I can't believe how low the reviews are. I LOVED this store! Just went in for the first time this week and was overwhelmed at the volume of clothing available (especially women's clothing). Yes - the prices are not cheap across the board. Deals can be found, but overall it runs a bit higher than VoA or GW. I'm still not complaining because the store is clean, organized, and you have so many options! Staff is friendly and efficient. I scored two sweaters - one brand new, upscale brand with tags for $12 and one for $4 (it was a 50% tag). Couldn't be happier! Even at "50% off," the prices were unbelievable -- the kind of unbelievable that makes you stop in your tracks and wonder who exactly they think is shopping here. * Clothing selection is huge, but if you're short, good luck. The top racks are basically decoration. * Pricing signs are confusing and borderline misleading. The front sign says one color is 50% off only if it's $15 or under, but the rest of the store doesn't mention that at all. * Shoes and housewares were a mess -- like no one had touched the area all day. * Customer service was rough. Three employees up front, and somehow not one of them seemed friendly. my cashier acted like ringing me up was an inconvenience, and any attempt at conversation was shut down instantly. If you're a reseller, don't bother -- you'll lose money. If you're looking for good prices, don't bother -- you won't find them. I'm amazed that people find good deals here. First of all, all you can see are aisles and aisles of racks of clothes. The racks were solidly packed so as to completely put me off from looking, but yet there were plenty of buyers happily putting clothes into their carts. I was on a mission for household goods which were at the back of the store. The prices put me into a shock. Glass vases usually $2 at garage sales were $8. A set of tea cups and saucers with small plates was a whopping $50! I'm sorry to say but this isn't the right store for me. I won't be back. read more

I've gone twice now to this new location, for Thursday Senior Day. They give 55+ an extra 25% off the total bill. Great deal. There are perks to getting older. I have gotten so many things in housewares, and books, along with a few clothing items. They have a LOT of stuff. The clothes are by color, not size, so it can be exhausting looking at clothing. never ever come here if you're expecting good customer service. They are terrible to their customers and only care about making the most amount of money as possible on clothing. They closed the dressing room rooms the day before Easter not allowing anybody to try on clothing and they do not allow returns. When asking the manager why he refused to answer me and told me just cause and that they would not allow any returns on clothing that do not fit after today. That is absolutely absurd. You should be able to try on any product. You're going to purchase before leaving the store and if not be able to return that product if it's not satisfactory. He was extremely rude and so is the cashier. She refused to even get the manager to come upfront. She wanted me to walk all the way to the back of the store. Surprised the reviews are so low. They have a VERY large selection or merchandise & helped clothe my child when she was younger. There is also a good selection of higher end, brand name merchandise. The prices on average, are not necessarily the best, but when you have the special tags of the day (two colors), you can find some good deals. On a mission to get some things at Marc's and look what I found a new business next door. They had me at Discount..Lol..When you first walk in you are greeted with a sign that tells you all the deals for the day. This place is very clean with wide isles and everything is well organized. Lots of items to choose from also. I was surprised by all the name brand items that were displayed and in great condition some were way more than I would pay but, some were priced just right and some with an additional 50% off. Now we're talking! I would like to go back and take a little more time to look wasn't planning on serious thrifting this morning. read more

I have a love/unlove relationship with this thrift store. I LOVE that they have a very sizable plus/queen size section, and they seem to keep a good rotation. It is color coded, and maybe even by size (things are often out of place, but not sure if this is due to patrons). The better part, the clothes are often up to date, and not frumpy - I am sure other queens can appreciate this. Now to the unlove --- I have found many things to be over priced -- this seems to be a trend with thrift stores over the past few years. But the whole reason for thrifting is to have affordable clothing, and often prevent the negatives of fast fashion. Sometimes the prices are comparable to TJ Maxx/Marshall's - so, why not go there to get something new? I will continue to shop here, especially when they are having great sales, but it may not be my first choice when looking for great deals. read more

It's clean, has a ton of stuff, but the prices are outrageous. Like $5 to $8 for used winter hats. $60 for a used coat. It's a resale shop but definitely not a thrift store. Be prepared to spend more money than you think. Also about half of their stuff isn't shorts by size. Want leggings? You have to look through them all to try and find ones in your size. Saw a pair I liked, a brand kohls sells, but they were priced at $25. For used leggings. I put them back. Want a coat? Same deal. Takes a long time to shop here. Jeans are luckily sorted by size so I will look at those when I go. But most I looked at were over $12 to $15 for not even big name brands. They have fitting rooms but they're never open so you can't try stuff on. People stand in the aisles and try stuff on over their clothes. If you are in the area, pop in, but definitely do not make a special trip or travel a long way to go. read more

