I've lived near the Northland Ohio Thrift for most of my life, donated TONS of stuff there to benefit the National Kidney Foundation. Staff has always been kind, the prices have been reasonable and the cleanliness, organization and selection of items have been to my liking. Over the last few years, the selection of used items has dwindled every time I visited with more and more discount/overstock/clearance items being added. On my visit today I'd estimate maybe 10% of the items were second-hand. If buying used is important to you, I recommend looking elsewhere. read more

On 3/1/25 about 620pm , A P.O.S. human found my kids purse that she accidentally left in a cart, turned in the purse to the store BUT STOLE THE $90 that was in it. People SUCK!!! This is my fave thrift store! There's always a great selection of items, from used clothing/shoes to new items from closeouts. Pricing is good. Always check the colors to see which tags get an extra percent off. They also have a rewards program, which is nice. read more

I'm more of a Weight-thrifter than a Weightlifter. Don't tell anyone. I buy all my muscles second hand from stores like this. I love Thrift Shops, and you can find so much great stuff and even some nice old music and stuff in them. This is no exception and it's absolutely massive. Some of the bad reviews are kind of judging them as if they were a retail outlet, but the fact that they are charity based and that everything is so cheap and used, means it's such a great recycling concept, and that it automatically has to get a better rating lens (I just made up a hipster term, anoint me people) than the corporate (and carpet, which is what my predictive text wanted to say) places - and I can't possibly give it less than 4 even though I can see why it's not most people's favorite Thrift Shop. This location popped up on my Yelp search, and was only two miles away from Village Discount Outlet. A solid thrift store. I like Ohio Thrifts the best because their clothing is arranged by type, then size, then color. Found a nice sweater - great soft and pliable material - and a nice tee shirt. As with all thrift stores, you're more likely to find good buys if you take the time to search through the racks one by one. I was confused with this stores labeling of their racks: You have to search for the neon orange paper sign designating what items where on racks, but several racks were not labeled. For example, it's obvious where sweatshirts stop and blouses begin; but where did tee shirts stop and athletic wear start... Still a solid stop, and I'll definitely put this OT of my rotations from now on, since it's so close the others I frequent. read more

So my saga/mission continues to fill out my yoga wardrobe, having not yet made it half way through my yoga teaching training. To explain, I have class all weekend (Fri-Sun) and also attend at least 3 classes during the week (Mon - Thurs). So this requires WAY more yoga outfits and than my initial 2 pair of yoga pants at the beginning of the summer. Fortunately, I found that thrift stores carry decent quality options at pricing WAY less than consignment stores (clothes mentor, style encore). I ALSO learned that Ohio Thrift has multiple stores AND half-off-everything days. BOO YAH! So I was near this store on my 2nd try at half off everything day. I had exhausted the Ohio Thrift nearest me and thought I'd give this one a try. The floor plan might be different, but the options and atmosphere is pretty much the same - find what you're looking for and DIG IN - remembering to cut the tag price in half. Things are so cheap - and I don't think there are fitting rooms - AND I always buy stuff, wash it and THEN try it on - that it's worth it to pick everything which MIGHT fit and buy it. Donate back what doesn't work and still end up ahead of the game. This time around I picked 5 pieces - rang up for a little over $10. So far 3 things have worked, 1 is iffy (a bit tighter than I'm comfortable with) and 1 which might be too big. So checking out was a TRIP. I got behind a well-dressed lady with an overflowing cart. She had already had a bunch of stuff rung up so I didn't think it would take too long. WRONG. I think this lady had bought a bunch of named-brand stuff what was included in the sale. Not sure if it were for family or resale online - but her bill came to $375!!!!!!! Yeah, that's how much stuff she had in her cart. The inventory at these places must turn over quickly. So I'll likely check back in several months - definitely trying another Ohio Thrift shop the next time I hear of the half off everything day. They do have a rewards club or something like that. I signed up online and now get email notices of their sales. I only hear from them when there are promotions, so it's nice they don't spam me like other stores do. Highly recommend you check them out for items that pre-owned will do the trick. Or maybe HALLOWEEN COSTUME TIME!? read more

