Skip the tonkotsu ramen: hard boiled egg not a six min egg, one small piece of chasu, not much flavor in the broth at all, just overall lacking and portion was very small for the price. Even if there were two pieces of chasu, this would be a poor value for money. Ordered some sushi and found the rice-to-fish ratio very off in that the roll is mostly rice with very little actual fish. This was true across all the rolls we ordered. The rice was also cold as if it were refrigerated instead of freshly made. This made the rice firmer and not as pleasant as fresh sushi rice. The price is not good value for money for the ramen or for the sushi. read more

Second time here (we visit grants pass every couple months) AMAZING AGAIN. The salmon sashimi portions are huge and it's so good. We also got (not pictured) sunomono, miso soup, ms Ginny roll and spicy tuna roll. All were very good. Fairly priced. Clean open eating space. I only went once so far, and it was just okay. I had the chicken bento box, and nothing was special. The bad thing was it came out cold, even the tempura was not hot as you usually get tempura. But worse than that was how tiny the portions were. My rice was no more than a half cup serving, I was still hungry after eating my meal and I am not a giant eater! I had to ask for the tempura dipping sauce, the hot tea I ordered was lukewarm. The miso soup was not hot and was fairly bland. Kind of a sad experience overall. I may try one more time to give them a chance to see how the sushi and sashimi is, but I'm not sure how soon I'd go back. read more

I've been in this town for 3 years. This was always my go-to Sushi place since they opened. At first the quality was good, quantity was so-so but fresh. I believe this will be my last visit there . I ordered a Tic-Tac Roll. Quite sub-par in the amount of Unagi draped across the top as well as the lack of Tobiko. The wasabi was ok although it looked like it came from someone else's plate. There was no employee when I walked in the man behind the sushi counter told me where the menu. Said I had to wait for the waitress. She was told about me went to seat a family of 6. Asked if I knew what I wanted I said yes. She went to the big table and started taking their drink order and getting their drinks so I walked out. read more

Celebrated Valentine's Day early here last night and the food was incredible as always! My favorite is the Neko roll. So well balanced with delicious flavor! I got heart burn shortly after arriving (before we ate) and I asked the server if they had milk. Not only did she search for tums for me but when she couldn't find any she suggested the Thai tea because it has cream in it. After only a few minutes after drinking it my heartburn subsided and I was able to enjoy my meal. She truly saved my night because my husband was ready to go to the store and get some tums but didn't have to! read more

Tonight, I had a simple meal alone at the sushi bar. The chef made polite conversation. My miso soup and Oregon roll were perfect. No notes. The freshness of tart lemon was EXCELLENT on the Oregon roll. Everything we have tried has been perfect. We are new to town, this will be our sushi spot for sure! Our first experience at this restaurant was last year. We just moved to the area and wanted to find a good Asian restaurant which seem to be scarce and I had put this place out there having remembered passing it. Perhaps it's because we are used to the loud, packed environments that are common in California Asian restaurants, but while it was still quite populated for this area, the quiet here was surprising and pleasant. The service was prompt and professional and the food was fantastic. Between 8 people, we had quite a bit, I had the Red Devil as a main entree and partook in the Monkey Brains that we had as a shared plate. I had never had a deep fried role before and I don't believe any regular ole role will ever live up to it. When you first read the words 'eel sauce', it might not sound too great but I couldn't tell where it was in the flavors and the spice was perfect. The monkey brains were also excellent though I am not sure about that name hehe. For dessert I had the tempera Cheesecake and aside from the concept itself being an amazing thing to pull off or so I imagine, it might have been the best damn cheesecake I have ever had. We just went again last week and it was just as fantastic experience. This experience further revealed how clean they are because at one point I dropped one of my chopsticks (I am not so great with the large plastic ones but I don't care. I will always use chopsticks with Asian food), and by the time we got up to leave it was gone from the floor where it had landed. I've honestly never gotten into sushi outside of spicy tuna rolls as much as I have started to here. read more

I really wanted to give this restaurant five stars, I really did. I think most people would find the food here very wonderful. I started out with seaweed salad, and expected it to be a bit sweet; it was. When I received my salmon bento box meal, the salmon was done just perfectly -- and was sitting in cooked cabbage and carrots, in a sweetened sauce. The "soy sauce" for dipping was sweetened. (The vegetable tempura didn't taste sweet.) The sticky rice was done perfectly, and was not sweetened. The miso soup was rather weak and bland, unlike 98% of the miso soup I've had in my life, and there might have been a bit of sweetness in there. Even the lettuce salad was drizzled with a very sweet sauce. I don't think the four pieces of sushi were sweetened -- but I could be wrong on that one. I've been on the keto diet (no grains, no sweeteners, no seed oils) since 2017, and yes, I realize that rice is a grain, so I was already going against my diet with the rice. What I was just not expecting was that everything would taste sweet. And how can miso soup be so watered down and bland! I'm afraid I won't be able to go back, now that I know that everything on the menu, pretty much, is sweet. I'll have to find another place in Grants Pass for sushi. This "everything is sweetened" menu may be a big win for some, but for me, I can't do the sweeteners. read more

We gave Neko Sushi a try the other night and it was amazing!!! The price you pay for the portion size and quality is incredibly reasonable. The sushi was delicious! Great flavor and fresh! The honey walnut shrimp was pretty good too! We were even able to enjoy the walnuts with the shrimp, unlike a lot of other places that overcook them. I'm definitely a sucker for a Thai iced tea and there's is one of the best that I've had so far. The only problem I would say that I had, was with the beef in the Bento box. It was more like jerky in texture and how cooked it was, but the flavor was really good. Overall, I would highly recommend trying this place out and we would definitely go back. read more

The waiter was confused and only brought out my bento box, so my brother in law had to remind him of the other bento box. It was brought out after I had already finished eating. The rice had sesame seeds on it, and it was a little crunchy as well! The miso soup was good; but it wasn't hot, just barely warm enough to eat. The chicken was okay! Not much flavor, even with the teriyaki sauce on it. The salmon roll was good though. I didn't try the tempura veggies that came with the box! My sister said they were good. read more

So, we have been here several times in the past, and it was always just okay. So we haven't been back for a while. Today, it was excellent. I believe it has new owners and/or staff. Or maybe they have had some time to perfect the recipes. Whatever happened, it was delicious. We order three rolls and edamame. The volcano, caterpillar, and dynamite rolls tasted amazing and fresh.
