I had an overall positive happy hour experience at this OHSO location. When I arrived around 4:00 p.m. on a Saturday afternoon, the restaurant was already hopping. The music and atmosphere were energetic maybe a little loud for my personal taste but the overall vibe was fun and social. I also noticed a nice patio area in the back of the restaurant. The layout of the restaurant was unique. I had never been to this location before. There is a counter-service area near the entrance where you can eat casually or order food to go, while the full-service dining area is located farther back. I I also enjoyed reading the historical displays throughout the restaurant that shared the history of Sunnyslope and the building itself, including its former life as "The Arbor." It added a unique local touch to the experience. I ordered the Ensalada Del Sol, which was generously sized and made with fresh ingredients. The chili-rubbed chicken was tender, and the food arrived quickly. My only concern was the consistency of the chicken. It was much saltier than expected and overpowered some of the other flavors in the salad. There also wasn't quite enough cilantro dressing for the flavor to come through. This was actually the second time I've experienced overly salty chicken here on the same salad, My bartender/server was friendly, attentive, and offered helpful drink recommendations. Ohso on Central in Sunny Slope is definitely a favorite of ours. We lived in the area for about 6 years. Loved ours walks and bike rides along the canal. This location fits right in to this area. Ohso really knows how to show their rewards members that they care and are interested in making sure rewards members feel appreciated. For a birthday reward, they send a $20 dollar voucher toward your meal. That's right $20 dollars. We went for brunch today and they offer a mimosa or a 12oz draft beer with your brunch entree if you choose from the $17 dollar brunch menu choices. There is a lot to choose from, something for almost everyone. My Birthday isn't until next weekend but we thought since this is the last weekend before winter break is over and I will be back to teaching on Monday this would be a great way to spend our Saturday! We also love the atmosphere of this location. So much love for the area is shown in the decor and they have a beautiful patio that faces the canal. Lots of people walking by and bike riding. Beautiful bar in-between the inside and outside. Luke took care of us and he was attentive, personable and so helpful. We splurged on egg dishes, since we are typically vegan. Everything was delicious and cooked to perfection. Lox Benedict and a Wonderful breakfast bowl. 2 - 12 oz draft beers and $20 dollars off our bill. My husband and I visited Oso Brewery on Central Avenue for breakfast, and unfortunately, it was one of the most disappointing dining experiences we've had. From the moment our waitress approached our table, we felt unwelcome. She was cold and dismissive while taking our order. When we asked about the different mimosa flavors, she didn't explain the options and instead seemed to assume what we wanted. She brought our drinks but forgot the coffee. Then our food arrived, and we still had no coffee. During this time, our waitress appeared far more interested in socializing with acquaintances who had just arrived. She spent an extended period sitting at their table chatting while we continued waiting. We attempted to get help from another server, but nothing was done. After several attempts to get someone's attention, our waitress finally returned to our table and offered a passive-aggressive apology for forgetting the coffee. What made the situation especially disappointing is that we have been loyal customers since this location opened and live only a few blocks away. We have visited many times and have never been treated this way. When we spoke with management, we expected our concerns to be heard. Instead, we felt talked down to and treated as though we were overreacting rather than expressing legitimate concerns about poor service and disrespectful treatment. The waitress insisted on comping our meal. We repeatedly declined because that was never the issue. We were not looking for a free meal. We simply wanted basic courtesy, attentiveness, and respect. Being offered a free meal instead of genuine accountability felt insulting and missed the point entirely. Everyone makes mistakes. Forgetting a coffee order is not what lost us as customers. Being ignored, dismissed, and treated disrespectfully is. Sadly, after years of supporting this business, we will not be returning. read more