This thrift store is huge. This was my first time at any Ohio Thrift location and I can see why they are still in business. If you have a few hours to spare ( I sadly did not), you could just browse and browse around the store. Some of the prices were a little steep for a thrift store, but I read some of the reviews and they said they have half price days. I'm not from Columbus so I don't know about their sales or deals, but some of the higher priced stuff would be a total steal for half price. As with most thrift stores anymore, they forget their purpose and their stock and are now charging more than clearance new clothes. It is getting ridiculous how steep the prices are. This store does have a wide selection, but you'll need to give yourself enough time to search through things and try on (yay for fitting rooms!) to avoid picking out something broken/dirty. BUT, I think they're are having an identity crisis and think they're Macy's. Pricing is really high for a thrift store. A vase I saw in Goodwill for 0.25 cents was $2.00 here. This is a giant store! They have a lot, A LOT, of items! They seem to aquire items from stores as well - like knock off perfumes, candles, air fresheners, etc. The staff is very nice, and effecient. Ohio Thrift Store is a great thrift store on Columbus' northeast side. Their clothing selection is huge. A few years ago, I would have swooned at their jacket selection. T-shirts, pants, button-ups -- those are all well-represented too. The prices were a little steep. I have tough time pay $7 for a non-vintage used shirt. Given the selection, though, I can let it slide. The book section has some hidden gems as well. I found a few old printings that would have cost three or four times as much in an antique store. They have an adjoining furniture-only store, so this is a great place to go thrifting. Enjoy! read more

I needed to get rid of some old clothes that I never wear anymore....so of course I Yelped one nearby. This came up and I hurried myself over with a bag of stylish duds to rid mysel of. I dropped off my donation and decided to go in. This place is HUGE! One of the largest thrift stores I've ever been in. I don't know what is with people giving it only 1-2, or even 3 stars. This is a THRIFT store people.....it's not a Saks!! I will say, however....some of their clothes were a bit more pricey than other thrift stores I've been to. I bought two pairs of khaki pants to wear to work. They were $8.99 each. If it were in a more "low end," typical thrift, they would've cost maybe $3.99 each. But oh well, still cheaper than what I would've bought them for new....plus they were still in really good condition! I'll definately to back to drop off more clothes (when needed) and check out what type of good finds I can get! read more

A good book or two for cheap, a pair of shoes that fit perfectly for $5, stuff like that. But in general, this store seems to me to be filled with a lot of junk items, more so than other thrift stores. The prices for clothing is not what you would expect for a thrift store. Not that they are bad, there just doesn't seem to be a standard way to price things. It's weird. Take a look through a random rack and see what I mean. Also, the clothing types don't seem to be really clearly marked or organized. Not that I'm expecting a mall-store-like level of organization, mind you. This used to be one of my favorite thrifts for clothes because of the selection and good prices. In recent years they have more new merch with tags (usually Kmart type quality) but the prices have steadily risen that you are almost paying the same as you would for the item new or on sale in a discount store. No dressing rooms. That's the short and long of it. There are some great items, the prices are cheaper than good will, and the quality better. Store is clean and well organized. .... But what is the point if you can't try things on? And no, pulling it on over your clothes and using one of the mirrors won't be of any use unless you are buying a jacket! A shirt won't show if it is too tight or permits nip pop, and shorts or pants.... How would you even start to try those on without stripping? Do you go in a skin tight body suit?! Maybe they accept returns. I didn't ask.... After all, I live thirty minutes away, so it would be a gas guzzling hassle. I guess if you need shoes or stuff it's ok, though prices on the shoes are such that you could shell out a few more bucks and get them new at the right store. Anyways, really a pity. I probably would have bought quite a bit if I could have used a fitting room. As it is, I am afraid I won't be wasting my time or the gas to drive back here again any time soon. read more

I almost hate to post a review because I feel like this place is my own hidden gem in my neighborhood. Yes, like previous reviews state, prices can be a tad high for a thrift store. But they stay well-stocked, and the stuff sells, so there is always different merchandise. I have found great clothes for a fraction of the price, clean and in great condition. And the second Wednesday of the month is 1/2 price day - you see people with heaping shopping carts. They also do regular pickups if you have things to donate, and it benefits Kidney Services. read more

This is my favorite thrift store in the Columbus area. I love the wide variety, large selection, organization, and cleanliness of the store. We come here frequently and have gotten many good deals here. My husband often finds clothes that still have tags on them. There is a much larger furniture section than I've seen at any of the other Ohio Thrift stores or Goodwill stores we have been to. I went back to exchange it for another item but was told to come back a different day because they don't do exchanges on sale day. Drove back to the store the next day and was told I couldn't exchange the item at all because it wasn't a clothing item, WHY wasn't I told that information the previous day?????? I cannot believe how overpriced this place is for THRIFT store. I needed some things for some costumes I was putting together. A women's coats were $20-$45! Belts were in the $9-$12 dollar range. You can get a new belt at Kohls or Target for that. You can get a NICE new belt at Marshalls for only a little more. I was really in shock. Kids stuff is a little more reasonable in price. The only reason I didn't give just one star is that it is pretty well lit, well kept and has a decent selection....but so does TJ MAxx and the prices are the same! I shop at other thrift stores and was completely shocked at these prices. Don't people DONATE this stuff to them?
