love love love uptown! Easy selling experience and awesome clothing selection! I spoke with the managers, and they were so kind!

On a earlier weekday before 1pm, I was able to sneak in and drop my new and gently used clothes on my lunch break. They make the seller experience pretty easy, mostly everything being done on your own by application on a tablet. ID will also be needed to drop off clothes. I took me maybe 8 mins to fill out the form and finish the drop off. This process only took 30 mins before getting the text notification saying they were done with my tote. When I came back after work, I was happy with the purchase and took store credit to come back and shop later! Although, a smaller shopping area for the men but plenty accessories and clothes for the gals. They have plenty of dressing rooms where someone is ALWAYS attentive. I only suggest a better color stamp system, a lot of the times the colors get mistaken. The green and blue tags look very similar IMO. But overall good experience! read more

The majority of my wardrobe is consignment/second hand, so I have spent many hours in all of the Columbus shops. Unfortunately, this location would get my lowest review of any solely based on customer experience. I am super laid back when I shop and don't really care if staff say hi to me or try to talk to me. I don't care about waits or any of that. But, I have been to this location 4 times, and I've only had a good experience 1 of those 4 times. I'm unsure if there is a mother-daughter duo or if they just often work together, but I am one of the most smiley, cheerful people, and every time I come in with a basket of clothes, I get an unwelcoming scowl from 2 of their staff. Everyone else is very friendly, and the one time the duo wasn't there, I had a wonderful experience. SIMILAR PLACES I RECOMMEND SELLING/BUYING IN COLUMBUS: * One More Time * Second Chances * Clothes Mentor * Platos Closet * Uptown in Hilliard ^^ I hate to give negative reviews, but personally, I would go to all of the above places before this place. BUYING: * One of the more expensive consignment/secondhand stores in Columbus. The reason I gave them 3 stars instead of 1or 2 is because they do have quality brands such as Free People, Madewell, Lululemon, Athleta, etc. (but so do all of the others I mentioned). SELLING: * The same as other Uptown Cheapskate stores. Personally, I would rather sell my items to any other store than this one. By far one of the most frustrating second hand stores i've ever been to. Everytime I try to sell, they are never accepting new items (despite the fact I call in advance to confirm before driving all the way out there). This most recent time they said were accepting, brought my clothes in a bag (brand new high end brands) and they wouldn't accept because they weren't folded. no where on the website does it say to have clothes folded or in a bin so there was no way i could've prepared accordingly. i've never had issues like this at the hilliard location. i will no longer being doing business with this location read more

The manager is extremely rude and unprofessional. They are unfair at the buy counter and do not make all conditions known at the time you hand over your clothes. Threw away the laundry basket that THEY REQUIRE you to bring instead of a bag, to avoid a loss like that. Poor selection for full figured women which is probably why I was treated poorly by the staff and they offered me $18 for over $100 of NWT plus over $300 of like new items. Save the energy and just donate to the women's shelter. read more

Uptown Cheapskate is a resell clothing store chain. It's similar to Plato's Closet but more upscale/nicer. They also sell new items and trendy cards, candles, and other gifts. I have never purchased anything there but they do have some cute stuff. I typically have pretty good luck selling here. I sell on Poshmark as a side hustle but this is a great alternative to selling lower priced items due to fees, and the time it takes to package and ship. I would not recommend selling higher priced items due to the percentage they take and the amount they sell for. I brought in a purse that they said they could sell for $150 and they offered $45. In those cases it is much more lucrative to sell myself online and the customer will also get a better deal. Having said that, they are quick to process items and I am easily in and out within an hour. I have found staff to be friendly and efficient and have never had a bad experience. They also offer to donate any clothes they don't take which is also nice and convenient. Definitely recommend if you are looking to get paid for simply cleaning out your closet! read more

I wouldn't take my clothing here. They took 10 items all with tags besides one thing which was never worn. Truly felt low balled especially with Brands from Fabletics, Gymshark, & boutiques. I also don't like that they don't place the items they're purchasing from you back on the counter to show you like other uptown cheapskates! read more

This is about shopping for men's items. Those shopping for women's items may have a different experience. For the not-cheap prices being charged, they could organize the tiny men's section better than a Goodwill-after-a-Hurricane. One gets the feeling their revenue isn't produced in the men's section. I was lucky to be at a sale where items could be 70% reduced. I found one item, total revenue for them, $4. The merchandise could be pretty good in quality, if insanely marked up in price, in some cases, higher than retail that I've seen for that item. The message is clear: People shopping for men's stuff, go away. It took a very long time to find the sole bargain. Then I went away. Wasn't worth the time. read more