I've been going to this place for awhile now. It's nice and conveniently down the street ! I've never been a fan of their food actually tbh but it's such a cute spot and you can bring your pup ! I had a friend in town and took her here for brunch and it honestly was pretty good! I got just a waffle and she got French toast ! After a lackluster experience down the street, all of us were hungry so we came here to get dinner and drinks as a second stop. We were a party of 9 and seated quickly. This is a really lovely Ohso's and beautiful inside! Ive always liked Ohso's and probably my favorite is the one in Arcadia. It doesn't matter almost what the temp here is in Phoenix, I just like sitting outside. During the summers, it's hard to do that, but next time I am here, I'll check out their outdoor space to experience! Server was great and got everything out in a timely fashion. Everyone enjoyed their food. I had the Margherita pizza, pretty good, but it was more like a flatbread. The fresh tomatoes on top were very flavorful, I enjoyed it. And good portion size! Had leftovers for lunch. My friend had the steak frites appetizer, I think she enjoyed the steak but said the fries were too salty and the portion size was big. Overall, this place was super legit! I loved the ambiance, the food, the drinks, and most of all, loved the group I came with, community makes my brain and heart happy and so glad Ohso's here accommodated us easily. We've been to a couple OHSO locations and have enjoyed their beers, food and service. Our group of eight were promptly seated, water was brought, and our puppy greeted with a treat. We enjoyed the bright beer, AZ burger, del sol salad, short rib melt, asada board, and seafood pasta. Service was friendly and attentive and everyone raved over their food. Not our first visit to O. H. S. O's, we've been to several locations, but still one of our favorite brunch spots in the Valley. We sat outside on the dog friendly patio, which is fully shaded, and has fans and misters, aka Phoenix patio dining at its finest . The fans don't quite cover the whole patio (east side = a tad much), but we moved tables and survived without spontaneously combusting. Totally worth it for the doggos. Kevin was fantastic! Friendly, always smiling, and checked on us just the right amount. No awkward hovering here, he knows that fine line between attentive and "why is this person staring at me?" Boozy Brunch is one of the best deals around: $17 for an entrée plus your choice of a monster mimosa (served in a wine glass big enough to double as a goldfish tank) or a 12oz AZ beer. I went with the O. H. S. O. Lost Viking porter, a consistently solid choice: smooth, rich, with a touch of chocolate and nice depth of flavor. All of their house brews are solid, though I haven't tried the IPAs. I started with the Oasis Punch, which is grapefruit vodka, elderflower, lemon, simple syrup, and strawberry. Bright, tart, perfectly balanced. Sunshine in a glass, for days when you need that kind of reminder that life isn't all terrible. Monster Mimosa (pineapple) - Hubby's pick for the Boozy Brunch. Solid, though the pineapple was more cameo than lead. Deviled Egg Toast - Egg salad, crispy prosciutto, everything bagel seasoning, chili oil, corn & sun-dried tomato arugula salad, and potatoes. Hubby added chorizo on top. Perfectly balanced, crispy potatoes (a tiny bit more salt wouldn't hurt anyone). Staff always comment on how good this sounds when he orders it this way, and they're not wrong, it's delicious. Deviled Eggs - Bacon marmalade and chili oil. Normally I don't like sweet with eggs, but this combo won me over. The hit of spice from the chili oil put it over the top. Slightly messy from the oil, but worth every bite. Some of the best deviled eggs we've had lately. Messy? Sure. Worth it? Absolutely, it's a must-try. O.H.S.O. Biscuits & Beer Gravy - Full disclosure: I'm a Southern-raised biscuit & gravy purist. Beer gravy sounded like a bad idea. But somehow, it works. Fluffy biscuits split in half, generous sausage chunks, and flavorful gravy with a nice amount of pepper (finally!). Even a traditionalist like me has to admit defeat. 10/10, highly recommend. Between the punch, the eggs, the biscuits, and my perfectly chosen porter, brunch here hits all the right notes. Good, not great food. The outdoor seatinging area is very nice. They encourage you to bring your dog. Sometimes there are a lot of them. We have been here several times in the past. They have a full bar and the outdoor area is a nice place to relax, but the service is awful. It has always been slow, but today they seemed understaffed and the staff they had were in no hurry to do anything. It was not very busy, but every table seemed to be neglected by the servers. Anyone can have a bad day, but everyone all at once is just rude. It will take a lot for us to return. read more

