I have to say our expectations were very low given the ratings. However, my husband and I were happily surprised by the quality of sushi we had here today. We had a spicy tuna roll, tuna special roll & volcano roll. This will be our " go to" place when we are in town. We've tried all the other options and this was hands down the best sushi we've had in Tifton. My suggestions: serve hot sake. Brighten up the decor. Possibly get better ventilation. read more

I came here to enjoy sushi with my family. this was my first time coming here and to my surprise they would not fix me sushi because I have a shellfish allergy and they said they could not do it in separate areas so I was the only one who didn't get to eat sushi and I think that's BS. I've been to many sushi places and as long as you told them that you had a shellfish allergy they were prepared for that and they would fix your sushi. Very good food. I usually get the Beto Box because it has a little of every. Not much ambiance but the good food makes up for it.! Service is pretty good. They do bring you your food if you are eating in. If it's carry out, it's ready when they tell you it will be ready. read more

This is the worst customer service I have EVER experienced. I have worked in the restaurant business for 12 years. Never would I ever argue with a guest. The blonde heavy set chick told me she would only give me half of my money back for a $4 BROWN salad. She stated "well I dont have time to go and cut salad right now. Let me mention the fact that me and my friend were the only ones in the entire building! I asked to speak with a manager she stated "you're speaking with the manager." I told her the way she was speaking to me that there was no way that she was the manager. Then she began to tell me "well I'm the only one that can speak English, unless you'd like to speak with one of our cooks. I told her that that would be pointless if they dont speak English. I mentioned again that I was NOT in any shape, form or fashion going to be made to pay for a brown salad I never even ate! She huffed really loud and said ok! Told me at the beginning though that she didn't know what to tell me she cant give me my money back. I still haven't received any money back. I will never go back and eat there. If I could speak with the owner or the REAL manager that would be appreciated. I have never ever felt so unwelcome at a food business. I am a local in Tifton, Georgia, so I have had many experiences with Oishii Japanese Grill located across from Walmart on Highway 82. It's taken me a long time to formulate this review, because I wanted it to be based on many different experiences and have a fair review as a whole. With that being said, I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone who is not willing to wait atleast 30-40 minutes on one plate. The wait time will always be atleast 30 minutes regardless of how busy, under or over staffed, or dirty or clean they or the restaurant are. I've been there to pick up to-go's and to dine in and have had huge wait times even calling ahead for my order. The customer service has never necessarily been bad, but the cleanliness of the restaurant isn't the best by a long shot. I went in to dine in a few days ago and the first picture attached to this review is how the restaurant looked at the time. Keep in mind, I sat down and those were already there, that photograph was taken on my way out. I also had to wait one hour and ten minutes for that one chicken plate that had a small amount of chicken which isn't appreciated. I didn't make a complaint due to the fact that I had already waited an extended amount of time and was starving at that point. Like I said, the customer service has never been sub par, but the restaurant had two other tables of guests at the time of my most recent dining experience, so the tables could've easily been cleaned. There were also one cook and one cashier at the time of this photo from what I could see as a customer. The food is good, but is a little pricy for what you do get. There are other Asian restaurants in Tifton that offer a lot more for less, so that is always an aspect to consider. Overall, I get discouraged more and more everytime I dine there due to these factors combining every single time. I started eating here years ago, and not much has changed at all. read more

every time i go back to Tifton, there's a new store or restaurant along this strip of Hwy 82. Oishii took the spot vacated by Moe's Burritos. my family and i stopped here on my way back to Atlanta for lunch. we originally wanted sushi but realized we were on a time crunch, so we ordered a shrimp bento box. my dad thought his shrimp were a little "fishy", but mine tasted ok. i did feel the whole plate was very heavy on sauces...too much dressing on the salad, a sauce for dipping something was on the side, and a dipping sauce in the center of the box for the fried wontons. everything was fried (except the salad) and tasted a tad too heavy and oily for my liking. it is south georgia, and my dad explained that nothing in Tifton gets eaten unless it's fried. we may try this place again to check out the sushi, but probably not the regular menu. read more