I would give zero stars. I just walked out of the store in dublin. I met the owner and explained that every time I come in the employees are very rude. I am disabled and they treat me awful every single time. I work retail myself and I understand the holidays can be stressful. The "owner" interrogated me about it. She had no empathy whatsoever. I was very polite the entire time. She said every employee wears a name badge and I should know who they are. Considering they are all young girls they al look alike as I am middle aged. be a human. Have a little compassion for others. I am an epic clothes horse and I worked for a resale shop as a manager as well as owning my own resell company. I felt humiliated and ashamed and the whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth. I will never set foot in this location if you paid me. So, to the "owner" kiss a lot of money goodbye. Also very cheap, ugly, terrible clothing most of which are fit for a "street walker". High prices and unprofessional staff never again.​ As an aside literally nobody was wearing a name badge. I was in the ER last night and worked my shift and was pleasant to my customers even though I cannot see and can barely walk. $900 for knock off designer plastic shoes. Give me a break eye roll. To the "owner" there is an app that will tell you if the item is genuinely designer and they failed that test. So.......get with technology because it is not going anywhere. And kiss my epic clothing collection that I planned to sell there goodbye as well. The so called owner is a blonde who appears to be my age or older. Security cameras do not pick up on body language and muttered curse words. I have been in quite a lot since I moved and I have literally never seen you there. Your response proves my point. I'm inside the store as I write this and yet I feel like I'm back to freshman year in the middle of my worst bullying era these girls are upfront going through my bin outwardly laughing and showing each other my items like it's a bully festival. I think they forgot I was in the store but also at the same time I don't think they really care either way. They would've said it if I was right in front of them. Noticed this in the old Petco spot. Figured I would peek in. They are open, but currently (January 2020) only buying clothes to build up stock. They'll start selling around April. The place was full of clothes, though, and I looked around. Mostly women's stuff, with a small men's section up front. Sort of upscale thrift store items. I saw dress shirts in very good shape for $20, pants for $12 or so, belts for $6. Everything looking brand new, and I would have gotten a few things if I could have. Service was friendly. Nice location just off Sawmill. I'll have to let me wife know about it, and will come back when I need some new clothes (for me, seems to be every 10 years or so...) read more

Not worth bringing your clothes in. They are overstocked with overstock in the back too. We brought in roughly 60 articles of clothing both men's and women's and almost right away they notified that they couldn't didn't buy ANYTHING. Keep in mind there were summer button ups from luxe brands, Levi jeans, suits, top brand athletic wear (all of these in great condition. Writing this immediately after walking out the door. Their customer service is horrible every single time that I am there. I have had a different employee every time I purchase an item here and each time they're rude for no apparent reason. Even after I watched the employee smile and chat it up with the girl in front of me, the second I stepped up to the counter with my girlfriend the girls face dropped and her tone changed. The Up Town on Morse not only rips people off, but they starting with the female assitant manager are rude a disrespectful. Also, I understand that they buy used clothes, but when your offered $90, but take it to Platoes and get $170 that's insanely monetarily off. I tried to show the A. This reminded me of goodwill quality when it came to the men's selection. Couldn't believe they accept the clothes they have on the shelves and rejected my stuff that was current trends with new tags on. The trip was very disappointing and a waste of time. They accepted 3 items that were barely worn for only $10 The staff was unfriendly and very unenthusiastic. Will not go these stores again. This is my first review bc I don't like to leave negativity but as a business student in college this store was appalling. I expect it to go out of business within 5 years. read more

This store is in dire need of managerial support. The lack of training, or basic respect from any employee, is a serious concern. They do not adhere to their own selling parameters, and become argumentative when any questions are asked. Simply don't waste your time bringing in your clothes to this location. I dropped off 1 1/2 bins and was told it would be about an hour or so and that I would receive a txt when it's ready. So I went to go run my errands and it took me a little over two hours. So I obviously went back once I was done to wait for my text because I was told about an hour or so and I figured they were just finishing up. After I didn't get the text while sitting in the parking lot for 20 minutes I went in to check just in case if I accidentally put my number in wrong. When I walked in, I was told my bin was being worked on right then and there so I said perfect and I went back out and I waited for the text. Over an hour goes by and I still didn't get a text. And at that point, I had somewhere to be and I couldn't be back on time for the 7 o'clock pick up deadline. I went back in and told them that I was gonna have to take my things and just come back another day. And lo and behold my bin has been ready, and they just forgot to send me a txt. Once I got back home I noticed not only did they not take the three pairs of Hollister jeans that were brand new, or any of the other namebrand items I had. They took three cheap bodysuits that I got off of Temu. This was my first time selling my clothes to this store, and I will never be doing that again, waist of my time. read more

