I'd heard that this restaurant had been cleaned up and was much better. The food was OK, but we had a brand new chef. First time ever. Hadn't been trained and it was Mother's Day. He was confused, apologetic and it really wasn't his fault. The managers/owners tried to apologize but they didn't offer to make it right. We ordered the most expensive thing on the menu. The lobster was tough and portions were small because the poor chef couldn't get it right. When I complained, the manager (I think) apologized again -- but once again didn't offer to make it right-- she ended with "Shoji's is right down the road." Yes it is and no, you don't get a second chance. If I could give 0 stars I would. I took a chance -- kinda knew what would happen -- and it did. Go to Shojis. read more

We Ordered the teriyaki salmon and the teriyaki chicken dinners both were very good. I enjoyed the house salad. The salad came with a citrus oriental style dressing and was very good. The Portions were smaller than most of the other teppanyaki restaurants I have visited but that is probably because they had a more reasonable portion at a Better Price. It was conveniently located in downtown Medford, with Plenty of free parking. read more

So my girlfriend and I tried this place this evening.... Well, got to be honest, we were very disappointed. Did not find the service to be present at all, did not find the space we were sitting very clean. The sushi my girlfriend was eating was very fishy tasting. My dish which consisted of steak, chicken, and shrimp, had a couple issue's. The steak was very over cooked and dry, the chicken was under cooked and chewy. We were very disappointed, and tried couple bites, then literally paid our bill and left. If I had looked at the reviews for this place on yelp, we would never have gone. But just have to chalk it up as a learning lesson. read more

Under the new management, this place has completely turned around. Most of the teppan tables were full right after the 5:00 p.m. opening. Chef Robert was incredibly entertaining. The generous portions leave enough for the next day's lunch. The owners were very kind, checking to make sure we were enjoying everything. Customers around us were having fun in this exotic atmosphere. The restaurant deserves a better rating, which was likely pulled down by bad reviews from years ago. read more

Our server Stephanie yesterday was kind and prompt with our service. We enjoyed their miso soup and 4 rolls... The sushi Master, Mr. Oh, was even kind enough to customize the spiciness of the rolls for me... I like a little less spice. All was fresh and delicious. It's not "fine dining" quality sushi but still tastes good. The menu was adequate for my needs with enough variety to keep it interesting. The service is not the best, but I'm fine with that. I ordered take-out ahead of time and a very overwhelmed man took my order on the phone and apologized ahead of time for the long wait. Chefs were hilarious, food was amazing, decor was entertaining, service was fast and accurate, and OMG i honestly said out-loud "this is the BEST fried rice i've ever had!" and our table-mates agreed.