My mom and I enjoy going to Oishii every time we are in town. The location is older, and could benefit from remodeling, however, the food is always delicious! Restaurant could use a good deep clean but the food is super yummy. Probably my favorite Japanese non hibatchi grill place in South Georgia. I wouldn't call it fast food because it usually takes 20 mins to get your food. Fuji's in Waycross would be a close second. They also don't gouge you on bottled water. I went to try this place because my normal go-to was closed for the virus (Osaka). Needless to say I got less sushi for more than I would pay at the other place. The sushi was falling apart and the order of rice I got with it just wasn't good. Wasn't worth the $30 I spent. Do yourself a favor drive two exits north to Osaka. We ordered sushi rolls, udon noodles, and fried rice. While waiting for the order, we asked for extra wasabi and ginger. The waitress brought the wasabi but not the ginger. When asked about the ginger she said, "we don't have that here." Literally. She had to go ask and then brought the extra ginger after all. Service was bad from her (didn't bring requested chopsticks, forgot to bring the noodles, generally sour attitude). The rice and noodles were decent, pretty standard fare even if the tempura shrimp were a bit thin. The sushi wasn't worth it, though. The spicy tuna came with the tuna mixed with liberal amounts of the tiny fish eggs mixed in. The rainbow roll had wafer-thin small slices of fish draped across the top, not the meaty slices you'd expect. read more

This place has gone DOWN HILL. Customer service today was beyond ridiculous. I called to place an order and was put on hold for 10 minutes before they came back to the phone. Then when I went to get my food I asked for extra sauce, offered to pay for it, and they refused even though there was sauce visible in the refrigerator. I visited this location recently hoping to get my fix of sushi and a sea weed salad. It was about 4:15pm, we pulled up and saw maybe two cars in the parking area. The lights in the restaurant were dim so we thought they might have been closed. We walked in and saw there were a couple of tables taken so we decided to sit, or order from counter... This is where it gets confusing. You can't tell if you wait to be seated or go to counter. There was no one at the counter for a few minutes so we waited. While waiting we claimed a table. Next to a wall full of food stains. Barf. When we finally found someone it was a young lady who appear front the stock room. Apparently we order at the counter. Okay... Let's see the menu, yikes this is a small menu, but at least they have seaweed salad. Wait where is the sushi on the menu? I ask the young lady and she says that they don't take orders for sushi until 5pm. I look at my watch and its 4:20pm. The restaurant is practically empty. We ask if they would make an exception since there aren't any other orders. Nope. 5pm is when they take orders for sushi. Ok? I began to settle on a bento box, but I'm getting my seaweed salad. Nope. They won't serve seaweed salad unit 5pm with the sushi. Ugh. Really? You don't even cook seaweed salad. we left. The small menu did not offer comparable items I wanted. The staff was not willing to bend on preparing food on their menu for an earlier time, even though NO ONE ELSE WAS WAITING in line. I've eaten here a long time ago so I thought it'd be good. WRONG. First after I order takeout and ask for no veggies I stay at the very end of the front counter cause I'm awkward. The workers perceive this as impatient and start talking about me in front of my face! "Somebody is impatient you better hurry with her food!" And when I thought of my bf wanting soy I asked if I could make one (so she didn't have to) and her coworker said "Guess you didn't make it fast enough". I don't say anything and I get my food and walk out politely . Only to walk back in because it had veggies. When I asked them to fix it, she proceeds to just pick out the veggies. When I tell her my bf has an allergy and to remake them she sighs and her coworker makes a dig about absolutely no veggies dripped in sarcasm. Since they had to remake it he only put 8 pieces of chicken for my bfs plates, not cooking them with the same effort as earlier, slightly burnt. When I address them, they feign ignorance about the entire situation, don't offer a refund for the hour I waited, and give me more attitude until I leave. Never going again. I didnt get the girl's name but she was following along with Justin Chon, her coworker. Oh and when I asked for a manager he pointed to him but never got his manager then she put the food in my face so I walked out before doing anything rash. read more