I came with a basket full of clothes around 4 o'clock. They said that I had to be back before 7, or everything they didn't buy would be donated. I had to wait until 6:30 for the text that my stuff was ready- so I had a 30 minute window to get there. They gave me 7 dollars for two items, and when they gave me my basket back there were a pair of shoes (not mine) that i didn't notice until the alarm went off as I went to leave . An employee came up to me and grabbed the shoes and said nothing- I told them the shoes weren't mine, finally he said "yeah. I didn't think so." in a condescending tone, the employee still at the counter then laughed. A really horrible experience and waste of time that made me feel like crap afterward. Super cute store! It's like a classier version of Plato's Closet. This store is very clean, well organized, and well decorated. The little touches like velvet hangers and fairy lights in the dressing room hallway make it feel like a boutique. I had higher expectations for this place. I personally didn't feel very welcome by the staff when coming in, especially when they recently opened and that was my first and only time within this store. And I am comparing my experience to other secondhand stores I have visited in the past. The main reason I came in there was to sell some of my gently used clothing. When I came in with cardboard boxes as they are easier to close and so that my items would get mixed up with another customers, they told me I had to bring back my clothes in laundry baskets and that, that is all they would accept. I found that very inconvenient to have only one option. Typically the carrying laundry baskets do not have any sort of cover so items could easily get mixed with someone else's. Lastly it is a hassle as then I would have to clean the laundry basket once I brought home so then I can start using it again for laundry in my house. Another inconvenience. I don't plan to buy a separate laundry basket just to bring clothes into this store to sell. With all these inconveniences the store is driving me away and other potential customers and I would rather take my business to another secondhand store instead. read more

Honestly I'm surprised this place has any bad reviews at all. The staff has always been welcoming and cheery, while yes the prices are a little more expensive than say Plato's, it's still cheaper than full price! theres some items more worn than others but you can still find a lot of things that look like they were never worn! Also a much better place to sell clothes, I've actually gotten money for a lot of items. whatever they don't take, they donate for you so it's a one stop shop!! read more

LOVE LOVE LOVE! So many great brands like forever 21, lululemon, zara, hollister, Abercrombie and Fitch, American Eagle and for such great prices! I got 3 things but if I would have been on a big shopping spree I definitely would have gotten more! So many options and styles to choose from, you can definitely find the article of clothing your looking for. The fitting rooms were open which was a big plus considering the ones at the mall weren't :( I love to be able to try on the clothes I am buying. First off, the prices are through the roof for second hand clothing. They resell Shein and Zaful clothing (notoriously cheap and poorly made, not to mention made by children) for more than they are originally sold on the website itself for brand new. Further, the owner of this location does not care at all about customers - only money. I went to sell clothing to the store and they refused to allow me to take it back after determining a price i wasn't okay with. I asked to speak to the owner and she told me i had signed a contract... which was simply not true. I explained to her that the price they gave me was less than half of what I could have gotten on my own, and she literally laughed and said there was nothing she could do. I have never received worse customer service in my life. Further, they threatened to call the POLICE on me when i asked for a receipt to prove the sale. This establishment is extremely unprofessional and not to mention physically dirty. read more

The items here are overpriced and you can often find them cheaper if you buy them new from the original brand. They sell Shein items for over $15 what more can i say. I cannot emphasize this enough: DO NOT SELL TO THIS STORE. They will place your items away from you and hand you a receipt to sign with no explanation of what each item costs. once you sign the receipt, they will take it from you immediately along with your clothes. The receipt was immediately taken from me and I was given no proof of purchase, even after asking. I asked if I could have my clothes back immediately after signing and they said that wasn't possible, while I stared at my clothes from over the counter. The owner of this store cares about money, not people. She spoke directly with me and was extremely unkind and did not care at all about my financial situation and me needing my items back. I was given $28 for my 11 most expensive items and told that i couldn't have them back because it was corporate policy. i would give 0 stars if i could. read more
