It's actually California law that gas stations are required to provide free gas and water when you buy gasoline. On the rare occasions I've tried to ask for either in the LA area, the gas station attendant acts like I might as well be asking for the earth and the moon. Then midway through they'll shut it off, so I'll have to go back, they'll begrudgingly turn it on again, and I'll have to go back to my car and so on and so forth... With the employees here, it's completely the opposite! Because I wanted to use Apple Pay inside they let me fill up my tank first and then allowed me to pay for it later. Imagine doing that in LA! When I asked about air, one of the mechanics actually checked each of my tires for me and even went underneath the car to grab a valve-cap that I had dropped. And they waved us goodbye and thanked us for coming! No, thank YOU!! This station deserves ALL the Mobil awards! PS. The gas was cheaper than the other stations in the area!

Cuz, heaven forbid the staff would have to actually do the task. While I am not yet victimized by the digital divide, I really didn't want to spend my time figuring out their POS system. Each service is nickel and dime. At my last oil change, ( different location) I was able to order a 'high mileage vehicle synthetic oil". Here, nah but you can buy a synthetic oil and add on a high mileage pour-over for a fee. In the olden days, they would show you the parts they recommend to be replaced and offer the chance to repair. Now this location states there is a problem on the invoice but by the time you see it, your car is already pulled out of the bay. Once upon a time, all windows would be cleaned and the floor mats vacuumed. Here, they proudly tell you the front window was washed and offer you a moist towelette to do your own dashboard. Whee; such a treat. I know everywhere is doing less and charging more, but I will remember what good service was like until my dying day. (Hint: it's not at this location.) Long story longer: I will not be back.

Trish at Walmart Auto Care is a rockstar. She has the knowledge and took great care of us when we arrived - as did the tire cats. They were friendly, took time to explain things (the AAA dude stripped my lug nuts when putting on my donut - that was fun) and made sure we were GOOD before sending us back on the road. Their prices are noticeably lower than the other tire chains. If that matters, then you should bring your car here for tires and save a few bucks. Most of all, though, you'll be TAKEN CARE OF. And that's what it's really all about. Comfortable little waiting room was available and, of course, about ninety zillion items in the main store. If that ain't enough to kill time...you got too much time on your hands.