I went around 530pm so it was still Friday happy hour. I ordered a mule with Arcadia cucumber Vodka, it was so refreshing in the outside chilly air. I also had the hummus board, which had a bed of hummus with pesto and honey drizzle, and slices of cucumber, radish, and carrot with pita bread. It was so delicious not a bit was left by the end. We came here on a trip as it was recommended by a local, and it didn't disappoint! The patio was nice, they had heaters as it was quite chilly. We were drawn by the drink with brunch. We got a mixture of dishes, the chicken and waffles won, my daughter asked for an extra filet of the chicken! The Mimosa was good, beers were ok. The breakfast pizza was good, and we got some of the mini donuts to take home. Those were a hit! The best was the nap time donut. The service was a little slow and the waitress completely forgot to put in one of the dishes until all the food came out, so when that dish came out everyone was done already, nearly another 15 minutes waiting. I was looking for a dog friendly spot while in north PHX & found this spot on Google, as I have been to the OHSO in Gilbert & never knew about their dog patio so I was pretty stoked to see it. it was my first visit here late night and as soon I walk up with my dog someone had opened the door for me so I didn't see the sign for no dogs allowed inside (until I walked back out) so I figured I was able to walk in with my pup to get to the patio but the host who was not particularly friendly about it directed me go outside and walk quite a bit of yards around to the back patio which was dark and on the side of the road & boom my anxiety already kicked in with how dark it was & to just leave as I didn't feel welcome and felt bad for my pup more than anything because I walked by a few workers before I got to the hostess inside and they didn't mention anything when I did have my pup inside. So just FYI if you bring your pet do not go in through the front door walk on the side near the road till you see an opening in the fence that will lead you to the patio host so you can avoid how i felt & the confusion all together. We finally sat down and were greeted with an awesome server that def made the night better for us He was highly attentive and took our order quick and helped me pick out a beer which was so good. We were brought out food from a different server that dropped it off quick & left and it wasn't our food but the tables behind us & kind of hard to get anyone's attention that it wasn't our order which made me feel bad for whoever's food it was so we got up and went to the hostess to mention it. OHSO is a valley staple and this is one of their newer locations. It has a super cute coffee bar/cafe up front with local merch, and dining is in the back including both indoor and outdoor seating. This is a great place for lunch or happy hour. Plus this they are one of my favorite things a restaurant can be! Dog friendly! I got their September special which was a BBQ Beef Brisket Grilled Cheese with bacon and jalapeño cream cheese on Texas toast. It was delicious and very filling. My friend got the lunch special with half a pizza and salad. Pricing isn't that cheap but the quality is good. I also got some "mini" donuts to go. Fair warning, they're not that mini! Never again. It's my own fault. After being disappointed in Gilbertand Paradise Valley I swore off OHSO. The grandkids wanted their donuts and we arrived at 730 am before any customers were really there. They said 30 minutes for donuts so we ordered breakfast. Breakfast came out really fast. Maybe they should have taken the time to heat up my biscuits and gravy because it was ICE COLD. 1 1/2 hour later the donuts were sitting on the counter and no one delivered them as they promised. WE checked several times with the staff. Seriously the food temperature was not up to health department standards, the wait for donuts was just? RIDICULOUS. Go at your own risk. OHSO to this 30 year restaurant veteran is just a horribly managed concept. Poor management, staff and cold food? You decide. Me? NEVER AGAIN. EVVVVVER! You? We love going here and the staff that works there are always welcoming and helpful. Love the food and atmosphere. I have one concern though. I usually get the Asian salad. I loved the flavor with the mandarin oranges etc. But today I was disappointed because it is so different now without the oranges etc it tastes very different now . Im sure others will like it but Im disappointed. So I won't be getting it again but I will enjoy the other favorites if mine for sure. Looking forward to my next visit there.