You can find gems here if you don't mind digging around for a bit! Village discount had a Presidents Day sale where everything that was pre-owned and under $60 was 50% off. I happened to walk by to go to Marc's, so I stopped in. The store is separated by men's, women's, kids, and non-clothing items. They do not have fitting rooms, but they have a few mirrors, so many people were throwing things on top of their clothes to "try on" in front of the mirrors & putting items they didn't want onto nearby racks. I found a few lacoste shirts for $15 ($7.50 after the discount) and a few photo frames. read more

I like it here. This store always has a good selection of items and good sales. I almost always find really good name brand items (Lululemon, Zara, Adidas, etc). Some reviews have said the customer service is bad - but what kind of customer service are you looking for in a thrift store? This place needs a name change. 'Village Dis-belief Outlet'. Picked up 2 items, a tin snowman, and a pretty wooden tray, gold with a Christmas tree. Both had the price $3/6 written in black sharpie, on the front. I tried hand sanitizer, no luck, another lady tried spit, no luck. Stock woman said 'cheap perfume will take it off'. WAY OVER PRICED!! Let's be honest, thrift stores are mainly for underserved communities who need help. You can find cheaper clothes at Walmart ,target and Amazon. Their workers barely make minimum wage, and less than one cent of every dollar goes to veterans. This is all about the money and expensive it is. Do they have a good selection? Yes... But it's more along the lines of Plato's closet ,than it is a thrift store. Therefore they should not be considered a thrift. They have things in there that cost $200 and $300. I'm still a little confused on how the deals work at this store. I'll start by saying I needed a bunch of yoga clothes quick - so price was the driving selection criteria - and fit. But style and color was secondary. Condition was also important as eventually I'd be wearing the clothes in front of people. I didn't know what this store was even though I'd driven by it countless times. The name suggested to me more of a peddler's outlet or flea market. But I got coupon for $10 off $20 purchase, I looked it up and found out that it was just a thrift store - and decided to give it a try. I only got inside the front doors and found what I was looking for. Although, in retrospect, I wonder if I was just in a small section as the sizes seemed really limited - on the small size. I'm a thin person, but tall. And there was nothing over size small. I was in a rush, so I just grabbed a bunch of stuff, made sure it was over $20 and headed to the cashier. The check out process was quick an easy. However, some of the items (if not all) were on some kind of discount. So my total sale came to $15. I almost want to complain here as I didn't get to use my coupon - that I think it's a good thing. I can go back, figure out how the pricing works, and then buy more and use my coupon. Sadly, I've determined 1 of the things I bought was WAY TOO SMALL. One was great. The other couple are TBD. My M-O is to take them home, wash thoroughly, and then try on. This store has great items, and tons of inventory. However, I would not classify it as a "thrift store." I found a gorgeous dress I loved, and it was marked $100! Insanity. Most of the clothing items were $10-$40, which doesn't seem very realistic for a thrift store. This place is clean and seems to be doing a good business, but not sure if I will be back. read more

I always enjoy looking for bargains at this store. If you buy with the color code tags in mind and/or have a coupon like $10 off if you spend $20, you get fabulous deals. Some people complain about high prices but you don't have to poke in the "Upscale" isle. Everything I pick is usually a great manufacturer like Chico's or JJill or Talbots and is new or like new. The dressing rooms are not yet open but will be soon, they said. I know what size top I am and of course you can try on the sweaters and coats..there are mirrors. I rarely buy pants as that has more chance of error. Scarves for $1? Purses for $3? Fantastic! Stuff is color coded but sizing is mixed up so eat a hearty breakfast! They have a ton of clothing here. Giving 3 stars because I feel like a lot of their clothing is overpriced for a thrift store. They especially will mark up popular brands to $35 or similar prices. At that point, I might as well splurge on an actual new item, as I don't see that as a thrift bargain. They do have discount days on certain color tag items, so you may be able to find pretty good deals on those days, but popular name brands are excluded. They do not have a dressing room, which isn't the end of the world, but worth noting since you cannot return items. Not my favorite thrift store but worth going every now and again. I've visited here since 2014. They have multiple discounts depending on what day of the week it is. Also, the phone # is 614.261.0891, contrary to what Google has posted in the past! (They are fixing it). Additionally, they rotate two colors every week for various price decreases. I have snagged many fashion deals here. Try to get there in the evening and avoid the weekends. This company is incredibly greedy and profit-hungry taking clothes that are donated or given at a very low price and selling them for $25+. I wont be shopping here anymore. There are some strong positives and negatives with this thrift store. Positive thoughts: Prices are good and they have an impressive selection of clothes here. I mean that. There are tons of clothes and they seem to be decent quality. There's also plenty of nick knacks and other sundry things to look through. One more thing that's good is that this place is right across the street from the Ohio Thrift so you can hit two thrifts in one stop. Negative thoughts: It's a really big store but it's jammed packed with stuff. There's hardly any room to get past people and it's worse when it's busy. The first week of the month? Forget it. There's only two or three lines open at any time and there's always a long line. Most of the staff is stocking the store instead of helping customers. No dressing rooms too folks. My thoughts are if you've got plenty of time and you don't mind lines and mediocre to non-existent service, this might be a wonderful place to shop. But for me? Nope. read more

