I ever glad I did too!!!! Very nicely laid out store with a section in the very front of new furniture. Racks and displays are set up well with signs telling you what sizes and what they consider "better" items. Big signs on the walls explaining the color coding of the price tags, as in this color means an extra percent off the listed price. I have never seen so many leather coats and jackets in a thrift store in my life but when I went to the ladies blazers/jackets I found IT!!! For $7.00 I found an Escada wool jacket. I giggled all the way up to the register. Such a find!!!! I am so going back here periodically to see what other hidden gems I may find. Oh wait! I should warn, I'm not the biggest fan of thrift stores. I find them overwhelming. But this one is not too bad to peruse through. There are a ton of items including furniture; nice looking furniture at that. We donated some items recently and the process was quite easy and the staff was really pleasant (I don't think I've ever seen such nice employees at a thrift store). I love thrifting. When a friend told me about this location and that they had lots of appliances, I checked it out on a Saturday morning. They do have lots of appliances, some up front and most in the back. I found a Food Network food processor still in the box for $40. I also found a little hot plate for a coffee mug for $2. Unfortunately, I didn't find anything else. I thought the clothing was overpriced. When I got home I found there was only a mug in the box, no warmer. Ugh! I've used the food processor several times and always struggle with the lid. Now I know why someone donated it. I'll still frequent other Ohio Thrift stores, but I'm not crazy about this one. read more

I can't believe all the 3 star and below reviews. You're rating a thrift store and as far as thrift stores go this one is by far the best I've ever been to anywhere. It's clean, organized and I always find phenomenal deals. They sell furniture, household items and appliances that are actually pretty nice. Now I haven't been there in a while so this review is based on previous visits. I'm going again today and I'll update if needed but I've gone there since it's opened and it's been pretty consistent. Great thrift store! I was in town visiting family and decided to stop in to kill some time and hopefully find a business jacket. Boy did I hit the jackpot! 12 jackets later my pockets book wasn't too light and I was a happy camper. It may be that I just had great timing but I was shocked at how large and the quality of their selection was. It's still a thrift store so you have to sort through the innovatory but I'm excited to go back again. read more

This is a pretty good thrift store. The selection is huge and they quality of the items seems better than most - a lot of items still have the original price tags, and the prices can't be beat! The only thing keeping this from being a 4 star review is the way they're organized...All of the clothing is organized by type (pants, shirts, jackets...etc) and then by quality (good, better) and then by color. Nothing is organized by SIZE! They've got about 80 gazillion pairs of "women's better black pants." Honestly, I stopped looking after I got a few pairs in because it would have taken me all day to find anything. So that being said, don't come here if you're on a time-crunch. If you have a leisurely few hours to kill looking for something non-specific, this is the place for you. read more

I really like this place. Why? Because they are a thrift store that organizes their clothes by SIZE! What a novel idea, right. Nobody goes shopping with the thought in their head, "I really want to buy a green shirt today, don't really care what size, but it has to be green." This is now amongst our top three ( 3 ) thrift stores in Central Ohio, along with Volunteers of America ( across Henderson Road ) and the Volunteers of America on Indianola Avenue in Clintonville. Most of their stock comes from buys-outs and closeouts, so a high percentage of their items ( particularly clothing ) are new, with known, well-made brands. The store is bright and clean, although the 'impulse purchase' area immediately around their registers has become somewhat cluttered during the past two ( 2 ) years. They have nice changing rooms, clean restrooms and several aisles of cookware and kitchen items. read more

There are more than a few "thrift" stores on this side of town. Most of them are exactly like every other thrift store... Then there is Ohio Thrift. I have been in their store a few times (usually showing a friend how wonderful it is) and I have never been disappointed. But I am aware that it is a thrift store, so I have to pay close attention to detail (open boxes to check contents) like you have to do at EVERY thrift store. I was in the store today to help my boyfriend find a "business casual" shirt and not only did we find a really nice and well priced shirt, we also found pants that we couldn't pass up. Oh, and I am head-over-heels in love with the sofa and love seat in the front of the store and I am currently planning on buying it this week! AWESOME! read more

I went in today and bought a few items. However, I put a lot of items back. They have DOUBLED their prices since last month. They have no name Capris for $7 and no name dresses for $10-12. You can find cheaper deals at TJ Maxx, which is right beside them. I spoke to the cashier who verified they were raising prices. One of the employees was saying how items were not moving.....I wanted to say " yes, I keep putting items back because they are WAY over priced!" I have been in this store 3 times. Some of the items are priced ridiculously. (I.E. they have a Barbie Jeep priced at $200)! Funny, how a retail store failed to sell it for probably $50 and now the thrift store who receives it free of charge is pricing it at 4 times the original cost! But this isnt the reason for my review. While most of the employees are decent here and the lady that waited on me was certainly pleasant enough. (side note: their pricing is high enough that several of items are still there during these 3 visits since the store opened) The problem I encountered on my last visit was with the 2 males in the store. One a very young man who was speaking with a manager near the show case. He turned me away to begin with and told me to go into the woman's line. Since they were standing there talking and doing nothing, we asked them to pass over an item from the showcase so that I could view it, rather than her having to leave the register and go get it. They did not have to move in order to do this, so it wasnt strenuous. The young guy with lighter brown hair holds the item straight up (it was a boxed set with a book about crystals) and states the price, which no one asked him for. The cashier said, please hand me the item, and I said, "I want to see what is included in the box", and that is when he sarcastically answered, "crystals" (like isnt it obvious what is in it) with a smart alec attitude! The middle aged white man said nothing about his response. He appeared to be a manger as he was wearing a dress shirt. He had brown hair but darker than the young guy. So then I proceeded to the window area to wait on my spouse. I decided to walk back to the cashier as I had forgotten something. This is when I overheard the employees talking about me!!! The lady said, "she wasnt bad". I am polite person who just spent $60 on junk. I am thinking what is my crime? Why is this young man have this job here when he obviously dislikes it and people in genreral when other people could work here and maintain a civil attitude and be grateful. (it made me think about the recent Subway incident in the NW) The young boy was complaining about the customers to the manager! Isnt that a nice way to run a community type business! We, the customers are who pays their salary. I went to the car, waited on my spouse and then told him, he told me to just let it go, but I wish I would have said something immediately but I was too taken off guard. I want to let others know so if they have complaints as well, this can be addressed. Obviously, I can not tell the manager as he was in on it encouraging this type of behavior.