I loved this store despite the very exspensive prices. I recently bought a pair of shows that were $300! Quite the investment. Only to find out they were fake. I called the store and the lady said they don't give refunds and "mistakes happen". I told her there needs to be signs and she said they had them that say "all sales final". Maybe I went at the wrong time. This place was absolutely packed and it was very hard to move around the store. It was also a total mess, but I'm going to say that was probably more the fault of the patrons than the staff or management. There were parents who were not watching their children, and these kids had toys spread out and were playing in the middle of the aisles. There was also a lot of stuff just lying around that I assume was due to people pulling them off racks or shelves and being too lazy to put them back. I actually felt pretty sorry for the workers who have to make sense of the mess at the end of the day. I made a single pass through the store as quickly as I could and got out of there. read more

This is my least favorite thrift store in Columbus. The aisles are about two feet wide. I'm pretty sure this is so the guys in ghetto gowns can sexually harass women as they brush past. The racks are crammed with so much stuff you can't see most of it without causing two other items to fall to the floor, which I hate doing. They have a little maze up front that you have to navigate through because apparently people just can't wait to steal dollar t-shirts that say "McKinley High" or "I'm with Stupid." There are idiotic kids with bad parents running around everywhere trying to trip you. Oh, as if that weren't enough, it's also hot as balls. So you get to sweat while you're dealing with all of the above. There are a few pluses though, and here they are: 1) It is dirt cheap 2) It is right across the street from Ohio Thrift on Cleveland, so if you are making a day of thrifting, or wanted to stop in Ohio Thrift, you may as well stop here (although the last two times I have opted to avoid it). 3) Being situated in Linden, it is an ethnic melting pot, and I like that I can hear 3 or more languages being spoken inside. Diversity is one of the main reasons I prefer living in the city. 4) If you're willing to put up with my complaints, you can find some good stuff. read more

Not to be confused with Ohio's Thrift Stores, Village Discount Outlet claims (with a sign just as large as the store sign) to be "Ohio's Best Thrift Store." It just might be. Oh, the times I have spent/wasted here searching through rack after rack... My very first great thrift store experiences were spent here looking for vintage threads. I've nabbed jackets, shirts, suits and more that have become staples of my wardrobe. I love this place. As with all thrift stores, you have to be willing to sift through the bad stuff. There is a lot of junk. In addition to clothing, they also carry furniture and a few home decor items. The space is pretty cramped. That just means more stuff to search through! This thrift store is by far one of the largest i've ever seen, and although it seems overwhelming at first it was worth stopping in. I was able to find a blue adidas track jacket for $12, and I thoroughly enjoyed going through the color coded selections. The prices are a bit higher than places such as Goodwill and the clothing is not separated by size, but other than that I enjoyed looking through what they had to offer and I will likely be back soon. read more

With a few hours to kill mid-day during a recent day of work "hooky" in Columbus, I just couldn't resist going back to one of my old "haunts." I'm hopelessly addicted to aimlessly wandering the aisles of a good thrift shop, and used to spend so much time in all the great "junk/treasure" shops of the area... Heck, I pretty much furnished my entire apartment from STUFF found in this and other N. side spots (and I was no starving college kid!!). It IS cramped/crowded/messy/hot and sweaty and annoying, but with a little bit of patience (and the reward of great/cheap finds and a virtual visit to E. Asia, the horn of Africa, and Mexico/Central America!!) how can you go wrong!! read more
